Sad to say this but whether it is Gopi or Sandhya, illiterate or educated, the majority of the public seem to subtly approve of the "martyr " woman syndrome ...TRPs attest to that... The woman needs to continue being a selfeless, silent, respectful, loving, caring, sharing, pavitra person regardless of the people around her...Suffer in silence is the "ideal" method

I've come to the point where I dont care what happens to the diya or baati, and I fully endorse the above opinions... but a question:

What would you have Sandhya do then?

Walk out? Then what? Fulfil her IPS dream? Then what? Serve her country? Then what?

At the end of the day, being an IPS officer is just a job...What about her personal life? Shall she die respected but alone in the end without experiencing the love and relationships that make life worthwhile?

So should she marry again? Then what? If a person has close relationships with any human being, it cannot be perfect because neither is Sandhya or any human perfect...Then what? Should we clamor for her to leave from there too?

Again, I think the current track is shown very badly but Sandhya leaving or shouting back is not a solution...I think the best option is to stick it out and overcome evil with good, like she has decided to...But please CVs, can you not kill the story's charm and credibility in the process ?

adding to these qualities, dumb to an extent ..i can't fathom why !! she's a topper & led a different kind of life or say, upbringing..she's supposed to be street smart, she can sense danger from bulls n stop corruption n teach everyone to keep the neighbourhood clean...the same girl chose to keep mum over several issues which cud have saved her reputation & there was a chance that she was treated better than this...why not tell bhabho about mohit's lie abt the laptop? why didn't suraj tell everyone the truth abt meena stealing the necklace? why not tell bhabho that meena is the one using the contraceptives?

i agree with everyone tht they must never glorify domestic violence & not bring in characters like bhabho but then i want an answer to my question.."WHY do they make the villains n vamps strong and the heros n heroines meek n suffering?" 🤢 pathetic programming ...Indian television needs a revamp again.

lastly, since everyone brings out the reference of "Indian" audience watching n liking these shows, Indian tv serials or movies or ads are not a reflection of our society but a perception of a group of individuals who want to sell their product !! they don't care whether it's reality or not, or the consequences...i'll not deny that ppl. like bhabho, sooraj, sandhya do not exist..u will find them in every second household ..may be tv serials in west show different concepts n stories bec. they hardly live in joint families or as a family ! i'm not saying it's wrong, the culture is different everywhere in diff. parts of the world.

i agree with all of the above viewpoints... but sadly, the basic ideology of the show is flawed... sandhya is so strict/stern when it comes to people and issues outside the house... but inside the house she thinks all of it is normal... bhabho torturing her is fine because it is 'mother's love' and it is 'badon ka sanskaar'... nonsense!!!

when she herself does not consider what is going on in the house to be utterly wrong... then how would she be able to put any stop to it at all?

at least in SNS, Gopi was brought up in an abusive background and she is an illiterate... so for her, her inlaws was actually a welcome relief (except for ahem) but here.. sandhya was brought up in such a loving atmosphere with such forward-thinking parents.. how her views have become so skewed, i fail to understand... she does not seem like IPS MATERIAL AT ALLL... she just seems happy to take in tonnes and tonnes of insult and torture and the only things that seem to worry her are cleanliness of Hanuman gali, stamping out corruption where possible and hating/fearing/loathing any form of physical proximity to suraj...

funnily enough; the characters of vikram, meena, mohit and chavvi are much more consistent and much easier to understand than those of bhabho, suraj or sandhya!!!!!!!!!!!!

completely agree 👏 she's not IPS material at all...how will she handle domestic violence issues if any comes her way? if a girl complains tht her in laws r harassing her, what will sandhya suggest? go on , keep quiet, woh MA hai, bura na maano , sab theek ho jayega 😕 along with sooraj, sandhya needs an awakening real soon ...society of sudharna hai toh ghar se shuru karo 🥱

secondly , why did she decide to stay back in rathi household? the reason she gave preeti was that she's taking it as a challenge..what kind of challenge? to tolerate abuses frm all directions?🤢 she doesn't love sooraj n doesn't want him to touch her..then what's the point of continuing this marriage ? okay, physical relation is not the only requirement, she never connected with him at any level be it emotional or anything else ! she's in that house bec. of her relationship with sooraj, rest everyone comes second...if we look at ONLY sooraj n sandhya's relation then sooraj , except for this short phase, has done more for sandhya than anyone else...well we can argue that he supported her but quietly ..fine he did it, but sandhya didn't even do that ! the question which sooraj asked bhabho, we also want an answer to it..WHY doesn't sandhya walk out, what's left for her in Rathi house , except tht she loves to hear the taunts now ?😕 she seems to be more comfortable with chotu and chaturi than sooraj 😆 we can see a twinkle in her eye when she sees chotu studying but with sooraj therez always a blank expression n a scared luk tht he may touch her

This is so apt and relevant ... brilliantly worded !!

This is repeated mental torture + emotional torture on a girl who is almost an orphan. *tsk tsk*

The taunts are a result of some sort of revenge ... I am sorry to say but revenge on personal level leaves one feeling hollow, drained and empty.

And the most disturbing part of all this taunts are ... NO MATTER WHERE THEY START THEY ALWAYS END AT HER BEING EDUCATED !!!!!

To CVs: when serials conceive and portray real issues, it becomes very important for you to wake up and take note of the fact that there is sometimes a very thin line between reflection of society and promoting something that is terribly wrong !! it could very well fall in the latter !!
