Depends on ones interpretation, it can lead to slavery but it can also lead to freedom. Dont blame the religion for it blame peoples interpretation. Dont blame the knife for the murder as knife also has several other uses.

Niketan just said hugest form of slavery is religion in the live feed to delnaaz and sapna. He goes on to say that it's a controversial statement and hope it doesn't get airted.
What a poor statement
3) Some on their own commented on religion as form of slavery as if this was some sort of debate that was started. I commented on his behavior of giving us his gayans before doing some basics. When people probed I explained why I was irritated by this idiot.
4) In every topic there are many comments that are not related to the topic and I seem to have missed this scruitny there.
I am not that insecure about my faith that I will mind stupid comments made by someone who I considered an idiot. It does not affect me 1 bit. I am verry happy with my beliefs. lol.

Hope people will move on.

Why so Sirius? 🤡

Yeah, it's not DM, that's why I just joked around, no need to explain things. 😆 You commented on the guy, I commented on why you commented on the guy and so on. 😛

Niketan is right in his words. His reference is too any kind of fundamentalist or right wing or organized religion. He means no offense to GOD or any religion in particular.

I actually like having DM in me. I prefer to debate and discuss than just make silly comments. Not that I don't indulge once in a while.

This is the problem when you have the majority of the country indoctrinated by religion and superstition from a very young age. It is a good thing they did not air Niketan's comment. because if they had, the lynch mob would be after him calling for his head and he would be in trouble even when he gets out. Because the majority of Indians are intolerant and idiotic to anti religious views..

First of all, one is not more moral or superior because they are religious. The scripts and texts written in religious books are thousands of years old when people had different set of morals and an inferior understanding of the universe and the books reflect it.

Society has evolved since then and we base our morals and societal laws on human well being... And we dont need the crutch of the imaginary sky daddy to be good people and treat people well... All religion does is divide people into sects to fight for moral superiority and for their flawed and non evidence based view of the universe.

It is no coincidence that the most atheistic societies in the world like most Scandinavian countries with about 85% non religious people always rank the lowest in crime, rape, teenage pregnancies,STDs, corruption and rank the highest in women empowerment and general societal health. But criticizing religion seems to be a taboo when it's flaws are as clear as day.

To put Niketan's statements in perspective, you are a slave when some other person, group or entity controls your life and decisions rather than your own free will and conscience. A person could become enslaved to friends, family, school, work, country or anything under the sun when they give up their sovereignty. None of these things are meant to be enslaving. It depends on whether people retain the capacity to think and act for themselves.

To give a crude example. We don't know everything, so we often need directions, help or guidance. When we travel, we may look at a map or a GPS. But the map or GPS is not perfect. It is built and distributed by humans. Sometimes it might send you to a dead end, turn in the wrong lane, send you on a bad, bumpy road, even drive off a cliff in extreme cases. Luckily we have our intellect and discretion. We are not stupid to drive of cliffs. If we find ourselves lost or feel that the GPS is outdated or misguiding us, we stop, look at alternate sources and ask for better directions. We rely on our intellect to think and act in the right way.

Similarly, we don't know everything in life. We often need directions, help or guidance. Religion is one option people turn to for guidance. But religion is also not perfect. It is preached and promoted by humans. Sometimes it does give messages that are wrong, outdated, unethical and in extreme cases preaches death and destruction. Unfortunately for many people intellect or discretion does not come into play. The view religion as infallible and would rather drive off cliffs than express doubt. Rather than rely on our intellect, take pause and regroup if things are awry religious people get offended and angry if someone says religion is wrong.

If you know when your GPS system/religion is wrong/outdated and can rely on your intelligence to make right decisions, then you are not a slave. If you feel your GPS system/religion is perfect and get mortally offended when someone says it is outdated or has glitches, then you are a slave.
