He is hypocritical and flawed. But it's because of his lifestyle.. He sees the way his sister is, his mom is, the way their house lacks, the flaws he has in himself.. He doesn't want his wife to have those too. Which isn't wrong except honestly practice what you preach dude. If you don't want anyone to touch your wife why do you do it to other's? It's like saying respect me and honour me when really your not worthy of it nor deserve it since you do illegal things.

@Hinna haan wo tou i agree...we were discussing the issue generally...but for Asmara, Zaroon knows her very well..n thats why he was reluctant for the engagement..
what he's saying isnt wrong...but theres no point of saying it now

Well saying it isnt wrong, but the way he is forcing her is wrong! I know hes like that because of his family but I still dont understand why he agreed to egt engaged to her:S he should have made his expectations clear to her BEFORE the engagement not after

I think Zaroon is the typical desi guy. They're all over the place before getting married/engaged..and they're ready to accept any woman with her flaws..yet when it comes to commitment then they start their nitpicking - ohh don't do this..don't do that. I think every desi guy more or less wants a wife like Kashaf in the back of their heads..it just hits them once they're about to get married. I think this is how it is with MOST of them..there are exceptions though.

Other than that..Zaroon is def hypocritical..he tells Asmara not to hang out with her guy friends yet here he's trying to get Kashaf's number and this week he'll try to take it even a step further..and I'm sure he'll STILL be engaged to Asmara while he's at it all. 😆

Lets be real..this is a story..and we all love Fawad & Sanam..but in reality we'd all find Zaroon thus far..pretty annoying..possibly a jerk. 😆

I understand where Zaroon is coming from and just dislike fake liberal values...which are completely alien to our culture leave alone religion
I also admire his honesty but I also think he should really practice what he preaches
And Zaroon is nowhere inspired from religion what he is preaching is also a form of male dominant culture...one set of rules for males another set for females
Also I remember from the novel when Kashaf is about to deliver Zaroon says that Mein Allah se dua karunga ...so Kashaf's very happy that Zaroon who is a secular who hardly prays for the first time mentions about faith in God for her

Kashaf is flawed too..but isn't everyone? the difference is she's not a hypocrite..Zaroon is though..and Zaroon more or less knows it.

He never loved Asmara..it was more or less infatuation and the fact that they've been friends since forever and her forcing him to marry her...it was just rushed.. He's also shown to be confused as it's not like he had any other girl in his mind who he could see as his future wife...he could've possibly thought oh Asmara is the one..and now with life moving forward, he's realizing they have nothing in common.

That whole talk between him & Usama was there to show us how Zaroon is a confused soul...and has no idea why he even got engaged to Asmara. With that said, I don't think Zaroon is a bad person at all...him and Asmara could try sorting out their differences if they want to..but Asmara too seems hot headed and not willing to change her lifestyle now that she's committed. Realistically speaking..once your married, or about to get married..your priorities do start changing.

The fact that he'll end up with a girl like Kashaf shows that Zaroon's just childlike for now and if he were to stick with Asmara in life..he would've just become more stubborn etc.

It's an interesting issue actually ...and I agree the stuff you wrote about being looked down upon back home
It's much easier to practise religion in the west because then you only follow what you want to not what people expect from you 😳
