THIS. This had been , has been and still is Jodha's greatest fear. That all she has against Jalaal is her elusive feminine pride , her chastity and her exceptional value of being a Beghum who refused to be his toy and refused to have her body and heart marked by him. This was the MAIN WALL of her fortress - that am untouched, pristine , virginal and if I don't give my heart to him, I don't give him my honour either.
But... thanks to the stormy weather , thanks to Jalaal's chhicchorapanti of hopping on the khemaa bed to check out the sleeping beauty of his Jodha Beghum , thanks to Jodha's instant offence and defence on finding Jalaal so close to her and sleeping on his hand, thanks to Jodha's allegation stemming from her fear psychosis instilled by Daayan Angaa and Ruqqu , thanks to Jodha's stubborn self-freezing, thanks to Jalaal's furious " freeze hokar iceberg ban jaao" jhaadh, thanks to Jodha's fragile health and final thanks to Shere Khwaja's last resort to awaken the ice queen...all these fears of Jodha and warnings of Daayan Angaa and Ruqqu are manifesting tomorrow.
I don't know what school Daayan Angaa went to ,but as far as my education is concerned, giving someone 'body heat' is diagonally opposite to having a sexual intercourse with them. I mean, the way Daayan Angaa was smirking and gloating that how Jodha will lose her fill-in-the-blanks to Jalaal, it seemed like she actually thinks that low of Jalaal? That Jalaal will actually do the kaand with Jodha in this state of hers because he has the chance and advantage? Its true that Jalaal craves Jodha and he has a massive physical attraction towards her but he'd rather win her in her senses than behave like the Fateechar gang. Either Daayan Angaa is illiterate or else she actually believes that Jalaal is a sadak chhaap gunda who forces himself on women when they are asleep?
Of course, this body heat by Jalaal to Jodha will drop the veil of draped physicality between them . Jodha will suddenly become exposed, vulnerable and embarrassed and what not in her POV of how Jalaal sees her. I mean, the shock , embarrassment and psychological gnawing that a man , a husband you happen to keep at miles , has seen you in that state and has been THAT close to you is not something that any woman can easily deal with. Its not the same as letting Jalaal have his conjugal rights , but since Jodha has no memory of the act and was unconscious throughout , her trauma can only be imagined. That too in 1500s when the size of your dupatta and the stress on your honour was longer than your height and heavier than your weight. Jodha is going to be totally devastated.

Coming to Jalaal. Yes, he is crazy about Jodha's personality , he is besotted with her beauty , he looks for reasons to touch her, stare at her and do all the chhicchorapanti possible , but he is not the kind to do to hanky-panky with her against her will. Winning her and having her is different - taking advantage of a chance provided by a natural and a dumbness disaster? Nah! Ye Jalaal ka style nahin hai.
Today Jalaal was in those " You cannot maneuver your thoughts and actions 24x7 mode" ( Credit : Roggie Beghum) . And it began from the start of the episode itself because it was a situation that he didn't create. It came on its own to test him and let him do some introspection.
1. Jalaal looks at Jodha's shocked tear-filled face and he recalls the promise he made to her - that he will not pull out the weapon first. The sword goes back in its place, his temper cools down and he straightaway tells Achal Uncle that you are alive because i made a commitment to my wife.
2. Jalaal throws another bouncer your way. His emphasizing the honour of a Mughal King not only included teaching that Bhukkad a lesson , but also showing greatness parallel to his dark side. Keep the fort , but am giving it as a gift to Sukanya . Its hers and remember it all your life that Jalaal GIFTED this fort to Sukanya as a brother-in-law , nobody arm twisted me into giving it by force or emotional blackmail. I am pragmatic , but not cheap.
3. When Jodha questions him that is that fort had so many personal memories and it was such a dear possession to him, why did he give it to Sukanya? She was married and you had won it back. You are such a great emperor that who thought what of you wouldn't have affected you. But Jalaal answers her what he himself is just beginning to realize - It matters to me what your people think about me - and now, don't ask me why because i have no answer. When Jodha leaves the hojraa with a thoughtful expression, Jalala questions himself - Why does her opinion of me matter to me so much? Am i really ruffled by what Jodha thinks of me?
