My Box Office Predictions for War 2

Spy movies generally are about a whatever imagined conflict (a mega evil guy/woman against humanity/a country), a solo hero (mostly) with one beautiful woman (or surrounded by them) and extreme stunts (really done or vfxed). Good background score and a special song add to the entertainment factor.

I like the YRF SpyUniverse because they add very personal things to the narrative. And - yes - in Pathaan, they linked the different spy heroes/movies for the first time.

I think, Spy movies are made for pure entertainment and not to dissect them and their (lacking) logic.

That’s a shockingly low opening for this movie. I’m guessing above 40, but honestly I won’t be too surprised if your opening prediction come true. Nothing about this movie has clicked.

I think you’re spot on about it being an average box office at the end.

like saaiya made 350 domestic..

War 1 opened at 50cr and couldn't even finish at 300cr..tells a lot that the original was also not well received or else a movie opening at 50cr should have touched 400cr at least

What was HR's last hit? i believe it was war itself 6 years ago..he needs to play less with bronzer and do something different..all his movies have started looking the same with a different side kick in 2 piece..

@bold Exactly, and this is the point that everyone seemed to miss about the original....

To go from a record-breaking 50 cr opening day, and to only finish at 290 cr lifetime, was rather embarrassing.

The highest grossing film at that time (Dangal) had opened with 29 cr (almost HALF of War opening), but it went on to do 375 cr lifetime!!

i think we need to stop comparing every movie with Saiyaara box officelet Ahaan deliver another 200 grossers then we will do the talking

anyway, honestly before watching War i thought its gonna be average affair or bomb, but when saw the movie & Hritik liked it much , so gonna give a watch to this one too, lets see

but yeah trailer and song has been anything but disappointing.

When it comes to the comparisons with Saiyaara, I feel the law of averages will show here.

Kabir Khan delivered a Blockbuster with Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and then the next month, he delivered a FLOP with Phantom....

The same will happen here: Saiyaara being a blockbuster in July, while War 2 nearly turns out a DUD at the box office in August...

Coincidence how both examples were of July/August releases, lol!

YRF aren't creative geniuses to strike box office gold back-to-back....
