i was thinking the other day that y most shows lose its momentum or rather mite i say the magic that makes us fall in love with the shows vanishes after 100 episodes...i understand the pressure of TRP and all...and i can excuse unexpected twists and turns...but y character assassination...

i mean in real life also unexpected things happen but people's basic nature does not change...like a person who is gud at heart wont change overnite because something unusual happend...here i am not talking about disasters that make a peaceful man violent and so on...

okie...i think i am rambling on and u guys must be thinking where is this heading...

personally speaking although NBT fell a few notches after 100th episode thanx to new writer-director duo...but still i liked the progress of story even thru manav track...
because there was enuf logic in that...

wen mohan came back to junah mohalla after megha stopped him from leaving...it was more out of gratitude than love...only the prev night megha had insulted mohan and accused him of cheating on her...let me be honest...if mohan wud hv been a female character...then too megha wud hv stopped her because she cudnt let mohan go after wat he did for amar...
so wen the next day mohan forced her to admit that she loves him...she got frustrated and slapped him...

but i think the slap was not only because she was frustrated...but because by that time she realised that if mohan wud hv truly left the mohalla then her life wudnt be the same...it was more like megha realised she had developed strong feelings for him (if not exactly love)...and so she slapped him as he was making her introspect her feelings and like he said she was scared of being unfaithful to amar's memory...

then the next day indu requested megha to stay out of mohan's life and that changed everything...megha became adamant to refuse every advances of mohan...initially she believed that she was doing it on her own accord...but after the gunshot incident she realised indu was the only reason y she was keeping herself away from mohan...and soon after we cud see megha saying ILU although not at mohan's face...

i guess wat bothered us most about manav track was that even after megha confessed she agreed to marry manav...i guess the long wait of viewers to see megha confessing was lost in manav track...
but i truly think the CVs maintained the uniqueness of the show...not the cliche way where hero heroine both realise they r in love and so romance blooms...
here megha was still thinking about indu and mohan's relation...

for megha it was very important that mother-son relation remained intact even if she had to lead a loveless life forever...for this reason and also to convince mohan that she does not love him, she agreed to marry manav...she had no other option because mohan in no other way was ready to believe that she did not love him...
and y blame mohan...the way megha ran to the spot where mohan was shot only goes to prove her love...this is the same megha who was thinking of her children wen mohan raised false fire alarm and megha was worried of dying...this same megha ran to criminal area widout thinking that her life too cud be at stake not even thinking of her children...

because megha had gone overboard in displaying her hidden feelings for mohan...she had no other choice but to marry manav (or anyone else) to convince mohan otherwise...

so, this is the reason y i did not dislike manav track...the track was gud and logical but execution was pathetic...mohan gving mangalsutra, mohan being insulted by addu, megha dragging him thru the mohalla, making him stand while declaring she will marry manav...all these were disgusting things to show...all these totally assassinated megha's character and made her look more like a vamp who was getting intense pleasure from mohan's suffering...
i dont blame megha here...i blame the writer-director who shud be penalized for spoiling our beloved show...

Very true towards Megha feelings..it was not her fault..She tried to keep mother-son relation intact ..

The execution was really pathetic at that time..we could understand why she was doing but it did not came out well..it always appeared that Megha is a heart breaker..she is deriving pleasure in hurting Mohan..she had some short smiles also..the way Addu insulted, cribbed..being a family of high morals, and a great mother, nether Megha nor Vyas family ever scolded or made Addu understand that he shd not behave or talk like this to a guest or say a person elder to him...they all sat on table without considering a guest being called on dinner..how disgustingly written and directed..low class drama 🤢 They forget the basic etiquettes..all sat without even bothered..ghar ka banda hai to aisa thore hota hai..even after they realized, still sitting on chairs without offering him a seat.. Pathetic writing and direction ..it butchered Megha character a lot for me atleast...and Maanav track looked boring and cheap..😭 chaah ke bhi bhi scenes achhe nahin lag rahe the comparison waale..

i think megha shown deliberately breaking monuvas heart and monuva pestering her all around indore was pathetic it needed to be toned down

Nice writeup Aditi and good emotional pour! And thanks for putting this together thus giving me the opportunity to let out my thoughts as well! 😊

I cudn't enjoy the Manav track and it was height of testing my patience level! Its not 'cos Mohan had been at the receiving end but its 'cos Megha wasn't shown in the right light of executing things for her own reasons!

