||Blurring reality||
"Virat please" manvi whispered, the tone surprised her…it came out wrong, she had meant to sound angry .
They were in her bed.Virat her partner, her chep was kissing her eyelid, then her cheek, proceeding towards her neck…she couldn't remember how they got into this situation in the first place. They were laughing at some stupid joke, she was chasing him around…how did it lead to this?
Not that she dint like it. But she couldn't let him know how much she liked it.
"Virat" she tried again, this time it sounded breathless. Bad idea.
Virat stopped suddenly and looked deep into her eyes, he must have seen invitation in them, cause then he looked down at her lips and leaned in, he came closer and closer. She
closed her eyes and waited, his breath was touching her face. Her heart was beating fast and her breathing became shallow. Then suddenly everything stopped, she opened her eyes. He had disappeared.
Startled she sat up and rubbed her eyes.
Confused she looked around, she was in her bed covered with blanket…then it struck her, it had been a dream. A stupid irrational dream that is.
The worst part was that, this was not the first time she was getting these kind of dreams, ever since they came to Mumbai this was happening to her.
Its not like he was not in her dreams before…he was always there. But he was laughing by her side, running in the mountains or seeing the clouds with her, and earlier he would irritate her with his antics, but now everything had changed, yet nothing had changed. He was still the same chep.
She scanned the room with half opened sleepy eyes, then her eyes fell on a guitar in a corner,well his guitar. Was he there all night?Was he watching her,while she dreamed about him?
"pagal math ban manvi", she hit her head lightly.
But she would definitely ask him how did it land here, or maybe not.
She remembered what happened the last time she asked him "Hum apke hain kaun?"
Its not like what he said was something wrong, she was expecting him to…well, she dint want to admit what she was expecting him to say.
She remembered last night, him and her di tucking her in her bed. She had fallen asleep listening to their conversation, whatever he was saying to her di must have been really funny, cause her di's laughter was still ringing in her ears. Her heart swelled thinking how wonderful virat is. This seems to happen a lot of times nowadays. She doesn't know weather this is good or bad, all she knows is-he is good. He is…
"chep",she whispered.
"Mannu tu ut gayi!",her di was making her way in her room smiling. Manvi was startled for a second, then she gave her di a wide smile.
"Agg kaal main dekh rahi hu, tu bahut koyi koyi si rehti hain",she said making herself comfortable in manvi's bed.
"Mumbai sheher he aisa he di",manvi said with a wide grin, hoping her di wouldn't question her further.
And her di dint, and she knew that it was not because her di dint understand, it was because she knew better not to ask question she wasn't ready to answer.
It was happening again, they were in their bed, he was kissing her neck while she closed her eyes and ran her fingers through his hair, yet again she dint know how they landed in this situation. She remembered vaguely, her getting frightened by the lightning. But she wasn't being able to think straight. It was raining outside heavily. But she could clearly hear her heart beat, she slowly placed her free hand on his heart, yes his heart was beating rapidly too.
"manvi",virat whispered cupping her face and looking at her with outmost love. He looked down at her lips, then his eyes questioned hers silently.
She just nodded and continued looking into his eyes, she could see her world in them.
As he came closer, she closed her eyes. His breath was touching her face, this time he dint disappear, maybe this time it wasn't just a dream.