4. Later , when he sees Jodha in all her shivering Rapunzel beauty sitting like a dessert plate on the bed ( don't blame me for the term .Its Jalaal ki chhicchora type nazar) - you can clearly see just how much he desires her. To see her, to gaze at her, sit close to her, unsettle her - it just feeds something inside him. Its carnal, yes. But its a magnetic pull as well. Jalaal cannot keep himself away from her. When Jodha falls asleep, Jalaal recalls when he had seen her for the first time - he cannot help but get up from the settee and sit next to her - watch her sleep, admire how beautiful she is , move his hand so many times to touch her but always pulling back. The attraction is not in Jalaal's control but thankfully, his actions are. Fatal attraction , but with a dash of tenderness and RESTRAINT.
5. When Jalaal sits next to a blue and white Jodha , patting her head , stroking her eyebrows with a thumb and a very pensive and tense expression on his face, wondering what the next daybreak will bring if he drops all the veils between himself and her to save her life - you see a man who maybe fatally attracted to this woman but is not willing to cross the line at all unless she takes a step.
And then... KABOOOMMM!
Kal Jalaal ki shaamat aayegi aur Jodha Jalaal ko apne hi khoon ke boiling pot mein jalaake uska Mughlai Stew banaa deggi. Jab ninni karne gayee thi , tab tak Jalaal trespasser tha aur wo private property thi . Jab hosh mein aayegi , tab tak Jalaal Jodha ka poora anatomy diagram banaane ki position mein aa chukaa hogaa...😆
From an objective POV , its easy to understand the situation because what Jalaal has done is basically a medical therapy to make the blood warm and rush through the veins and arteries so that the heart can pump and restore normal heartbeats.
But if you look at it from JJ's POV and putting a man-woman situation for a couple that had clear red lines drawn as far as physicality was concerned... its way TOO COMPLICATED. What will Jalaal explain and what will Jodha understand? How will Jalaal ever explain that giving her body heat and outraging her modesty are two different things? Looking at Jodha's often sensitive and mercurial state of mind and sentiments, we have no idea how she will take this and deal with it. Just how torturous will Daayan Angaa and Ruqqu become with her and make here believe that Jalaal has used her and trashed her? There is no way Jalaal and Jodha can look at each-other the same way ever again by rule of story graph because what has happened between them is too personal even if its not exactly sexual. How long will it take Jodha to see reason that Jalaal did this only to keep her alive and will Jalaal even make much efforts to convince her that he did not villainy with her.
JJ are temperamental and mercurial. This body heat is going to send both of them to the Equator.
On the lighter side of it, saari galtee Jalaal ki hai! Who told him to leave the settee and koodofy on the bed to stare at her? Upar se apnaa haath Jodha ke gusse waale cheek ke neeche fansaa liyaa. Aur upar se woh carnal shikaar karnewaali aankhein! Abb Jodha neeyat pe shaque nahin karegi toh kya desi ghee ke laddoo banaa banaa ke khilaayegi?
Bechaara Jalaal. Accha aadmi tha ...abb kya pataa kal Jodha ke vikraal roop ke baad yahee dialogue maarna pade?
P.S- In the precap, Jalaal look at her face and give that jaahil Jodha some assurance that you just gave her body heat , not hormones ki heat, man. If you give such riddle-like answers , Jodha tujhe hi zindaa jalaa deggi.
P.P.S- The moment of the episode has to be Jalaal thoughtfully and pensively stroking Jodha's eyebrow and head , trying to fathom that what he is going to do is going to change the stakes between them.
Jalaal's devious mind was on vacation today. Totally. Except for the desire of course, which comes running out whenever he recalls how beautiful his chudail Jodha Beghum is.
