Gauhar Khan was born into a Muslim family in Pune, Maharashtra on August 23, 1981 (age 32 years). She is the youngest of 5 siblings and the sister of Indian Television and Bollywood actress, Nigaar Khan. She completed her schooling from Mount Carmel Convent School, Pune.

Career

Modelling

In 2002, she participated in Femina Miss India contest and came fourth and Represented in India in Miss International contest that year.Gauhar Khan has acted in a couple of television ads Ford Ikon and Tanishq jewellery. She has also modeled for Manish Malhotra.

She ruled Indian Fashion World for four years 2002-2006.

Television

Gauhar Khan started off with appearances in a couple of music videos. She has anchored the film gossip show Page 3 on Zoom Television.Recently she had participated in a popular celebrity dance show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa where she ended up as the runner up.

Gauhar Khan along with her sister Nigaar Khan appeared in a TV show "The Khan Sisters" which was Indian version of "Keeping up with the Kardashians". The show follows their life including modeling shows, auditions and interviews though the lavish setting of these starlets suggests much is staged.

In Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 she paired up with Gurmeet Choudhary, who later became the winner of the show.

Films

Gauhar started her career with the 2003 film Miss India: The Mystery. She also did an item song for the 2004 Madhur Bhandarkar film, Aan: Men at Work. She has played an important role in theYash Raj film, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year starring Ranbir Kapoor, which was released in December 2009. Recently she did another item song Parda Parda.. which became very famous of 2010 release Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. She has also acted in a supporting role in Ishaqzaade.

New Delhi: A week back what started off as a friendship between Kushal and Gauhar, seems to have entered a new phase now. Kushal and Gauhar, who recently shifted to the jannat section of the house, are pretty close and Kushal never misses a chance to project the same. On day 12, when Bigg Boss calls in the jannat inmates to cast their wish at the wishing wall, a few ask for mutton and fish. But Kushal enters the wishing wall area and takes Gauhar's name. Later, he himself tells Gauhar about the same, though she takes it in a sporting manner and makes fun of Kushal. He is quite hurt by her reaction. Even the house inmates are not unaware of the developments on Kushal and Gauhar front and with the entry of Asif Azim, there seems to be a rift between the two. Pratyusha and Kamya discuss that with Asif's entry; there would be new twists in Kushal and Gauhar's friendship. Also, Armaan makes fun of the three and says the three are busy making their own Yash Chopra film. On the other hand, Asif Azim is called in by Bigg Boss to give two names for captaincy. Asif nominates Armaan and Tansiha for the post of captain. Later in the day, the jahanum inmates are asked to cast their votes and for the second time in row, Tanisha is elected as the captain of the house. Armaan seems unhappy as he believes that everyone should get the chance to become the captain. Later in the day, Bigg Boss assigns a task to Shilpa to introduce Asif to other inmates of the house. According to the task, every member in the house has to tag other housemate basis characteristics written on a card. Later, the person who has been tagged needs to guess the name of the housemate who gave him/her that tag. During this session, Kamya lashes out of Gauahar and tags her as 'Jhoothi'. She connects this back to their argument regarding the swap and blames her over and over again to have lied to them about nominations. With new twists and turns happening in the house, it would be interesting to see what happens next.

What is wrong with these gossip-queens (and gossip-king Armaan😉)?? 😆 They need to just chill out and play their own games. Let the two (or three?) entertain us with something other than shouting, frowning and back-biting!

Bigg Boss 7: Pratyusha feels Gauhar didn't want to let go off Kushal but why?

Gauhar nominates herself and Kushal after Bigg Boss assigned her the duty of selecting two people from the Hell side who performed the best in the luxury task. Kamya who does not agree with Gauhar accuses her of taking the decision without taking the consensus of others.

Kamya feels that Gauhar was duty-bound to consult everybody in the team. Instead she mislead them by saying the ultimate decision will be hers alone. Pratyusha seems to agree with Kamya and says that her suggestion was not even considered. Gauhar gets visibly upset and attempts to explain that she did ask them for their opinion but she did not get a proper response from anyone.

After Gauhar has left, Pratyusha remarks that she took this decision because she wanted to be with Kushal and didn't want to let go off him. Now, now, is Gauhar genuinely fond of Kushal or her decision is part of her game plan?
