This is the first time i am writing a fanfic on characters of a series. This story is very close to the original story. But i am trying to make the characters into people who don't think they can take audience for a ride.

Gopi in this is very close to original Gopi, but a little more talented, who if need be can go into the outside world and live her own little life. This is about her compassion and how her compassion wins her the world..
Chapter 1
Well everyone thinks slavery has been abolished, but who knew it was still very much there in form of ignorant, but intelligent, people. What is the use of intelligence when you are ignorant about it.
Its morning and we see a girl washing clothes. There is a smile on her face. A very sweet but sad smile. The sadness mirroring in her eyes, eyes so deep and clear. So deep that one would want to know the secrets buried deep in the depth of those eyes... A smile that can motivate anyone to go rescue her from whatever plight she is in, but for her own family. The only people she is left with in the whole world, her helpless mama, authoritative mami and influenced-by-mom cousin Rashi and never-present-at-home Cousin Dhawal. This is the family with whom the girl lived - a sweet natured, compassionate and forgiving, Gopi. A family where there is no balance of power. People with a big mouth can get the power, inspite of being dependent.
Mami because of her greediness never let Gopi study and never let her go anywhere else too. Why would she? She got a free servent for life. All she had to do is give her 2-times food and Rashi's used clothes. That was all that was required to keep her at their place for lifetime. But little did she know what God planned for that sweet girl.
Inspite of her mami, her mama taught her basic maths, so she is not duped by a person who knows her vulnerability. But he couldn't help her much as mami was always hovering over them like a fire-breathing dragon, whenever mama sat to teach Gopi something. So mama taught her maths whenever he had time and dragon was not around.
On that morning.
Mami (Shouting) - what are you trying to do? Is this the only chore left that you are taking your own sweet time? Princess, move your hands fast. They won't wear out if you move them a bit fast.
Gopi - Ji Mami, its almost done. Once I put them to dry, I'll go cook lunch.
Mami - Do everything fast. We are expecting a boy's family to be here pretty soon to see Rashi. You have to prepare lunch as well as get Rashi ready.
Gopi - Ji Mami.
Thus began her daily list of chores, to which some extra was added because of preparation for the guests. But Gopi, being Gopi, she hardly notices the nuances of what her mami was telling her to do. She goes about her work like a bullet shot out of a gun and has most of her work done 2 hours before the scheduled arrival of the Boy's family.
Rashi was already sent to beauty parlour to get her makeup done. They just had to wait for Rashi to come back and get her in a saree.
All the people at home were tensed. Rashi was still not home and there was only an hour left. Gopi is sent to the parlour where Rashi was gone, so that Gopi can bring her back by reminding her the time.
By the time Gopi went to the parlour she was informed that Rashi has already left. She hurried back home to get rashi ready. When she arrived home, rashi was causing a ruckus. She started shouting at Gopi as soon as she saw Gopi
Rashi - Gopi, where were you? You were supposed to get me ready, but you are coming now, when there are just 30 mins left for their arrival. You are so jealous of me Gopi... after all that we did for you, you are trying to humiliate us.
Gopi - No Rashi ben'. I went to look for you only.
Rashi - Okk don't give any excuses, come help me drape the saree.
Gopi is trying her best to get Rashi ready. But Rashi being Rashi, she doesn't have a still bone in her body and moving like a jumping jack.
Mami (frantic)- Boy's Family are about to arrive. Ohh God' Gopi, get Rashi ready.. Do it fast. Why are you so slow today? Are u planning to humiliate us? Also, listen, I'll welcome them and, don't you dare show up in front of them except to serve food.
It is almost time and the calling bell goes' "Hey Gopal Krishna karoon aarti teri"
Doorbell sound distracts their hurried efforts of draping a saree on Rashi and the saree gets undone. God they have to start working on it again. Now even Rashi is nervous and stands as still as a rock, which makes it easy for Gopi to get her into the saree.
Urmi is getting the door and Jitu bhai accompanies her
Urmi and Jitu Bhai greet the Boy's family and welcome them inside
Urmi - Please come in and take a seat. Rashi will be here in a minute.
Gopi comes in with snacks and tea. Boy's family is impressed at Gopi, as they think her to be a maid. Well handled by Urmi. They don't know who she is. Her clothes are worn out but still look elegant for handouts from someone. Her Mami didn't know that Gopi likes to embroider and has patched the torn things bestowed on her to beautiful clothes.
The Boy's family is the most wealthy and respected in town, the Modi Family. Hetal, the soft-spoken elder Daughter-in-law (DIL), the heart of Modi Family. Kokila, The straight-laced younger DIL, who controls the Modi family's household Keys since her child is the eldest. She is the Brain within Modi household.you won't be surprised if nothing misses her eye. Chirag, all-work-no-play elder son of Modi Family, husband to Hetal. He is the brain of Modi Enterprises being the CEO of the company. Parag, the dreamer of the family, the well-loved younger son and husband to Kokila Modi.
Ahem Modi, the Boy, and the hardworking GM of Modi Enterprises, is son to Kokila and Parag. They have a daughter too by the name Kinjal. Hetal and Chirag had only one child, Jigar, who helps his brother Ahem in business and currently out of town.
The Heart and Soul of this illustrious family is Baa, the head of the family and mother of Chirag and Parag. A very religious and pious lady, she loves her whole family without any discrimination to various talents of her children, DILs and grand-children.
Only the elders were here except for Baa, since Baa was not feeling too well. Inspite of being very wealthy, with a train of attendants at home who are well taken care of, they are impressed that girl's family is even taking care of the servant girl. (Little did they know?)
