It is such a nice show...niao niao was too good in comedy timing...

Well in an alternate universe... he seemed to have followed her to the immortal realm (in The Last Immortal ) And trust me there too their dynamics remained the same but fortunately he did find his share of love after 2 or more(he was 3rd angle in another show I watched) lifes of unrequited love

About Yao, honestly I could never take that guy seriously as one of Niao Niao's suitor. To me he resembled an obedient pet. Especially the way she was feeding him from her carriage (even pointed out by her mom)

Yao looked like an extension of his character Demo(played by the same actor) in go go squid. Hence I couldn't help but love him here too.

Sachi when I saw that scene , the same thought came to my mind 🤣 and niao's mom spelled it out as it is 🤣 that he looks like her pet . She was just looking for a simple husband , an excuse to run away frm her home , a dreamy life which he promised (but couldn't fulfill , she didn't understand that ) ..she would've jumped into one hell hole from another .. simple as that..for this I love her mother a lot..she tried to stall them for sometime at least 😆

With zisheng , she experienced true love ..and I'm glad it wasn't sudden ..it was slow & steady & in the process she matured a lot ..she experienced filial love (frm the empress & emperor ) ..she experienced heart break & healing also ..for that I have so much to write , I'll do that today, I've only 3 epis left..

But yuan was an interesting man yaar I liked their banters (ofc coz of the way she shunned him off ) ..there was no romance in it from her side ..but a diff vibe ..he acted like a narcissist (which he wasn't yet acted like one ) n she felt nice to put him down 😆their talks about marriage were too funny & before her family got into trouble it was mostly about her suitors 😅 . But later he was surprisingly there for her & supported her fully ..also tried his luck to get her .

I like the parallel leads as long as they're not clingy & obsessive ..coz I'm of the opinion that one should've waste their time on somebody who don't love them ..it's not worth ..it's OK to pursue but if it's actually love , they would let go & be happy in their happiness..

Just a few words about the other characters as I'm about to finish love like the galaxy..

The second season as they call it , it was more focused on niao & her palace adventures ..although I'd love to see her family alongside but nvm the way it is , was endearing too .

The emperor - simply the best 👌 ruler ,the best husband & best elder to zisheng and niao ..his.playful act was different , it was hilarious & it was endearing 😍 I haven't seen another man who could balance between 2 beautiful lovely ladies so well..and him worrying about zishengs marriage & acting cupid later was just the best 👌

Consort yu -aaaaaawwwww I abs adore her ..what a badass woman ! She knew when to speak how to speak , her camaraderie with her husband , maturity with empress, sterness with her maternal family , love for zisheng and niao , her wisdom for the subjects , politics & the nation , everything was commendable ! 🤩 this woman was just wow ! I loved how she made the anti social elements in her family shut up , how she put in place all the bratty children 😆 comforted the emperor and gave him the best advice .. when empress asked her if she resented him coz she snatched her place , consort yu said it's been long forgotten & she's not the only who will blame the woman when her husband married her & gave her that place ..the best dialogue 👏

Empress xuan 🤩 wow is the word for her..niao experienced motherly love for the first time thx to her ...she gave her unconditional love , she supported niao, understood her , also teach her in a way that she would feel happy, correct her where she faltered ..they say no, just in the company of wise people , you learn ..her compassion & unconditional love was umparalleled...niao was so rebellious at home & no matter how hard her mother tried , she refused to learn anything ..not all.students are bad , it could be the teachers fault also 😁 I loved it how she asked emperor to denounce her & the crown prince coz he wasn't worthy of that position..n admitted how she always jealous of consort Yue & felt inadequate tht her husband couldn't love her the way he loved the other woman ! She wanted & she deserved undivided love but she wasn't Destined to..this is not what she chose so she couldn't make peace it it ..she just had to endure it silently ..in the end it was heart breaking when she said meeting you was my best fortune but I wouldn't want it in the next life..all this time I was hoping that she would order zisheng to marry niao but jaate jaate bhi she said marriage can't be forced 🙂‍↕️ perfect end to a perfect character!

The bitter sweet feelings when a show ends 😢 I hate it ..

But it reached its logical end , although I wish the numbers of episodes were less, more focused on the leads & less of blood bath and ppl coming bk to take revenge and then their people would come bk to take revenge and then theirs . Uff ! I'd like to erase the last 3 epis which I kept for the last.. except for 2 -3 scenes which made me cry , I just wanted them bk together but they stretched it right till the end ..damn ! I hate to find flaws in an amazing show.

But I had to write down full s2 from the point where niao niao rejected zisheng right ?

