Dear Dadi, my Khushi vs your Anjali

You seem to think that my Khushi is not good enough and your precious Anjali is perfect. Well Dadi

here are some facts for you! I hope they will open your eyes.

my Khushi also lost her parents at an early age, but this made her strong and independent. Your

Anjali has still not learnt to deal with it.

My Khushi was forced into marriage and her dreams were cruely shattered, but she maintained her

dignity, lived with her Shaitan, in his house but had her eyes open to the reality of her sham marriage.

Your Anjali lives in a make believe world and does not want to face reality.

My Khushi made her sasural her home inspite of having a husband who hated her, your Anjali has

made no serious effort to make her own home or connect with her sasural, inspite of having a

husband who she thinks adores her.

To preserve your Anjali's world my Khushi destroyed her own, your Anjali resented the few loving

moments her Chote spent with Khushi on her birthday, just because she was unhappy.

When my Khushi's husband was missing she put her own life at risk to save a man who had given her

pain, because she loved him.

When your Anjali's husband was thrown out, rather than fight for him, or walk out with him, she just

sneakily kept meeting him, continued to enjoy the lavish comforts of her Chote's home, and closed her

eyes to the ugly reality of her husbands alleged role in her brother's kidnap.

You really think, your Anjali is a bechari and my Khushi is not good enough for your grandson?

Really Dadiji!

Thanks for making this post. Very true indeed. I liked the way you thought. People like Anjali likes to cry no matter what. I wonder if that's her hobby!!

I really feel that Anjali's character is very confusing!

I wish I could figure out Anjali better, why does she stay in her maika, and has not made a separate home for herself and her shame ji

I had longed to see a strong anjali, alas it never came true. Remember the scene when arnav tells anjali that he married Khushi for her sake and that he never loved her when he married her? Instead of probing him why he did what he did and what he found out, she chose to continue to live in a world of fantasy and trust her husband which by itself was a betrayal towards her brother, if you ask me, who sacrificed his everything for her sake. To me, anjali was the most self centred character of ipkknd. Even mamiji displayed some selfless nature when it came to her niece and nephew. But anjali, I was disappointed.

I agree completely with you, she came across as someone totally self absorbed and delusional.

I think the writers did not know how to portray her, she, though a good actor, could not rise above the script and portray Anjali as a complex character and so she was reduced to this weak, sneaky parasite who never thought beyond her own happiness, chote be damned!
