In a new twist in 'Jab Love Hua' (Zee), Aanya (Priya Badlani) will fall in love with DJ Rahul Raichand played by model-turned-actor Mohit Malik. Originally from Delhi, Mohit shifted to Mumbai a year and a half ago. He made his foray to television with shows 'Palkhi' and 'Miilee'. "I have been doing TV commercials side by side. I am now glad to be a part of this show. I play a DJ who is chilled out and hip," he reveals. The story in 'Jab…' has Aanya now in Mumbai. Here she will soon meet Mohit and get involved with him. Even though Mohit is aware that TV is ruled by women he says that it is time that tracks focus on male protagonists too. "I know that soaps work only because they are women-centric. But I think the audience is ready for a change. We should have shows revolving around men too," he says. Mohit is unperturbed by the fact that TV needs long and gruelling hours. "The basic rule of this industry is that you have to be prepared to shoot for at least 18 hours everyday. I remember having shot for two days continuously for 'Miilee'. It's part of the job. As long as you are enjoying it, it doesn't really matter," he smiles. |
