When taking time and going through the series' # Twitter feed, I'm happy when finding posts which show me a certain insight into the series with its 'meta-levels' and 'Easter-eggs' - apart from a praise or criticism with repeated verbalisations.
Already when studying filmmaking in the UCLA (with a master after 4 years), Aryan had created a short movie which had his father as 'model' for a superstar. So, an extension of this idea (including his own negative experience with the legal system) was something I expected when his first directorial venture was announced.
His collaboration with Bilal, a successful author whose first book (Bard of Blood) RedChillies made into a Netflix-series with Emraan as the lead, and with his friend Manav, resulted in a well crafted script with the undisputable highlight of choosing exactly the fitting song from a Bobby-movie with an equally fitting title for the climax-twist.
Another materstroke (imo) was the choice of the leading couple. Both already had excelled in Karan's production Kill as antagonists. Now they excelled as close friends in a heart-warming and funny display of male friendship (which is a big forte in Hindi Cinema).
A repeat watch of TBOB is a genuine pleasure to me, this time the Hindi original with English subtitles (the German dubbed one was for the 1st watch). To me, it is about all the findings I'll get through the watching
