Thoughts on today's episode - 2/24/2010

yaah agree to you,,today episode was utter rubbush except devki and birju's conversation,,
I loved the way birju explained the whole thing to devki indirectly,,hope devki understands this and tries to make rad understand these things,,,,but by the time it will be very late....also i think birju should also tell these things to shastriji and most importantly to dev,,,dev knows these but needs to apply his presence of mind,,,,,I am happy to see a lot of growth in birju's character and hope that he remains either laksman or hanuman in radev's life....atleast there is athird person in Pb besides dev and dadi who understands radhika well bcoz i am pretty sure after the birju mrin issue that dadi is helpless at times and coming to dev...he gets angry very easily and also he forgets to look into details of anything.....which creates difficulties later....

It was a boring episode. I guess these must be filler episodes to make up for the time when Dev and Radhika were travelling to Malaysia before starting a new shoot.

But, today's episode had a brilliant conversation between Birju and Devki. Birju picked up the right person and gave her an excellent analogy of Radhika and Vishaka and asked her to counsel Radhika. He is so right and Radhika needs to understand it. Hopefully, Dadi Dev and Shastriji can get through her this time.

It seems that Radhika's truth will be out in front of the family probably by the end of this week. It would be better if Dev and Radhika have a proper confrontation in Goa and Dev knows the entire truth before meeting the family. That way, he can defend Radhika. Also, this way Shastriji and Devki become aware of Vishaka problem and now can properly advise Radhika.

Why3, great post. Regarding Shastriji and Devaki: so far they have never been hands-on parents. Their solution to any problem with Vishaka has been to ignore her, disown her, throw her out of the house, or declare her dead. If they had dealt with her properly from day 1 then they wouldn't be having so many problems with her today. Another problem is that Devaki the pendulum swings to and fro as far as Vishaka is concerned. She is just as guilty as Amma is of using Radhika to take the fall for Vishaka and spoil her even more. Amma I can understand, but how stupid can Devaki be? On one hand she's advising Radhika to concentrate on her married life and on the other hand, the moment some crisis comes up involving Vishaka, Devaki expects Radhika to handle it by herself. Devaki is setting such a horrible example for Radhika. I wonder if Birju did indeed speak to the right person about the Vishaka problem. I really don't expect much from Devaki at all. I think truly only Dev can get through to Radhika and in order to do that she has to lose him first. He has to get so angry with her and walk away from her that she gets a jolt and realizes what is really going on here and how Vishaka is creating a wall between her and Dev. Dev has to walk away from Rads and at the same time Vish has to do something incredulous to Rads in order for her to get a clue.

today i missed Radev so much....seeing all the party jashn was hoping kash Radev bhi hothe.......

yeah the Birju-devki conversation was wonderful, and the small story he told was so perfect.
i hope devki plays a big part in making Rads understand her real responsibilities.....not Vish but her sasuraal and her pati...

😆 i think today chacha was very funny.......couldnt stop laughing when they showed him in the old getup and he was still chewing his pan...

and i remembered our Anthakshari thread...seeing all the old songs today.
it was nice episode but Radev ke bina thoda aadhura laga...

Birju's story about a swan and a crab is so appropriate for these soaps. Usually, the soaps make a person so great that they do dumb sacrifices in order to be called "Mahan". It was refreshing to see that Birju - a non family member realized Radhika's weakness which even Dev couldn't and went to her mother with his thoughts. It seems that Devki understood it, but the question is will she do something about it? She is a coward and changes as the wind changes. So far, she has dumped her Vishaka problem. Will she help Radhika if she realizes that Radhika is dealing with it by herself and jeopardizing her marriage? The interesting thing is that even if Birju doesn't confess, Mrinalini has overheard enough to make a conclusion that probably Radhika was helping Vishaka.

u know when Devki sees vish na...(that she is still hanging around Rad)...then i want Devki to give a tight slap( a very big slap) to Vish that she would remember her lifelong and say......"Ek tho apni zindagi barbath karli abhi dosron ki zindagi barbath karne par tulli hai....." this would be my dream scene in CB right now.

I think these episodes were actually shot after ZRA, so that Radhika gets time to be by her family....

I was initially not going to watch bcos radev were not there ... but went ahead and watched anyway. I actually liked it ... it was light, fun and I liked that they were focusing on developing the side characters and building a real story line ... what i liked was

- vaish/dadi relationship ... they both have a natural affection and fondness for each other ...without the need for superfluous dialogues that they care for one another
- Mrin getting jealous of arjun's attention to deepika ... she is her own worst enemy and is going to fall in a big way
- Devki looked very pretty ... loved Birju's convo with her ... wish he had that convo with Shastriji though
- Chacho signaling to Arjun to leave Mrin alone

Now I hope they do bring the raDev misunderstanding, etc to a logical conclusion without dumbing their characters down a whole lot ... I understand they would like to stretch it ... but am hoping they keep it reasonable

Angie nice post.....looks like both of us thought of the same thing to write.

But my take is a bit different to yours.....I can only write what I see and feel.......so based on that I found it interesting in the sense that they are showing the interaction of the secondary characters, they are also showing who may be the manipulators in the upcoming charade and who might be manipulated...........they are also showing who is going to stand upright and hopefully not bend........thats why I found it interesting.

I am hoping that the creatives will keep Radhika and Dev strong, together and growing and let these characters create situations that our leads will face and tackle together....after all that is how a relationship grows.
