Heyy everyone...!! đ
This is an idea I had been toying around with for quite a while now, especially since a couple of friends of mine suggested it just the other day with such sincerity, that it really struck a chord...so here I am...with my first ever Mini-Fanfic on Armaan and Riddhima...it's really not much, because I've been a visitor on this section quite a few times, and most of the Fanfics here are absolutely outstanding...I won't claim a spot at that level yet...just a modest attempt at something i haven't done before, with a bit of my heart and soul in it...hope you like it...đ
Before i begin, this goes out to Sumedha, Sanju, Chahat and Ravs, for being so warm, so sweet, and actually considering me worthy of this attempt by giving me this idea in my previous posts on the DMG forum...and to Doc, Hannah and Anisha, you guys have no idea how much your support has to do with the fact that i decided to do this, this weekend, and be assured that i can have someone to give me honest opinion and to bank on even if i fall...not something i'll be able to explain, so let it suffice to say that i LOVE you guys...!! đ€
Okay, because i'm so in love with the current AR track, i'll begin where it stands at this moment on the show, with Armaan and Riddhima's engagement having been fixed, and the two of them embarking on a journey together, of discovering each other, and discovering their love, all over again...đł
AR : Love Rekindled...
We begin just after Armaan and Riddhima have that almost-moment in the locker room...he wants to hear her say the three magical words, and she's still too awkward to say them...it was like they'd begun again, from where they started...only, their journey together started from a point couples reach after a certain level of maturity...call it destiny, but this was the way they were meant to be, and they both knew it...which is why this felt so right...and that's all that really mattered...
Armaan was making his way down the corridor, barely noticing the world around him, with people and things passing him by in a blur...his surroundings seemed to have lost their form and meaning somehow...this had been happening for a while, ever since he discovered that he's missing two years from his life...but that was a blur that thrust him into a darkness he couldn't find a way out of...this was a blur that brought him to light...and to that one thing, that made everything else matter very little...he could see her, standing at the Nurse's station, and he imagined that she had this soft glow about her face...a glow that seemed to extinguish every other source of light in the corridor, as though they were hardly relevant to life itself...who needed them when that one face could light up the whole world?
And that was the beauty of it...eventhough Armaan remembered nothing of what he had shared with Riddhima in the two years past, deep inside him, he could feel it...even when he had not known about his memory loss, and had felt such utter annoyance with regard to Teacher, something had always drawn him irresistably towards her...it's another matter that at the time he had felt as though he was losing his mind...he knew now that it was his heart that he had lost to her, and he just needed a good shake to wake up to it...now that he had, he couldn't imagine a life, or a world, more beautiful...
He reached the Nurse's Station, and felt her stiffen, aware of his presence beside her...it had been something of a shake-up for Riddhima too...she loved Armaan, more than anything in the world...and it was this Armaan she had always loved, she knew it...but it was as though she was discovering him all over again...and it was scary and exciting, anxious and thrilling, all at once...which is why, when she felt him steal up behind her, she had almost involuntarily stiffened, in the process losing track of what she had been doing, and misspelling her own name...but as she realised what she had done, she couldn't help smiling at what she'd ended up writing...'Name : Dr.Riddhima Mallik'...at that precise moment, she realised that he was standing right beside her, and stowed away that piece of paper in her file so that it escaped his notice...they both knew they loved each other, but she wasn't going to let him in on her heart so soon, and so easy...and so, without daring to look up lest she should betray a smile she could barely restrain, she began walking away as though she hadn't noticed he was there at all...Armaan, on his part, knew she had seen him, but he knew the ropes too, and so he followed her, and brushed past her like he hadn't seen her either, walking on at an easy pace towards the end of the corridor that led to the locker room...a little confused, Riddhima decided to follow him, when a nurse tapped on her shoulder and asked her about a certain patient's chart that had to be updated...once she was done with that bit of supervising, she looked up to find the corridor empty, and Armaan nowhere in sight...dismayed, she made her way wearily down it, hoping that she'd at least see him in the locker room with the others, even if she couldn't have him all to herself...
