There is still a masterclass next week which home cooks are also there. I recognize priyanka and Swarna from MCI season 7 and some other lady. So there’s going to competiton between home cooks and celebrity cooks.

Here is my opinion on the contestants dishes in the final.

Rajiv - Both his dishes had Gujarat flavours. One is thepla pani puri and other is a cup cake kinda thing. Surprisingly his starter was better as desserts has been his core strength. His dessert is too sweet. I somewhat agree with Farah Khan that maybe pani puri isnt an ideal final dish but he tried to make the elemenrs different. Being 5th/4th is justified, I think his ideas could have been better and the plating wasn’t his best either.

Faisu - I am surprised he ended up 4th/5th. I said this before I m still saying it. The thing is I can’t recall either his Haleem nor his coconut dessert getting a negative feedback. He got really good comments. He deserved the Top 3 place instead of Teja tbh. His plating was good in his second dish, but i found the chocolate decoration a bit creepy (i love chocolates though). I think Faisu has been clearly robbed. Sanjeev Kapoor gave his style of spoon tap (Lo Karlo Baat) to Faisu’s Haleem and Gaurav’s dessert only!

Teja - Tbh I loved her ideas. This is the reason why I rooted for her intially (but then I became neutral cause of the bias). But I felt her execution wasn’t that great in terms of taste. Farah Khan especially criticized something in both her dishes that’s why I am surprised she became 3rd. Even Rajiv had less negative comments than her. From the comments I thought she will be 5th. Her first dish the crystal bread was bold but it didnt work out in taste and plating. Her 2nd dish looked pretty, but then again had issues with taste.

Nikki - Her first dish was really good. I think this was her best plating throughout the season. As always the taste of her food got praised. However, her second dish, I didn’t like the plating. It did not look visually appealing at all, it did seem delicious though. I think she came this far cause of her flavours but lacked innovation. Irony she said she always innovated. Based on today dishes, yeah she deserves Top 3, but for 2nd it’s kinda close between her and Faisu.

Gaurav - I think he saved his best week of the finals. Nah he did not miss a hattrick. He achieved it. Hattrick of brilliant desserts. I loved his dessert, a good color contrast and the ice-cream shape and color was different too. As for his main course that he served earlier, he did what he wanted that is to represent veg food well. Even Chef Ranveer was licking his fingers I still think first dish Nikki’s was slightly better, but second dish settled it all and Gaurav came clearly ahead. Deserving winner for sure!

As for the judges I feel they were sugarcoating their comments since it was the finals. Farah was the most straightforward and criticized the most, and Vikas too criticized a little. Ranveer did not say a single negative comment(I used to think he was the most strict but in this stage he is the most lenient) Sanjeev Kapoor I understand since he was a guest.

The Ranking I feel should have been like this based on judges comment:

5th - Teja

4th - Rajiv

3rd - Nikki

2nd - Faisu

1st - Gaurav

ranveer had an absolute foot in mouth moment when he absolutely went bonkers over tejas dessert and the combo - oh kokum with choco is just a brilliant taste and farah literally said no its not working for me and vikas, his expression then and there was hilarious like 🫠🫠. Two minutes of farah speaking about it and ranveer just had a what just happened moment. I know food and taste is subjective but I bursted out laughing in that section of feedback. 🤣 ranveer needs to chill and not give ott cringe feedback to his favs. Other one was gauravs dessert early this week , I get it , it was brilliant but stop with the ott ness, it then screams fake and irritating. Ffs its food.

Also why was everyone so emotional over when Gaurav came to serve his dessert? Ranveer came and talked to him while he hugged. Its been a tough week you have kept it all in, what am I missing, just coz his family isnt present in finale , itna drama?

Ya saw Suwarma and Priyanka it would have been better if they have brought Nayan and Shanta top 2 of MCI season 7 since Gaurav and Nikki are top 2 of celebrity masterchef other lady you probably know her. I don’t have problem with Suwarna but why priyanka.

Gaurav was always judges favorite. They always helped and guided him especially in last 4 weeks much more than other contestants.

Rajeev was kept for the fun factor to entrained Tv audience and he was an expert in desserts and decorations (much more than Gaurav but he does not have concentration or will to win)

Rajeev is the artist among all the contestants his decorations and designs especially sweets and cakes is always way above others and he has creativity

Nikki is best cook of show above Gaurav or Tejaswini but lacks in decoration (and is not good at pleasing judges, shes definitely blunt and not a people pleaser) but she struck to maharastra food mostly

Tejas is second best cook in the top 5 contestants above even Guarav. Gaurav does not know much cooking other than ice cream and cakes but he knows how to decorate and please judges by talking sweetly to them and guests.

I was actually shocked by what he and rajeev did on finals as dishes one did red rice with coconut milk and herbs(which is weekly food in south) and jackfruit curry (which is again everyday food in summer in south) and some sauces (which is very easy to make) and rajeev with chat(ggol gappa) both had worst dishes for a final actually. Toughest dish was made by tejaswi and nikki in final than faisu

Third best cook is obviously faisu who can cook non veg and sweets well

The weakest cook was Gaurav among top 5 but won based on his dessert display skills but hes very good people pleader and at marketing himself

I would say even archana is better cook than Gaurav in general by how they cooked (over all dishes)

But like they say best skilled rarely wins in any field (like Rahul dravid who won more matches for india than sachin tendulkar ever because your popularity is not really based on great skills or your ability in any field)

For me best cook on show were deepika and kavitha and usha tai than nikki and teju and rajeev is best at sweets and pastry