Megha's checkmate:

1. Amar's letter (which is actually Mohan's) - Megha is called for a decision in the name of satisfying Amar's last wish i.e. to continue to lead her happy life with someone!

2. Megha's remarriage - Though she is not ready to move on with anyone (leave alone Mohan), now she's made to rethink about her decision thus forcing her into this remarriage thoughts!

3. Mohan's love - Megha by now knows how much Mohan loves her and everything that he has done for her

4. Megha's love - Finally she knows that she loves Mohan! She wants him to be happy and wants good things to happen to him!

5. Indu's hatred - Megha could have easily chosen the choice of saying 'Yes' to Mohan, making everyone happy except Indu! Indu wudn't approve of their marriage thus Mohan forced to give up his family for her sake!

6. Mohan's wellbeing - In the name of love, Mohan is calling himself into a complicated bonds, which may not be going fine with him, in the long run! He will be put into heavy roles n' responsibilities unknowing to himself!

My disappointment:

And whatever action she has to take based on these, should only show her true form but not in the bad light! But the execution in which she had played out everything turned her out into something else ! Why shud she be made to create misunderstanding with Mohan to execute this? Why shud she be shown as the 70s' heroine instead of facing the fact straight forward? Why shud the creatives go for the same old formula instead of trying something innovative!

To deal things which had always been an issue in many love stories, dealt with the same old masala execution! *Sigh*

Examples:

1. The silly reason she gave for rejecting him when he proposed her with the MS! Doesn't she know what kind of heartbreak it is to be rejected! And after Mohan had gone thru pain from Rashmi, isn't Megha the one to know things better! After all she herself been in love and why wud one do things that way??!! 😡

2. The way she dragged Mohan from PL to Vyass' house to declare her decision to marry Manav! Is that anything to show that she loves Mohan and wants good things to happen to him! It looked like she's showing hatred against Mohan and wanted him to be hurt! 😡

Masala Approach:

It can be taken that her intention is to make him hate her! But this is the routine that every screen has seen and it never happens in real life! Nobody wants to see hatred in the eyes of their loved ones and also doesn't want their loved ones to be hurt, even though it means good for them! What good is it going to make to the one other than knowing that he's been loved by the one he loves!

Here things were executed such that Mohan is put into the receiving mode making him gain sympathy! And the doer being Megha, its lot more upsetting and I wudn't want to watch such negativity happening around me! And showing her repenting for actions alone trying to gain sympathy for her character, is lot more irritating! Why gain sympathy for the characters when they were meant to be active and go-getter, doing the actions! They looked helpless and I hate that feel put into these characters!

Why no new approach?

Megha need not have confessed her love to Mohan but at the same time need not have been so behaving this way with him instead cud have handled it differently! When she was tough earlier after Rashmi's engagement, that is understandable 'cos she hadn't started loving him by then! But after knowing that she loves her, how can she be this!

They even cud have taken it very slow instead of Megha-Manav wedding and focused on how MM comes to an understanding of dealing things together and Megha trying to win over Indu! Or something like that! Something really different than the routine of third angle every time!

This track looked more like the creatives focused on the current track and current rating, instead of relating the characters to the past tracks and keep the character intact!

this point was actually the only sensible one i thot...megha was living with her inlaws with her kids...and as much as papaji loves and adores megha...he was always shown as someone who is so attached to amar that he even cud not love his other son properly...if not the letter then papaji wud never hv thot of megha's remarriage because he always felt megha doesnt want anyone else in her life...papaji once said that old age teaches a person many things but he has failed to recognise mohan...i feel papaji has failed in many ways...he cud never read mohan's feelings for megha calling him her farishta...feelings that cud be easily read by jiji...this is because earlier papaji used to hate mohan for maligning amar's name even forgetting that he never trusted mohan as a reporter...later on wen amar issue was solved and papaji embraced mohan...still for papaji mohan was just a gud person no more than that...so i guess the letter did actually gud in the long run...at least vyas family got prepared to marry off megha...now it was up to mohan to convince then how much he loves megha and can take care of her and the kids which he did eventually...

