Nupur looked at it and said

"Oh main to bhul hi gayi aunty ne mujhe dia tha aur aklele mein kholne ko kaha tha. Pata nahi kya hai isme?"

Nupur moved towards it and opened and found a shagun of rs.1001 which she took out and was again keeping it back when she found a chit inside the envelope.

"Di ye kya hai?"

"Pata nahi Gunjan kholne to de."

When Nupur opened it something was written on it which she began to read loudly

"Nupur beta I hope ki tum iss rishte se khush ho mera beta Mayank bilkul duffer hai mujhe pata hai usne kuch nahi kaha hoga tujhse aur na wo kabhi kahega isliye zindagi me tujhe hi pehla step lena padega. Ye Mayank ka no hai tumhe koi bhi zarurat ho make sure tum mere nalyak bte ko hi pareshan karo tabhi to pehchaan badhegi."

By the time Nupur was on the verge of finishing she had lowered her tone.

Nupur was in a kind of daze she felt quite weird after reading the letter but had a slight smile on her face.

"Aye haye di ye smile..Uff pagal ho jaungi main toh."

"Chupkar Gunjan bakwas mat karo."

"HAAn haan ab to hume chup hi rehne ko kaha jayega kisi ka number jo mil gaya hai."

Nupur just glared at her and keeping the envelope safely she went to bed as it tomorrow was going to be a tough day for her.

In the morning, Shilpa came with the Panditji to fix the dates. Nupur's heart was beating in an unusual speed. Nupur was in her room with Gunjan as Geeta had told Nupur to come down only when she would call her.

"Gunjan I hope koi jaldi baazi na ho."

"Don't worry di sab sahi hi hoga."

" I hope so Gunjan but tujhe pata hai na mujhe koi bhi jaldi baazi nahi chahye is baar."

Nupur's nervousness was completely visible on her face. Gunjan knew why was it like that she knew what had made her like that.

"Di mujhe pata hai bohot difficult hai ye tumhare liye because I know what you have been through. Kis wajah se tumhe itna darr hai I know tum pichli baar ki tarah kuch nahi chahti ho us ke liye tumhe trust karna hoga."

A lone pair of tear silently moved down her cheeks. Gunjan wiped it and said

"Di tumhe age badhna hoga ab us baat ko huye samay bhi to kitna hogaya hai aur Mayank to bohot hi acha hai. Itna kuch hone ke bad bhi usne tumhare sath acha hi behave kiya."

Nupur was not in a state of mind where she could speak. Gunjan knew it so she was just trying to motivate her.

Nupur was just sitting silently while a few things from the past were flashing in her mind. Gunjan who was sitting next to her knew what must be going in her mind so she tried to distract her.

"Di tumne jiju ka number kis naam se save kiya?"

Nupur looked at her in a shocked way may be because she was not used to it.

"ab toh adat dhal lo di main to jiju hi bulaungi"

"Gun.."

Nupur was about to say something in an irritated tone when Geeta called them downstairs.

Gunjan knew she had escaped a good long speech.

Shilpa along with Panditji and Geeta was sitting on the couch when Nupur nervously came downstairs.

Shilpa had a pleasant smile on her face when she saw Nupur.

"Namaste aunty."

"Namaste beta. Ao mere pas betho. Bohot hi pyaari lag rahi ho."

Nupur just smiled and was looking towards the ground when Shilpa added further

"Nupur ab tum itna bhi mat sharmao mujh se main ab tumhari maa jaisi hoon. Beta koi bhi baat ho mujhe bas keh dena tumhe koi darne ki zarurat nahi hai."

Nupur just smiled with a few lines of tension disappearing from her forehead. She had started liking Shilpa's gentleness.

"Panditji koi nazdeeki date nikalyega zada dur ki nahi.Hume to bas jaldi se jaldi Nupur ko ghar lana hai."

"Nazdeek to hai par bohot zada nahi aj se ek mahine bad ki tareek mangni ke liye uchit rahegi aur uske 15 din bad shaadi. Usse pehle ka koi bhi din uchit nahi hai ek sukhdayi Vivah ke liye."

"jaisa ap sahi samjhe par isse pehle hota to aur acha tha."

