Past week had been amazing. Something had changed. Probably it had to do with the different side that she had seen to Abhimanyu. He was funny, smart, witty, playful, caring, everything but Sadu. He had even taken her to Panchgani and was staying for today's Armaan and Ridhima's Roka. It meant fighting with him but it was so much more fun that way. She enjoyed this time spent with him. She even started liking this Modi. He was easy to talk to, spend time with. He was same Modi she had seen on Holi, one who had gotten her drunk for revenge and then had also cared to drop her home safe. She had seen lot of him in past few days to know that he did look worried at times. And his mood swings, uuf. He would suddenly start acting arrogant, pricy and then turn into most caring human. She thought probably his by birth haughtiness was too hard to die out in just few days. She smiled at that thought.
As she walked out of her room to find Armaan, she remembered her fight with Muskaan in the morning about who was going to take shower after Modi. Smile grew wider on her face automatically at just mere recollection of the incident. Who would believe that it was same Modi who was all set to fire Dr. Kirti and some miserable patients out of Sanjivani? Who would have thought that he can laugh and enjoy too. There was definitely some change in him or was it that she seeing something that she completely missed earlier. She remembered the way he had told her that he had got her to Panchgani just because she wanted to come here. The look on his face, the way she had felt it at that instance, the yearning that she had felt when he had told that he was going to go without her back to Mumbai, everything was unfamiliar and something even after so much of thought beyond her understanding.
As she reached Armaan's room, she heard loud voice coming out of the room that surely wasn't Armaan's. What is going on here? She pushed the door open gently without making noise to see back of what looked like Abhimanyu Modi shouting over phone for not even able to manage things without him even for just a single week. Hearing him shouting was enough for her to push away all those positive thoughts she had been having about him. Right now all she saw was a serious, workaholic man who couldn't keep himself away from work even in this festive, jovial environment. Even though she had tiptoed and been careful not to disturb him, her hand had brushed against the table and that was enough for him to turn around while disconnecting the call. For a moment she thought she saw panic in his eyes.
As he turned around and saw Niki, he got worried. What is she doing here? Did she hear anything? His mind was racing to all different sorts of thoughts but he immediately composed himself.
What are you doing here?
The look in his eyes made her believe that he was irritated of her presence. What the hell, he was giving her attitude again.
Don't think I am here to meet you. I came here to see Armaan.
Oh yeah Armaan.
It seemed like a long pause that she thought she should clarify that she came here to congratulate him but before she could he continued.
He does need his friends support today.
He recollected the way Armaan had sent Atul in search of Ridhima to talk about the lies he had been keeping away about his parents.
What? What do you mean?
Nothing. He is getting ready. And well don't you need to get ready too. Are you going to come in the party like this?
What do you mean like this? I look pretty even in these cloths.
Armaan's subject completely forgotten when she felt he taunted her on her looks. She didn't like it at all. How dare he say that she wasn't looking good enough? Seeing him making faces, she felt a pang in her heart. Deciding to dress up so beautifully that he should miss his breath, she turned around without saying anything. Just when she was stepping out of the door she remembered why she was here.
Tell him I came to meet. I will directly see him in ceremony now.
Before he could reply back, she was gone. He sighed. Thankfully she had not heard anything. He quickly dialed the number back.

As he walked with Niki's pendant in his pocket, he wondered what he was doing. He was staying extra days in Panchgani just because she asked him to. And that wasn't it. He had played kabaddi with her and her gang of crazy friends. While playing he had lost because he lost himself looking at her eyes, her hair, and her innocent face. He had even acted like B grade Hindi movie when she had challenged him. And today he had pushed himself over the edge when he had seen her shouting for Anjali to tie her blouse. And like a sentimental fool he had done it for her, looked in her eyes and forgotten everything, literally everything. Otherwise how can one justify this behavior after all that he had gone through? And now, now he was keeping her pendant in his pocket. His head told him to give it back or throw it away but his hands didn't oblige at all. Instead his eyes took over everything and searched for her, took in her beaming face making him happy from within. At that instant he had again forgotten the world that his head was trying to remind him of really bad.
