Dear all,
I am really disappointed by many of your remarks about Bidaai. I am a diehard fan of the serial just as I am a diehard fan of RKAB. In fact, I watch only these two serials on T.V. I find both of them really worth viewing but for entirely different reasons.
Both are very very good, if you follow the storyline closely. RKAB has the capability to send you to a dreamy fantasy land where you get your prince charming fighting all odds to get your love and wonder of wonders, he is really a prince. We can vicariously fulfill all our childhood dreams here.
Whereas, Bidaai is grounded more in reality. It might be showing a rather narrow-minded India, what with the fair/dark angst but please believe me what they are showcasing is nothing but the truth --- brutal, harsh, most of all very demeaning but real none the less.
I do admit however that Anjali is a far better actress and looks completely genuine in comparison to either of the leads of Bidaai. But that fails to take away the essential core of Bidaai -- its depiction of the unvarnished truth of our so- called enlightened society.

Dear KatyPink,

We all stated before hand that our opinions are our own, don't become offended because a few people share the same opinion about a certain show. We all refrained from being demeaning, therefore I really don't think you need to feel saddened nor disappointed as you so stated. I know there are people out there who probably say certain things about RKAB, but I find no reason in getting disheartened, because everyone has their own view of "pleasant". You might find aspects which appeal to you in Bidaai, which many of us don't. Its good to know your a fan of both, but a few of us are not. That's just how the world works babe.

So smile.

We're not bashing it to the ground, the umph of the show is just a mystery to us.

Katypink - hi! Sorry, if we have hurt u.
U r right that dark and fair girls are horribly discriminated against in India. But dear i think - and u r perfectly within your rights to disagree - that since that is such a burning issue the bidaai storyline could have concentrated on how dark girls can also make beautiful individuals who can be looked up to and become role models for all girls. Here in this serial it always boils down to falling in love, getting married and being accepted by your in laws. No harm in that - but what is so new about that. Half the indian serials are all about that - y cann't ragini do something out of the box, something special?? i am sure u can argue the same about Rani in Rkab - but that is essentially the core of the story - the prince falls in love with cinderella and his family acceppts her - the storyline here is true to this core concept. But the bidaai serial ... - well i don't know.
Really sorry if we have hurt your feelings - but i am sure that the others would agree that we were just voicing our individual opinions - no bad blood huh...😆

katy pink i am really sorry if we have offended your feeling we hope we are not hopeing that to do so............

here....we are outraged because of the media coverage bidaayi is getting eventhough it is not something that special.........and about this dark and fair skin ....it's my own personal exerience so i know it does exists in india............so no problem in that point ......but when we were comparing we felt RKAB is much more better than bidayi than why bidayi is getting all hyped and always in news for all smallmatter and we all know all this promotions mostly done by chanel and production house ........like in awards and all it was clearly visible the way bidai and ekta's star cast were getting all special treatment compare to RKAB............so we all are upset about it.................as we all believe that if RKAB has been given fair chance it will top trp charts...........but instead they are behaving with this drama like step child........

as use said start cast of RKAB is very natural and has totally different story line compare to other that's why all thsi matter is upsetting us
so even though you feel we have hurt anybody's feeling i appologised for that........

Hey Katypink
My only issue with Bidaii is the amount of coverage it gets from the media, whilst other serials are almost forgotten about. OK, so I don't personally watch it as I cannot connect to it in any way, but some of my closest friends (and lets not forget mother) are proud viewers for all the reasons you mention.
At the end of the day, you have to be able to connect with a show on some level, and many of us don't with Bidaii. It's personal choice - but I think the majority here would agree that it's not the show but the fact that it is so highly promoted that irks us the most.
And all the above is our personal opinion! My apologies for offending you hon, that was never the intent.

Dear Nisha, bsingapury, belissima, and Tashmin,
Thanks for your responses. I now feel as if I am amongst friends.
I really do appreciate all of your concerns regarding the lack of media coverage for RKAB. Indeed it is so very glaringly evident .
We RKAB lovers can do little about it apart from mailing to SBS.

Hey katypink,
I'm so happy U forgave all of RKAB fans out here actually our agony was not on Bidaai it's more on media I mean it frustrates me that Bidaaai has great media coverage and everybody talk very positive about them which looks ambiguous .
RKAB is very popular and we all don;t just watch it we are engrossed in it to the extent nobody can understand and quite a bit rustrated if RKAB is not getiing that kind of media coverage for that I think I'll to blame RKAB directors as thye don;t bother or what? but Anyways....
I really like the way you differentiate fairy tale dream version of RKAB and rality version of BIdaai.
But even Bidaai has all the tactis of Ekta's serial that is bothering...isn't?
