The way zee kept promoting regionalism really started this whole mess. The Calcatta ki laadli Ujjaini, Huryana Hurricane Himani, Hyderabadi Hema etc. Plus they explained on live TV where the votes were coming from and brewed this unhealthy trend.

Other Reality shows like Indian Idol or Fame Gurukul never took this route and would just announce the total votes and in later rounds who got the top vote.

Who cares what % of votes come from a certain place. But highlighting it they invited trouble. In a country which is already divided with religion, language, caste, urban, rural factions, it just needs a small spark to ignite a backlash. No use complaining now, get a life GS.

Exactly, this is also causing some sensitive feelings among contestants, for example nehera being Mumbai mulgi and maharastraian, maharastra did not show much interest in Nehera while they all voted Himani. Also ID has taken nehera and Debo to mosque and offered prayers there, did jatin or lalit take shareeb to ganesh temple and make him break coconut or give aarathi can this be done in our country, shame

you are right and it should not happen like this and they all are indians first and and then regional and music has no language so this issue should not come and all singers are same.

agreed.I dont understand why they did it.in case of fame gurukul , in qazi's case ,atleast in the initial rounds kashmir may have voted in high%(later ofcourse he gained immense popularity) nobody not even contestants ever spoke of kashmir.wise move.

look at this forum it is so deeply devided and there is so much anger.you are right.the region wise split is one of the main reasons we cant be unbiased viewers.

I am worried about criticising any one lest a hydrabadi or assamese or a haryanvi gets hurt😕

I think that is a good point. Additionally, I think this Mento Meter thing is ridiculous. They should simply ask for the Mentor's comment and not ask them to rate each performance. This will always generate resentment and acrimony amongst the mentors.

it is so unfortunate that a great show like SRGMP ended up the Fame Gurukul way and even went a step further in stupidity! To begin with, Gajendra singh invited DNA newspaper to interview the three winners, who supposedly were Vinit, Himani and Hemachandra and informed the mentors about the same. then how come debojit ended up having the max votes???
And what is this funda of keeping mentors happy and the weird compulsion of having atleast one contestant of each gharana in the final episode? if that was the case, they should have allowed atleast one particpant of jatin-lalit gharana to participate. Why these double standards? whosoever gets the least number of votes has to go- that's the rule or we thought that was the rule till gajendra singh chose diplomacy over talent. He has made a mockery of such a nice show and SRGMP will surely lose its credibility.

Shame on you Gajendra Singh and all the mentors who supported him in this stupidity. And if this is true that Himesh asked Hema to sacrifice himself for Vinit, well then shame on him as well.
