Nothing wrong with being a fan girl. But then there's nothing wrong with being someone who nit picks every episode the moment it airs and indulge all their time on analyzing and decoding it! Nothing wrong with pointing out social issues that's being catogorically ignored or treated in a lighthearted manner! Nothing wrong with looking at the show more than just a show!

There's nothing wrong with holding extreme views (then again the extremity of the view also depends on personal perceptions)

Whatever rocks each individual's boat!

Agreed with this as well! In fact sometimes I go on a complete rant and criticise everything about the episode starting from the set used, to direction, to acting, to the entire storyline.

However I guess I am just against judging and labelling people who don't agree with someone's POV :)

Not sure if u r being sarcastic or serious! But count me in. I like ASR. I am just not into Kushi. And i like the way Barun portrays ASR. So in real life i w'd run miles if i meet in ASR but on screen i just love watching this angry young man!

Glad to see the enthusiastic response to this debate 😊 and has been, by and large, a civil and accommodating discussion, which is what's important on a forum like ours...

Not sure if you are planning to have a summing up or sign off post later on, to conclude this? Looking forward to that, if so!

In the meantime, Just wanted to elaborate on a point I had touched upon in my earlier post in this thread here: https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/62966861

Don't you think, that if at all the word 'Fangirl' is used a bit in the pejorative sense on the forum, its because of the posts and comments by the extreme fanatic section who label themselves as 'Fangirls' or 'Phangurls'? This label is usually self claimed, no one else actually has to give them this title!

I've seen frenzied replies from this group, to the most logical, reasonable posts pointing out certain inconsistencies in the serial. Responses usually go something like this:

"This is a jungle forum";

"All u hatrzz go smwhr else, IPKKND rockz"

"We don't need you. The genuine fans of this serial will keep it going

for 5 years more. U guyz stop watching this serial if you dont like it"

"Y so much negativity. U bashers just hate the serial & want to spoil for the real genuine fanzz. U think u knw everythng but actually u knw nuthng"

Sound familiar? By the way, I am not putting in the worst ones...😊

Now tell me, how can you not judge people who condemn others so harshly, for nothing more than the 'crime' of holding a different opinion?

I am all for respecting the middle ground, live and let live etc etc. I can honestly say, I've never gone into a Drool/ Gutter-tastic post (designated as such by the thread creators, not me!!) and put down anyone for any of their comments there. Why should I? Its their view, and they are entitled to it.

But when someone tries to shout out insults and epithets, to somehow prove a point against logic, reasoning and details, Sorry, that doesn't work for me. And I can't help but judge that section of people for their immaturity.

Perhaps your next debate topic, therefore, can be: Should there be a different term coined for the fanatic, aggressive section who label themselves "phangurls", since they give a bad name to the entire "Fangirl" population?

Now that would open a fine can of worms 😊