2. Megha's remarriage - Though she is not ready to move on with anyone (leave alone Mohan), now she's made to rethink about her decision thus forcing her into this remarriage thoughts!

well...this is quite normal...wen women or men loses spouse at very early age...it becomes very difficult of them to think about remarriage especially for women who hv kids...but the elders in the family know how much a life partner matters and so they very often force her to think of remarriage...but i dont think anyone forced megha...papaji just said once and left it to her to decide...i am sure if she wud hv refused then except jiji noone wud force her to rethink...jiji wud hv done because she herself had been a young widow and so knows the pain of lonely life...

i totally agree with everything u said...here i want to add something...megha did the same mistake that mohan did wen he married megha by hiding his marriage to riddhima...although wat mohan did was unforgivable but wat i want to say that megha also did the same mistake though she did not break any law...wat i mean is that wen mohan learnt from megha that she all these days avoided mohan and got engaged to someone else because indu wanted so...that time mohan got really angry and demanded y megha did not tell him before...then he cud hv done something...this is wat i as a viewer felt too...y cudnt megha trust mohan...y cudnt she confide in mohan instead of gving him so much pain...eventually wen megha accepted her love and got married to mohan situation remained same and they decided to win indu's heart together...y cudnt megha take this step much before...all these questions r fruitless because in daily soaps such logic cannot be shown...
later on much after marriage megha came to know that mohan is already married to riddhima...that time she asked the same question to mohan that y he did not trust her and confide in her...i wont delve much into it because riddhima track was bakwaas...but wat i want to say that both mohan and megha did many things that were wrong but their intention was always that the other person be happy in life...
megha thot mohan in long run wont be happy if indu severs relation with him...and mohan thot that megha was so much in love with him that he cudnt confess that he is already a married man...dont get me wrong i am not saying any of them did the right thing...i am just saying that both of them took some impulsive decisions that made them regret later on...

exactly...megha attitude did not change from post rashmi days to the days she realised her love for mohan...on the contrary she became even harder in the latter days...i dont think there is much to say here except that the new writer-director duo were pathetic...
but yes one thing i want to say is that this is the reason y me and many others felt that megha journey of love was never clearly shown like mohan...that she loves mohan we cud only know wen she said ILU in the window scene...as if she fell in love overnite and not gradually...to make some amends megha was made to say she was in love from rashmi days...but i dont think that is true...so early back megha considered mohan only as a very gud friend but she did not love him then...that dialogue was pretty silly and i guess was an attempt to prove that megha did not fall in love overnite 😆

The only answer to ur question is :TRP ka Jhool 😲 Iss Jhool Ko Kya Naam Dun...Bechain viewers ko kaise araam milega? 😆 bade bade directors writers have lost to this Jhool... tabhi kaash aisa channel aye jahan sirf story aur audience pe dhyan diya jaye numbers par nai. however on second thoughts don't u think they show all the non sense bcoz ppl watch it too?? i mean...jab khariddaar hai market mein tab cheez mehangi kya aur sasti kya?

YES YES!! well said. 👏 it was something;if not love which was drawing megha towards mohan. some unexpressed, unexplained feeling; a bond which cant be expressed but can just be felt. here was a man who was there for her; always helping her;saving her; guiding her;a man who bought back smile in her life; a man who was her daughter's best buddy!! he was more than just a friend. megha knew this in hearts of hearts but she just could not admit it to herself. even if it was not love it was some attraction some care some feeling for a person who has been so caring loving and supportive about you. megha knew this would end in love so she suppressed her feelings.

@red: only reason being "SOCIETY and HER INLAWS" how can a widow fall in love? how can a widow like some other guy? how? this is so not done; not acceptable...she knew the reaction!! marrying at the will of ur inlaws would be fine but at ur own will with the guy of ur choice will be like committing a crime...😭 all this held her back sadly.

looking at the story from megha's point of view we can truly understand why it was difficult for her to confess her feelings. she was not an unmarried girl in her early 20s. i would say her feelings were coucconed by society's fear and reaction of her inlaws.

should say the execution was not charming, and Megha a strong lady was made to cry often leaning to the door(which i hated)...Manav, a psychiatrist was good but for nothing here...
