Kanchi Kaul sacked!

Kanchi Kaul is ousted from Ek Ladki Anjaani Si owing to temper tantrums and an incessant demand for more money. Sai Deodhar takes over

Kanchi Kaul had it coming for a while. Notorious for her temper tantrums and unprofessional behaviour on the sets since the inception of Ek Ladki… Kanchi has finally been shown the door.

Throwing light on the issue, creative director, Sony TV, Sandiip Sikcand says, "Kanchi's behaviour on the sets has been unprofessional. She would not co-operate with the production team to shoot promotion capsules, etc. She would not even give them adequate time for shooting. She has been very high-handed."

Sources on the sets add that she would lose her temper at the smallest things and would often put the shooting on hold on some pretext or the other. "She would refuse to shoot with the air-conditioner off. Or, would take hours do her hair and keep yelling at her hair-dresser. She would also object to anybody smoking on the sets. Her rudeness even drove Mohnish Behl out of the show."

Apparently, the actress demanded a hike in her current remuneration as well. Since she was given a considerable raise recently (she gets around Rs 50,000 per episode), her demand shocked the channel. Sikcand says, "Yes, that is true. Kanchi's attitude towards money was strange. Not only did she quote an unbelievable sum, but also threatened to not report for shooting if her demands were not met. Apparently she said, 'I will talk about dates only when my remuneration is discussed.' Later, she called me to say that all this was untrue. However, when I made some channel representatives call her, she again threatened to not report for shooting. I heard her on the speaker phone this time, so there was no doubt left in my mind. So, we decided to replace her with Sai Deodhar."

Co-producer Misha Gautam says, "Sai is coming on the show as Anuradha Rai. Actually, we are yet looking into the story." When contacted, Sai Deodhar said that she had joined the show because the channel was keen on casting her in one of their serials.

Kanchi Kaul did not take our call, or answer our messages, despite repeated attempts.

WHAT??? 😕 That is soo not right,how come there never was any news about Kanchi's tantrums before?Nor from her co-stars articles and nor from hers so how come all of a sudden now!!!I hate this!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm never gonna watch ELAS ever again 😡 And Shakti's own wife is the new Anu,wow thats such a great twist....................................................... ...NOT!!!!

I know, I just saw that article.. hmm.. interesting.. hadn't heard of her tantrums till today.. would be interesting to see Sai and Shakti together ;) they make such a darling pair.. Ananya's character was getting dumber and melodramatic by the minute, hope the directors make the new Anuradha a little more intelligent and the show worth watching...

Perhaps,"Anu"radha will be Anu's daughter! There was an article when Mohnish Behl had joined ELAS about him and Kanchi working together and never did he mention,Kanchi threw tantrums on the sets!!!

Exactly!!!I also think all this is made up.Veer gone,old Meera gone,Tullika gone...why?ELAS isnt doing very well thats why everyones quitting.Now nobody cares about them but Kanchi had the main part so they had to say something why she left.They cant say that Kanchi left because ELAS isnt doing so good so thats why they're making up stories.But why spoil Kanchi's image
