Madiha Iftikhar says she takes different characters as a challenge

Tell us how long have you been an actor? From where did you get started?

I always enjoyed it playing different characters is always a challenge for me and people recognizes me with different character names, which gives me courage to work more.

What projects are you currently working on?

I am doing a soap Meri Behan Meri Devrani for ARY, Jhoomer another soap for Express Entertainment and a serial by 7 Sky Productions.

What kind of roles have you performed throughout your career? Are you satisfied with them?

I always did positive leads and prefer to do something different. But these days I am doing negative role and I am enjoying it too.

Which has been your favorite character that you have performed?

There are many. I enjoyed my first project Partition Ek Safar. Then I played Bengali character which is completely different to what I am. Kitni Girhein Baqi Hain I which I played role of a paralyzed girl, Sirf Ek Baar so I like all of them.

Who is your favorite actor?

I like Kajol. She's natural and brilliant. And off course Amir Khan is great actor.

You also hosted morning show for short time. How was the experience?

I hosted Good Morning Pakistan for two weeks and I got to know its a wonderful job it has its own time table which really suits me because I wasn't a permanent host and was doing acting at the same time so it makes me tired everyday was a long daylight so hosting itself is a full time job.

Who are your favorite designers?

My favorite designer in Pakistan is Ayesha Warsi. She's good in eastern wear and all sort of dressing. My clothes are always being designed by Aliya Imam who herself is a great actor and director but still a good mother and a good designer.

What do you do in your spare time?

I spend it with my family my parents and friends, hanging out going for vacations to Islamabad and stuff like that.

Are there people in the media industry that you really look up to or would perceive almost as a mentor?

Yes my mentor is Rana Sheikh a famous director ofPakistan. I look up to Uzma Gillani, Badar Khalil, Asif Raza Mir, Talat Hussain, Marina Khan, Shehnaz Sheikh and Khalida Riyasat.

Where do you like to shop?

Not one place. I can shop wherever find good stuff it doesn't matter which country which mall which place it's my own choice.

How would you describe your personal style?

I am very casual but still up to date.

Be professional and be confident in what you are doing. Please respect your parents and be a good and proud Pakistani.
