Mohit Suri's adaptation of the iconic 90s hit Aashiqui, Aashiqui 2 went onto become a blockbuster. The film also established Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor as bankable stars. So when we heard the buzz that Aashiqui 3 was being made, we assumed Mohit would be helming the film. But apparently that's not the case. Producers Bhushan Kumar and Mahesh Bhatt did meet Mohit but things didn't work out. According to the grapevine, Mohit asked for a huge remuneration, which the producers didn't agree to. Last heard, Bhushan Kumar and Mahesh Bhatt were looking for another filmmaker to move the franchise forward.
