I agree with you.Seeing the advance bookings and trend the movie will most probably opened in 30+ crores range.The music,trailer etc of the movie didn't work.Also the promotions for this movie has been lowkey and bad too.It is clashing with Coolie which has a huge audience in the South(it will take majority of south audience).Good WOM and storyline could save the ship but the movie will most probably get average or semi hit tag.The movie seems to have humongous budget of 400 crores so to break even & get a hit the movie needed to earn a lot

Yeah I read about the film having 400 crore budget.

In the eyes of us viewers, we see the 400 crore budget, see the film underperforming, and know that there will be losses incurred.

Leave it to Bollywood, though, to spin it somehow and term the film as a "profitable venture" and "money spinner" 😂

Reminds me of how for Rocky Rani, they had to include overseas collections to declare the film a "Hit".

That was KJO's pr who declared Brahmastra a success at 250 cr made on a budget of 400 cr.

Why make part2 then? Was the idea or hope that popularity of Pathan and Tiger series, sans the last one, would carry this along? What will this one’s underperformance mean for Alpha?

Having the "blockbuster" tag associated to any film, generally helps with the hype of the next part/sequel, in my opinion.

Even if we look at the starting film in this universe, Ek Tha Tiger....it's all nostalgia speaking now, and the BLOCKBUSTER tag and initial craze that people remember fondly, but the film itself received mixed WOM. Pretty average content that is colored by strong music, star power, grand scale, and things like that.

Alpha seems like it will struggle, to be honest...but I guess it's still early to say!