Shilpa said with some expectations.

"Nahi Shaadi to ap jab chahe kar lijiye par shubh mohrat isse pehle to nahi hai."

"Tab yehi theek hai. Chalo iska ek faida bhi hoga Nupur aur Mayank ek dusre ko behtar janenge."

She said while looking at Nupur who lowered her gaze with a slight smile on her face.

Though Nupur had a smile on her face some things were going on at the back of her mind. She was thankful that she had got more than a month before marriage. She wanted the know him well she wished to spend some time with him before marriage just to know him and analyse him as a person. She dint want to be in a hurry all she wanted was time because it was difficult for her.

Shilpa had bought a few gifts which she handed over to her. All were in a joyous mood though the Fathers were not there but they had been informed. But still there was one person who was unaware of it. Yes, it was Mayank who was the most disinterested person and yet wasn't against it now. He seemed casual with and had accepted it that he has to do it one day ,whether today or tomorrow it was the same thing for him but what was difficult for him was that he had to waste time which he hated the most in life. He knew there would be stupid ceremonies held, for which his mother would blackmail him in some or the other way and make him do things she wanted.

Mayank was not informed just because his cell phone was switched off and Shilpa really dint like calling his secretary because she felt really irritated when she had to follow the stupid proceedings to talk to her own son.

Mayank was sitting on his chair just after coming back from the conference room. He was engaged in doing something when something struck his mind.

His conversation with his mother in the morning was the thing which freezed him at the spot.

"Mayu tu bhool jayega mujhe pata."

"nahi bhulunga ma."

"Tu pakka bhool jayega."

"nahi Ma main yad se phone off nahi karunga."

"Teri koi meeting hogi aur tu phone band kar ke baith jayega mujhe pata hai."

"Maa itni bhi kya emergency hai."

"ab jiski date fix ho rahi hai use to koi excitement nahi hai ab main bhi chup chap rahoon to kaise chalega."

"Theek hai agar phone off hua to main tumhe call kar lunga jab main free honga. Pakka. 12 ke bad koi bhi meeting nahi hai aj ."

"Agar 12:15 tak tune mujhe call nahi kiya na to us ke bad phone bhi mat karna ."

"Ab jaun main?"

"Jaise main kahoongi ruk jao beta aur tum ruk jaoge."

Mayank just glared at her nautanki and went out.

Mayank after recalling the incident immediately looked at the time.

"Shit 2 baj gaye ab to Ma mujhe maar dhalegi."

Saying this he instantly dialled her number.

Shilpa was at home when she received the call.

"Abhi 12 baje hai."

"Ma wo actually."

"Kuch nahi sunna mujhe tu ab bas ghar aa wahi baat karungi mai tujhse."

Saying this she cut the call.

"Tu toh gaya Mayank"

Mayank knew he was in trouble so he decided to go home early.

When Mayank reached the house Shilpa was angry which was visible from her face.

"Aj itni jaldi ap agaye din ke 3 baje hai raat ke nahi jo ap abhi agaye."

"Maa please samjho na."

"Bohot samjh lia maine Mayank aur nahi."

"Dekho ma."

"Kuch nahi dekhna hai na sunna hai mujhe."

"Acha ma aj maaf kar do ab next time se pakka nahi hoga."

"Har bar tu yehi bolta hai."

"Iss baar pakka ma."

"Main ek hi shart par man jaungi."

Mayank saw a ray of hope in it so he immediately said

"Han bolo Ma."

"Par pehle promise kar ki tu karega ?"

Mayank had no option but to agree to it.

"Han ma promise."

"Tu aj Nupur ko dinner ke liye le ja."

On hearing this his face lost colour and he looked in distress

"ma ye kaisi shart hai.Dinner pe hum dono chal te hai"

"Nahi ap Nupur ko lekar jayenge warna mujhse kabhi baat karne ki zarurat nahi hai."

"Ok Maa but main kaise like Nupur ke sath kaise."

"Tu itni chinta mat kar bas sham me tayyar ho jana."

"Theek hai."

Mayank said this to her and started moving towards his room

"Ye kaisi mushkil me dhal dia Bhagwan mujhe tune"
