Anjali looked up hearing a knock on her door. "Mamiji, did you need something?" Manorama walked in and stood next to the bed and asked. "Anjali, how are you feeling?" Manorama sat down and took Anjali's hand. "I know it must be so stressful with everything that has been happening in this house". Anjali looked away. "Mamiji, it's all Khushi's fault. I can't believe Chotte can be so blind. She tricked him, just like she tricked all of us Mamiji. I feel so helpless." Manorama shook her head and touched Anjali's face. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine soon. You should take care of your health and your baby, Anjali. That is what is more important." Manorama raised her eyebrows and asked, "So how is your house construction going? What did damadji say?" Anjali's face lit up. "He said the construction will resume again. Right now he is having some issues with the contractor. But he said the house is almost done." Manorama nodded and asked, "Do you need money, Anjali? I mean, did damadji need lots of money to negotiate with the contractor?" Anjali smiled, "Mami don't worry about it. Yeah, he said he had to pay about two lakhs, but he said the contractor is finally coming around." Manorama raised her eyebrows again, "Two lakhs? When was this?" Anjali looked confused, "When? I think last month. Why Mamiji?" Manorama shook her head, as she thought. But Arnav bitwa said Damadji took twenty lakhs in the last two weeks. Something doesn't add up. Is Damadji hiding something? Is that why he accused phati sari? I have to do investigation. "Mami", Anjali called out her name and touched Manorama's shoulder. "Hmm.. yes yes.. Anjali bitiya I wanted to see the house. Maybe I will go check it out." Anjali's face lit up and a smile appeared on her face. "You know what, I will come with you too. He keeps telling me that he will take me there once it is done, but I really want to see it. Let me go get the address." Manorama wondered, should I take Anjali with me? What if.. what if something is wrong? Will she be able to handle it? Well it is better she finds it out now when I'm there to help her, rather than later when maybe she might have no support! "Ok, Anjali. Get the address and let us go."
"What?" Khushi and Payal were setting up the table for lunch, when Khushi heard Arnav's voice. (Ok, please assume that Khushi is fine now.. she can walk on her own.. the pain has almost gone thanks to Arnav's love and care. π I am sorry, I know I try to keep my stories as realistic as possible, but here I need the gunshot wound to heal fast to take the story forward! Please forgive me!) She looked up and saw Arnav walking down the stairs and towards the dining room. "Aman, what do you mean you have no clue? Why do I pay you? I pay you money to do your job properly. I need information tonight, else you are fired." Arnav sat down furiously at the table and Nani , nk and Akash looked up. "Arnav bitwa, is everything alright?" Nani asked. Arnav was about to reply, his face still furious. But his face softened, as he saw Khushi walk towards him. He stood up and helped her sit down on the chair. "Arnavji, I am much better now. I don't need.. " Khushi started saying, but Arnav interrupted. "Khushi, don't tell me what to do, ok. Let me take care of you." Khushi smiled as she sat down. "Bhai", Arnav looked up as Akash called him. "What is wrong? What were you asking Aman about?" Arnav started to say something, when he noticed Shyam walking towards them. "Akash, I asked Aman to hire an investigator to look into my kidnapping, to find out who kidnapped me and why and the investigator found nothing. Nothing, Akash! Nothing!" Arnav looked at Shyam from the corner of his eye. Shyam had stopped and was listening to Arnav's conversation; Arnav saw a smirk appear on Shyam's face. "Arnav bitwa, maybe we should inform the police", Nani said. Before Arnav could answer, Shyam sat down on the table opposite to Khushi and said, "Naniji, Arnav knows what he is doing. I don't see any need in involving the police either. Then the media will get to know about it and the kidnappers will be alerted." He looked at Arnav and Arnav nodded, "Yes, Nani, Jijaji is right. I don't want media getting hold of this news. Nani," Arnav looked around. "where is Di? and Mami?" Arnav looked at Payal, as she answered. "Arnavji, they went out a while earlier. Nani, they asked me to tell you and Shyamji that they might be a bit late. They went shopping for the baby and for Di's new house." Nani was about to say something when Arnav said. "Akash, let us go. Nani, I am going back to office today." Arnav looked at Khushi; she made a sad pouty face and looked away. Arnav touched her shoulder. "Khushi, I want you to listen to Payal and NK. Take your medicines on time and take rest. I don't want you walking around a lot, ok? I will be home soon." Khushi nodded. Arnav leaned closer to her and kissed her forehead. When he pulled away, Khushi saw the smiling faces of Nani, NK, Akash and Payal and she blushed. All Arnav saw was the twitching on Shyam's face. He got up and said, "Akash, let's go." He smiled at Khushi, took her hand, bent down, kissed it and walked away.