She was on her way when, all of a sudden, a door opened on her left, and in a whirl of movement, she found herself in a very familiar place, with a very familiar feeling, looking into a very familiar pair of twinkling blue eyes...Armaan was standing right before her, and they were in the Fire Escape...and she could feel a million emotions surging up inside her heart even before he could speak...it was such a stroke of destiny that he had chosen this one place to share a lone moment with her, a place that carried so much of their love within it already...she couldn't hold back a tear, and let it escape her eye for that one moment as they stood facing each other, lost in each other's eyes...Armaan noticed, and for one frightening second thought everything had gone horribly wrong..."Riddhima...are you okay? I'm sorry, kahin tumhe bura to nahin laga ki maine is tarah...i didn't mean to...i mean...sh*t...oh, sorry...i mean...main...woh..." ...and realising what had happened, Riddhima made as if to glower at him, saying in highly affronted tones "What were you thinking when you decided to do this? haan? main jaanti hoon hamari sagaai ho rahi hai, lekin abhi bhi tum mujhe theek se jaante tak nahin...to phir yeh sab...don't you think you're rushing into things too fast?"...and watching his worst fears coming true right before his eyes, Armaan could think of nothing else to do, but to hang his head in shame...and seeing him standing there, with downcast eyes, at a loss for excuses or words of apology, she dropped the act, and couldn't resist lifting her hands to his face, and pinching his cheeks softly, like those of a little boy...Armaan, after the initial surprise, not to mention a huge surge of relief that the world was not ending today, smiled, and looked deep into her eyes...the tears were still there, but now he knew there was more to them than he had imagined...
Riddhima seemed to read his mind, and said, "Tumhein pata hai tum mujhe kahaan laaye ho?" he looked around, and found that they were at the head of a flight of stairs...an emergency fire exit, by the looks of it...and as odd as it seemed, it didn't seem out of place to him at all, even for an encounter so intimate...this place seemed strangely at home for this kind of thing, eventhough he couldn't for the life of him figure out why exactly it made him feel that way...there had been an equally isolated store room just on the other side of the corridor too...he knew it was there, he had even gone into it this morning to fetch a carton for medicines...and he had not known about the fire escape at all...so why had he almost instinctively chosen this door, which he knew not led where, while he could have easily chosen the more familiar door on the other side? and so, just when he felt the questions getting the better of him, he looked to the one source of all the answers he needed...she was watching him silently, and it appeared as though she had exactly followed his train of thought too..."Jaana pehchaana sa lagta hai na? as though we just belong here right now? jaise isse behtar koi jagah ho hi nahin sakti is pal ke liye?"...he nodded his head...placing her hand on his cheek, she went on in a soft, tender voice, "yeh un jagahon mein se ek hai jahaan hamaare pyar ki shuruaat hui thi...this little secluded flight of stairs beats with the soul of our love...these walls have seen us through so much in all the time we've spent together...resounded with our laughter, our tears, our stolen moments of intimacy, and even our bitter moments of angry confrontation...dhyaan se sunoge na, to shayad ab tak goonj sunayi degi tumhein yahaan, un sab palon ki jo humne yahaan bitae hain..."...and as though struck by a ray of wonder, Armaan looked around, and eventhough he saw nothing he could clearly remember, he most definitely felt a sense of allegiance to this little sanctuary...and it seemed to come together all at once, why he had chosen this door and not the other, and why he felt so right standing here, with Riddhima, right now...this was one of the things that had convinced him that she was the one...everytime he was overcome by questions, she could set him at ease without even having to account for anything in detail...she'd say but a word, and he'd be reassured that everything was right with the world, and just the way it should be...
That is how he felt right now, and felt that this moment was the closest to perfection he had ever come in his life...he lifted his hand, and wiped that tear gently away from her cheek...he realised how close they were to each other, and felt a slight tingling from head to toe, as did she...and they stood soaking in the tides of emotion that broke from both sides...it was as though words were made redundant by what their very heartbeats expressed in that one moment, suspended in time, seeming to last an eternity...and they were there, intimately close to each other, lost in each other's eyes, lost in the glow of their love, as the world outside that little door carried on with its rhythm as always, leaving their hearts beating to a rhythm of their own...
okay...there, done...phew...i know it's long...for people who haven't been privy to any post i've ever made before, this is a warning for the future, if you're still alive by the end of this of course, and in good enough humour to return some time...i have this compulsive issue with being concise...getting carried away is what i do, really, all the time...it's who i am, you could say...hehe...and i have absolutely no excuses to offer any more...lol...it is what it is...tedious and rather annoying at times, i know, but oh well...đ
would appreciate feedback from anyone who took out time to read through all that...and please, feel free to criticise to your heart's content...i've done this for the first time in my life in this section, and am sitting here with a mind to learn...so any suggestions for improvement, or reprimands for too wild and too long-winded an imagination, which includes the length, yes it does...lol...or anything else you'd like to say, just lay your hands on that keyboard and get typing...đ
Take care, everyone, and cheers!
