Why are item songs becoming a trend in Pakistani films? Even Kambakht had one but Hamza decided to remove it thank goodness.. I mean there just degrading to woman and not in any way something to boast about or expect respect in return for.. 🤔

Films called 8969, made by someone who works in Pashto cinema/dramas.

Hopefully it's nothing too ridiculous. This fascination with item numbers in Pakistani films is a little annoying.

I found another poster of the film -

Such an ace actress why does she need to do this. There are other ways to break the mould. Item numbers serve no concrete purpose except maybe in very rare cases where it's hinged / contextualised to a plot.?

Hope it isn't crass or anything.

I'm actually really disappointed that in midst of this so-called revival of Pakistani cinema, majority of the films all belong to the violence/action genre or generally on more heavier subjects like social issues in Pakistan... why are there no light-hearted films being made to create that balance?

Saba denies it.

Sorry guys but Saba Qamar is so not doing an item number...at least not yet!

A hot poster of Qamar showing the gorgeous actress in a backless choli captioned "Item Song Mastani" spread like wildfire this week online.

But while the poster is definitele sexy it is not associated with an item number.

""It's just a stupid publicity stunt by the producer to promote his venture, nothing else," said Saba Qamar speaking exclusively with HIP.

The model turned actress says that 8969 is not a film but a telefilm in which she will be playing the role of an actress. And in order to introduce her role to the viewers, the telefilm will open with a song showing her dancing but it will be not be an item song.

Speaking about the provocative poster, she agitatedly says,

"If I do item songs, then I'll leave TV."

Qamar who will also be seen setting the celluloid screens in upcoming movies, Kambakht and Main Manto, says the reason she doesn't want to do item numbers is because there is no acceptance for overt sexuality in our society.

"When I do dramas, housewives relate to me. I don't think they will continue to feel the same about me once I perform on an item song."

The actress emphasized thatt there was nothing bad in doing item songs but said that ,

"Dekhein log kitni laan taan ker rahein hain Mehwish aur Humaima ko."

Qamar can currently be seen playing a romantic role in drama serial "Janam" opposite Adnan Siddiqui on A-plus.