"This cannot be possible. I think we might have the wrong address." Anjali shook her head, her eyes wide with shock. The address that Anjali had seen on the property pages was a wasteland, near a river. Manorama knew now that something was wrong, indeed. So what was Damadji using the money for, and he had even lied to Anjali. I need to find out. Manorama put her hand on Anjali's shoulder. "Yeah, I think the address might have been wrong. Don't worry about it. You don't even have to ask Damadji about it. I'm sure it is some printing mistake, Anjali. Let's go home. You need rest."
"Khushiji, why did you call me here? What sob story am I going to hear now?" Shyam asked as he walked across the poolside to the recliner where Khushi was sitting. Khushi got up as Shyam walked towards her, and folded her arms, a furious look on her face. "Keep your voice down, Shyamji. Do you want the whole world to know about my plan? Oh wait, you did tell everyone. You broke my trust Shyamji. Is this why I told you my plans? So that you can go and tell everyone about it?" Shyam stopped in his tracks and listened to Khushi, his eyes wide with shock. "Khushiji, what do you mean? I broke your trust?" He shook his head. "Another lie. Lie after lie, Khushiji, why? Why did you tell me you were going to take revenge on Arnav and then go find him and," Shyam walked quickly towards Khushi and grabbed her arms. "and why did you take the bullet that was meant for him?" Khushi looked at Shyam, "I don't need to answer all your questions. All I wanted to tell you today was that I am very disappointed. I thought I could trust you. Now I know that everything you told me that day on the terrace was a lie. You never loved me, if you loved me, you would not be able to stand and watch everyone accuse me of betrayal" Khushi closed her eyes. "Why, Shyamji?" Shyam stepped closer to Khushi and took her face in his hands. "You didn't answer my question. Why did you take the bullet for Arnav?" Khushi pushed his hands away and said, "You want to know, well listen. I went to find him because I needed him at Shantivan, so that I can see him in pain, pain caused by me. How could I let him die, Shyamji? A bullet in his abdomen? No, I wanted to see him suffer more and suffer slowly as I destroy everything that he always loved.. his money.. his Di.. his family.." Khushi said, her eyes filled with fury. "In a way, I am glad I took the bullet, because now he believes me." Khushi smirked, "He believes me so much he even turned against his whole family for me. He is already suffering Shyamji, and I am so happy.. so happy to see him in pain. Now I will pretend to love him too and the day that I destroy him, it will hurt him even more; he will be shattered!" Khushi looked at Shyam and folded her arms again. "So when are you going to go and tell everyone what I told you now? Go ahead, Shyamji. Do whatever you want, but Arnavji won't believe you, in fact no one will believe you now. I am slowly getting everyone on my side. The only regret I have is that I have to keep pretending that I love Arnavji, when all I want is.. all I want is.. " Shyam touched Khushi's shoulder again. "Sshh.. Khushiji.. ssshhh.. Don't worry. I will help you. You can trust me." "Trust you? After you went and told everyone that I was trying to steal Arnavji's money? Anyways, I don't care what anyone thinks about me.. I don't.. " Shyam put his hands on Khushi's shoulders and turned her to face him. "Khushiji, I know deep down you trust me, in fact I think you trust only me. Who else can you go to for help? You can't go to your Jiji, you can't go to anyone in this family. You have only me, Khushiji. Only me. But you should trust me. I'm sorry, Khushiji. When I heard you took a bullet for Arnav, I thought you had been lying to me. I thought you loved him and you betrayed me, my love, you shattered the faith I had in our love. I was so angry, that I.." "How did you know I took a bullet for Arnavji? You told everyone about my love for money before you came to the hospital, right. " Khushi asked, her eyes filled with suspicion. Shyam raised his eyebrows and said, stammering. "The doctor had said that you were shot and I .. I just assumed.. anyways that's not important." He took Khushi's face in his hands and said, "What