Arnav thinks he can
Khushi thinks that unless willed by a power above one can't do anything. If one's writes his/her destiny it is because the supreme power is holding his/her hand and making him/her to do so.
I was among the people who wondered about Khushi's lack of guilt for loving a man who was her friend-cum pupil's beau. Yesterday's episode gave me the answer indirectly. Despite Khushi's wish to stay away from Arnav, she was constantly thrown in his company. At one point she even chided her patron goddess for giving her so many signs which indicated that he was the one for her when she was well aware that it wasn't her wish. So I guess she had given up battling her own emotions and her patron goddess on that fateful Diwali night and had let fate take its own course. This is the reason she kept standing there at the pool unable to ask him why he had kept her payal for so long. Her silence was an invitation to him to approach her. Although she tried to back off, she did not do so swiftly enough, as she continued to be under his spell. She remained pliant as he attempted to kiss her and may have well accepted the kiss if his cell phone ring did not interrupt them. She knew then that she was irrevocably in love with him but wanted him to spell it out for her, the reason why she had ignored all interruptions in order to seek him out and get an answer then and there. Maybe she felt it was her Devi maiyya's will that she should be with Arnav and it is futile to fight it. If anything she thought she needs to fight for it, by getting an admission from Arnav as well. Unfortunately it had the opposite effect. Finding himself cornered in this way, Arnav ended up trying to prove that he is indeed the master of his own destiny by announcing that he will marry La.
The last time Arnav openly challenged the strength of Khushi's god, he released the fashion show footage to the media which led to Khushi's arrival in Delhi and in his company. Since then they've been unable to shrug each other off. If anything they have only gotten closer both physically and emotionally. So while he thought he was writing his own destiny, Devi maiyya must have had the last laugh for she made him write his destiny as she wanted it to be.
He has again challenged Khushi's god. He reiterates that he writes his own destiny and to prove it he swears that he will never see nor speak to her again and says that these two are very much in his hands. I guess we will soon see him eat his own words not only will he see her and speak to her, but may well end up getting her in to his life by hook or crook.
I am reminded of two of Woody Allen's quotes:
Khushi's unspoken thoughts to Arnav - If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.
Arnav's thoughts unspoken thoughts to Khushi - To you I'm an atheist; to God I'm the loyal opposition.
Yes, Khushi's Devi maiyya will be highly amused by Arnav's antics as he keeps opposing her will. For we know that man proposes and God disposes.
I'll conclude this post with another of Woody Allen's quote which is appropriate for Arshi. Hope your head does not spin by the time you finish reading it.
To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering, one must not love. But then, one suffers from not loving. Therefore, to love is to suffer; not to love is to suffer; to suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy, then is to suffer, but suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be happy, one must love or love to suffer or suffer from too much happiness.
