GHT IF blog
Hey guys!
It's been 8 years since Kutumb happened, very aptly as most of you'll have mentioned it to be the '8th year anniversary' for Kutumb! So guys, today's blog entry is dedicated to nothing else but - Kutumb! Like all of you have ambitions and big dreams, I too had and still have many! I always wanted to make myself known by one and all; to leave behind an ever-lasting, evergreen impression and be remembered for my good work and performances. I too had that hunger for fame and a good name like everyone does. Yes, I had done some good work prior to 'Kutumb' which also gave me some recognition but the turning point was only through and after playing Pratham Mittal's character. People appreciated my ability and helped me realize my potential.
Gauri and I are very grateful to Ekta and God, for giving us this golden opportunity to be part of such a successful drama show. It worked so well! The fun and bond we had when doing scenes showed when aired and I think that's what made the audience relate to our 'Kutumb' family. I, personally, feel extremely fortunate to have been its part. Also since I met Gauri there and our 'Kutumb' too began with it. As you all know that I had met Gauri and we worked together for the first time through the 'Breeze' ad. But 'Kutumb' helped break the ice! I think the show happened for the two of us, mainly since the connection showed through the advertisement. I was already associated with Balaji while Gauri was not. When we met on the shows set for the first time, we were both happy to be working together since a decent comfort level had already been established through 'Breeze'. Although Gauri hardly ever spoke! She was very serious and kept to herself! While I was a prankster, always up to some mischief or the other! The whole team knew how I was and would often be in splits with the nonsense I would do! I had a ball entertaining them and very soon they understood that this boy who looks so 'innocent' isn't really so!
Once, I purposely wanted to annoy Gauri and did exactly what she did not want! My shoes that I had to wear for 'Kutumb', had a metal kind of sole to it. It would cause a screechy sound whenever I would walk around. And the noise would irritate Gauri a lot! So even when not needed, I would sneakily tip toe, and then suddenly walk normally when she was around! She would literally go, "Arghhhhhh Hitennn!"
Soon the creative team came up with 'Kutumb 2'! That was the good news but the bad news was that only 'Pratham' and 'Gauri' would remain a part as before, with the rest of the cast entirely changing. So it was good but sad, because the bond and rapport that we had established with each other could no longer be continued. The 'Kutumb' family was no more together and it was really very disappointing for all of us. We were not only a closely-knit household on screen, but off screen as well!
In fact, one unknown fact to all is that the script writers would actually be scared to write the 'dining' scenes! During rehearsals, when the scene required the family to sit and dine on the table with food laid out, the characters doing the major part of the scene would be engrossed enacting it, while the rest of us would end up actually finishing all the food! That is how carried away we would get, in chit-chatting and talking away! And when the director would be ready for the final shot, a spot boy would say, "Saab, khana to khatam ho gaya!". The director would get sooo mad at us and give us loud, clear instructions that we DO NOT have to munch down everything and that we should PRETEND to be feasting. Not really! Then again the food would be called, half an hour later and then we would try keeping control on our tongue and appetite. There was a lot of proximity and closeness amongst all of us.
When we were told that 'Kutumb' is to end soon and that only a few more episodes are left; we were all really upset! For me personally, I was satisfied with the entire popularity, fan base and more important - the love I had earned from you guys, but I wanted more. It's human to never feel satisfactory or think that what you have is enough... Our entire shows cast requested to not put a full stop to the show. We made a few suggestions to somehow keep it going. We tried however we could to not let it end, as it was very close to all our hearts! But then certain things are just not meant to be and everything good comes to an end. So it was final and 'Kutumb' was to stop. The production team too was upset with themselves...
I miss the 'Kutumb' days and hope to take away more such memories from my other shows. Also, form greater equations with all my colleagues and build another happy family, in real life and reel.
Love,
Hiten
Hey guys!
Only if I could come out of the screen and show you how happy, excited, overjoyed, over the top, thrilled and much much more am I feeling!!
Sadly that's not really possible and I'll have to do with conveying everything here through words.
I'll have to try hard though, because even words won't do justice to how high and up in the sky 'the' day has made me shoot!
Yes guys... November 11th 2009 was the much awaited day for Gauri and me! Gauri gave birth to Nevaan and Katya at the Lilavati Hospital! We are now the proud parents of twins - a baby boy, and baby girl!
It just couldn't get better than this! Nevaan, Katya, Gauri and me - it just completes the family!
As if Gauri's pregnancy was not a great journey by itself, this just added to our parents-in-the-making experience! The pregnancy made us grow as individuals as well as a couple too. Post delivery when we held our little devil and angel in our hands, words can't express what a beautiful feeling it was!
God has been extremely kind in ensuring us a smooth journey from being lovers, to a happily married couple and now parents!
Gauri and I are looking forward to this brand new chapter in our lives and hope to make ideal parents.
Please do give us your blessings and we will be back soon to narrate out how this new chapter is treating us
Love,
Hiten Gauri
