THANKS - Finally someone has made sense of all the nonsense going on at the SAREGAMAPA CHALLENGE 2005.

Yes Hema's extended family is an added bonus on SRGMP. The continuous
breaking of teh coconuts especially the ones that did not break was funny.

The real problem with this show is that it seems to be all about the
marketing by the mentors. HR may not have bee the best guru (hence only
vinit left before Brahmastra) but he is a master PR guy. If only AS would
promote Hema that way, we would have a fair fight. But let me say that both
Hema nad Debu need to do a better job of self promotion while not
skimping on their singing!

Great Post, musicbuff.I agree with you about everything.Only, I find Nihira's voice sweeter than Himani's.If you listen to Vineet sing with your eyes closed,he sounds like a boy singing, and not a man.I like his singing, but I agree with you that he needs a little seasoning of that voice. If Rajeev gets a little training,I think his voice would suit songs sung in the same genre as Jagjeet Singh.

I am surprised at myself for writing this considering how much Rajeev's non-technical singing rattled my very nerves - but the fact is - he has an astounding voice. The kind of voice that comes out from within his very soul and you can picturise that kind of a deep boom of a voice over the complete Himalayan range (with his voice in the background) and it would make your very soul shatter. Something like Dilip Kumar in "Suhana safar aur ye mausam haseen" When the song goes "Hey.hey ..hey" and they span mountain ranges you feel Rajeev's voice can echo through. Such a powerful voice. But I hated him for his lack of technicality!
