It's importanf to have faith & love for the almighty. But, keeping that faith under adverse circumstances is not easy. We may think that Him rescuing us is a test. But doing our Karma is very important. We have go through tough situations in life because of the soul learning that has to happen so that spiritual progress can happen. Some things have to be endured, some lessons need to be learnt in life. Some karmic debt that we need to pay. Have complete faith and do our karma as we should. The entire journey through hardship and pain is important before self realisation can happen.

Very True, defeating your ego is important and most difficult of all.

Even people with vast knowledge loose everything because of it. Ego and pride can make one blind. That's why we should learn to be humble. True bhakti call for humility.

Even in Bhakti one should always be devoid of any ego.

I remember watching an episode of Shani where Lord Shiva's most true bhakt Nand..Shani is unable to defeat Nand due to the strength he gets from his devotion to Shivji. Shani cunningly remarks at Nand to rile him up, immediately Nand reacts with ego in his head and Shani is able to defeat him. Shani tells Nand that with a mind swelled with ego, even God can't help you!
