Gods of small screen....
These gods of small screen have even cut through the Bollywood clutter as the preferred professionals for festivals in Navratri and Diwali melas. The logic is simple: You can get a tv star for anything between Rs 50,000 to Rs 1.5 lakh. per appearance, and they are as popular (and probably less problematic) as any big screen idol. Hiten 'Karan' Tejwani and wife Gauri 'Nandini' Pradhan were flown to US and London for 20 days for the festival season.
They are family...
(this is regarding how viewers mob tv stars during outdoor shootings and how much audience take fav star's characters seriously into heart... there was a line for tulsi aunty... i would write it here as after that our duo has been mentioned)
Tulsi (Smriti Irani) can start a parallel career of blessing children today "so many women walk up and ask me to bless their kids." When she was in the hospital giving birth to her baby, "half the hospital was in my room, wishing me and my child a long life."
Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan, the stars of Kutumb on Sony, now have to avoid their favourite resturants as they get mobbed the minute they step in.. (Poor darlings, hehehehe)
Life in a fishbowl.
Not that anybody is complaining. As Hiten puts it: with stardom comes responsibility. And gossips too. Earlier, Tv stars were not in the normal scheme of things for the average viewer, and so did not have to watch every step they make outside of their reel life. "Even if we make a small slip, it will be reported," says Hiten.
For instance, when Hiten and Gauri fell in love in real life, the gossip magazines chased them all the way to Pune where they finally tied the knot. "But what was interesting is that people would come to me and ask me to marry Gauri in real life. They were not willing to see that reel life and real life may differ. However, thankfully for us, it was not so. we were actually in love."
The offscreen romance helped their serials too. Both Kutumb and Kyunkii got good mileage out of their real life romance, just like it did for Bollywood blockbusters starring John Abraham and Bopasha Basu.
There was a pic of Hiten and Gauri... and underneath it was written, The hottest couple on TV, famous for their on-screen and off-screen romance... the caption was "Everyone wanted us to get married in real life too. Thankfully we fell in love".
The pic has already seen by us... its the one in which Hiten is wearing white and green striped t-shirt and gauri wearing zebra type long dress with goggles over her head....