is important is that I will help you. I will help you take revenge on Arnav and get his money. Trust me, Khushiji. I promise that you wouldn't have to pretend to love Arnav for long, Khushiji. Just a few more days and you will have his money in your hands. Do you trust me, Khushiji? Say it, Khushiji. Do you trust me?" Khushi looked at him, with her doe-like eyes filled with tears, but then her face turned to anger. She pushed his hands away. "Yes, I trust you, but that doesn't mean you can touch me. I am desperate, which is why I had to come to you for help. But I haven't forgotten what you have done to me, to my family; I still hate you for that, Shyamji. So keep your hands off me. What we are doing is pure business; don't dream about anything else, ok? So keep your hands off me." Shyam put his hands on Khushi's face again and she became furious and screamed, "Shyamji, I said keep your hands off me." and she pushed his hands away. She took a few steps back and turned around and started walking towards her bedroom when she heard, "You are here. I have been looking all over for you." She turned around to see Anjali walk towards Shyam. "Can you come with me?" Khushi's eyes became wide and filled with shock, Oh no, what did Di hear? Khushi walked quickly into the bedroom, without looking back. "Rani Sahiba?" Shyam's eyes widened in shock. He said, stammering, "You are back already. I.. was.. just.. Khushiji was just trying to convince me that everything was just a misunderstanding. I.. I.. was just trying to.." Anjali touched his face. "It's ok. I just want you to stay away from her. She has already stolen my brother from me. I don't want her stealing you too.." Tears ran down Anjali's face. "No..no.. Rani Sahiba. No one can steal me away from you. I love you a lot, Rani Sahiba". He wiped her tears and hugged Anjali, thinking, soon.. Khushiji, we will be one. I can't wait for that day. Anjali smiled, but Khushi's words Shyamji, I said keep your hands off me were echoing in her mind.
When Shyam walked in to the dining room, everyone was seated around the table having dinner. Khushi was talking to Nani, but Mami looked up when Shyam walked in. "Damadji, so how is the construction going?" Shyam smiled as he sat down next to Anjali, "It is going smoothly, Mamiji. In fact I just spoke to the contractor today and he is resuming the building construction. Rani Sahiba, we will have our house before our little princess arrives". He hugged Anjali and looked at Khushi, whose eyes were furious. Shyam smiled, I know you don't want to admit it, Khushiji, but deep down I know you love me. I can see the jealousy in your eyes when you see me with Rani Sahiba. "Oh good, good", Manorama smiled and turned to Khushi. "No, phati sari, don't lift the bowl. Let me get it for you." Manorama leaned forward and took the bowl filled with dal and kept it near Khushi. "Oh wait, I will serve some for you. How much do you need?" Anjali's eyes were wide with shock, as Manorama took a spoon of dal and poured in the bowl in front of Khushi. Khushi smiled and started saying thanks, when Anjali stood up. "Mamiji, Nani, what is wrong with all of you? How could you.. how could you trust her? Have you forgotten the property papers? Are you falling for her tricks again? How can you be so blind? All of you, even Chotte, all of you are just.. how can you blindly trust her like this?" She walked to Khushi, her face furious. "I am putting an end to this drama today". Anjali's face was furious. She grabbed Khushi's arm; Khushi shook her head and Nani and Manorama started saying something, as Anjali pulled Khushi by her arm and walked towards the door. Payal and NK walked in, just as Anjali almost reached the front door. "Di", Payal screamed and NK and Payal ran to the front door. Anjali threw the front door open and pushed Khushi out the door. Khushi screamed as she lost her balance and she realized that she was going to hit the wall opposite to the door, but then she felt a hand on her arm. She was pulled and she crashed into someone.
Precap: "Let me help you, Khushiji". Shyam brought his face close to Khushi's face, his lips brushing against her hair, as she poured tea into a cup. "Get away from me", Khushi screamed, the tea pot fell on the ground and broke into pieces.
