Rabba ve, pyaari masala ladkiyon!!! 😛 (Oh, how I have missed saying that!)
Sari, you saved your best for last, take a bow for the brilliance that is your post tonight!
Whatay confounding conundrum this is, spice girls. A show that inspired thousands of opinionated words over the last 18 months, ended today leaving me strangely at a loss for words. And believe me when I say this, rendering Monalisa speechless isn't an easy feat to achieve! But of course, tonight's hangout isn't really about tonight at all now, is it?
(1) It may have been sloppy and more oval than round, but we cannot deny that another circle was indeed completed today. Khushi going from the frightened girl teetering on the ramp to being crowned Mrs India today. SKD: Do I really need to spell it out? Falling into ASR's strong arms would have rounded it out very nicely. Even the strong (or not) arms of the BD would have worked swimmingly today. Aaj sab kuch maaf hai, nahin?
(2) So Khushi was upset that Junior hasn't called her "Ma"? Really? Was it just me who missed this memo?
(3) It's truly a pity that parenthood (to an infant) weren't explored, because Arnavji totally looks the part of the sleep-deprived harried new dad. Yes, this had to be said.
(4) IPK wasn't IPK without DHV. This had to be said as well.
(5) And because "5" is the hangout's favorite number, and because I can't help myself, today's episode was the original scenario to end ASRs life or role? Satyanash.
I cannot but help go back to my thoughts after Shaadi 360 'when I had counted off what I thought were all the possible scenarios to jeopardize our favorite couple's life of wedded bliss. Who would have thought of scenario #4382 coming into play.
"Is the next Satyanash round the corner tapping its foot impatiently? You betcha! Will they suddenly decide that Papa Mallick was a Gandhian after all? It's possible. Will Arnav tell Khushi he rues the day he married her? Not sure he won't ever. Will Daiyya ho play yet another dumb trick and embroil the newlyweds in their first ever post-shaadi MU? It's more than likely. Will Dadaji rise from the ashes and name Buaji as another "woh aurat"? Cannot rule out the possibility. Will the rising TRPs tempt the CVs to separate the lovebirds? Lagi sharth. But, but, but, but'' I don't care. At this point, I would like to give the baby IPK my blessing and say, "Go forth and conquer". Whether you touch the pinnacles of success or fizzle out way below your potential, whether I choose to watch you or not, whether your 20 minutes continue to play a significant role in my days or not, I'm happy to have seen this day today. A happy day. Sirf iske liye, bahut bahut dhanyavaad, CVs! "
Despite everything, I'm thrilled to have had IPK in my life. Obsession for a piece of fiction has brought into my life some very real and very wonderful people. And I'm beyond thrilled at the thought of having these people in AD and Arnav-Khushi in SKD. Hamesha hamesha. And to quote from another hangout favorite, "Sapne zaroor dekho, bas unke poore hone ki sharth mat rakho"
Does all this mean I'm going to go trolling around in desi soapland to find a replacement for the obsession? Hell, no!
Rabba ve Rabba ve Rabba ve. 😃
Mona - Loved your post especially the bold...you summed up what most feel. I was also holding onto hope that someday we will have the loops closed one by one and we would all be back discussing the show.
Daiyya Ho was an integral part of IPK and what a lame end he had. Those of us that complain that it ended too soon, should have seen the writing on the wall. Yes, they wanted the happily ever after with the wedding & all else that followed was just forced upon them.
Despite all that, I am glad we all had IPK for the most of this year and some last. Rabba ve...😉