Their scenes were limited but impactful..I always thought why ..why would they not focus on the love story ? To my surprise , every damn thing had a reason here ..the reason surfaces later but till then , I loved to watch niao niao adjusting to the palace , facing the petty plottings, learning from the empress ..her personal growth and her falling in love with zisheng slowly kept me hooked..

Every plot basically brought them close ..the moment where she was bullied badly & asked him to hug her tight was their best scene in the series ..😍

Isn't it unfair that she didn't tell him about the lake incident saying that women don't need men at all places & she could defend herself, that I am me & not just generals wife to be , n he took it as a breach of trust & went on a rampage to take revenge for her in anger , and when the tables were turned , she accused him of the same thing after they promised eo lifetime of trust ..obviously what he did was far far serious ...

I couldn't find faults in their complex love story , even if I try to ...coz things such as I die you die are stupid imo ...nobody would want any harm to come to the person they love , even at the cost of their life..theres a natural protective instinct , in parents for their children , in husband for his wife and vice versa.....things such as I trust you to tell me everything, easier said than done , " depend on me for everything" is also conditional in practical situations...Specially in his bec he was also a general of the empire & entrusted with a lot more responsibilities than her ..

Inspite of that , both were so right from where they stood & I can't fault them for doing what they did ..that's how beautifully the last track was written ..still , I could relate to his reasons more than hers (that doesn't mean she should forgive him instantly or acted different ) ..very smartly the writers had given her the dialogue "as long as you dont decieve me , i wont leave you " 😟

She had abandonment issues & her world was limited to that much ..she failed to see beyond, n it was also pointed out by the empress ..When it's abt her and her grandmother , she can resent her ..she can resent zisheng also ..but in both these persons there's a vast difference..one would affect just niao niao and her grandmother..other would affect a lot more ppl , like I said he was not only her lover / would be husband ..

The climax scene (the massacre) was so so so well done 👏 brilliant cinematography !

What follows waa heartbreaking chain of events ..leading to their separation & reconcliation..

He couldn't possibly drag her down with him to an uncertain painful future and even if he did it to her , he couldn't let her witness her family getting massacred...at that moment , he had no choice but to abandon her.. ..but then ..why did he say he regretted it? That's the thing ..he shouldn't have said it ..that's the reason I wish they explored more on this , rather than going over the life abd death situations again..

Goes without saying he would protect her first , die with her..but how could he let her die for him ? He won't..she won't let him die for her either ..so why didn't she understand this ? She could understand his revenge , she understood why he didn't tell her , but she was heartbroken when he abandoned her ..

I understand him lying at that point when he was asked if he regretted ..he wanted to atone , he couldn't forgive himself , he understood he'll never be forgiven by her n that he broke her heart in thousand pieces 💔 what I'm trying to say is , I wanted both of them to reflect on the past & naturally come bk to each other ..bec anything other than that wouldn't fit the narrative as they were so deeply in love ..

Towards the end when they see each other after 5 yrs I couldn't stop crying 😢 also that scene where her mother tries to cheer her up & says sorry

as cringe as that was, I actually appreciate the makers for making the characters act their age. I mean we really can't expect more form this pair as they were basically a pair of 15 year old "Nibba-Nibbi"

While Yuan was a head-master level scholar And Ling Buyi was basically running the kingdom with the crown prince being an useless puppet of the corrupt party & Emperor going all kind over the rebels except for biting anyone speaking a word against Ling Buyi or disrupting his love life

On the other side he wanted to marry shoshang soon...suppose after they got married on said date if he knew who was his village murderer, he would have taken revenge na..then also shoshang will be implicated.. Why did he proceed to get engaged to her first place when any day he was supposed to avenge death and face consequences..

Yeah that's where he was wrong ..very wrong..that's why they separated for 5 yrs..ss said no ke I don't know in this while which all moves were calculated & which were sincere ..although she didn't doubt his feelings but he was using her at times in his grand scheme of things which she couldn't bear..

But in his defence ..

He knew very well what he's been planning for so long , it might end up real bad..but then his only hope was that he could find evidence against Ling yi and implicate him lawfully .....he was constantly working towards it but when peng Kang died , that last bit of hope was lost ..n that's when he decided to end it all..

That's the one and only loose end of the story ..the evidence which even he couldn't put his hands on , niao niao found it so easily and exonerated him 😁 all of it looked very easy but I don't think it was..just bec we saw the full story & that emperor helped him later , heard him out , he was saved frm the cliff , they also found evidence to save him , it looked that way ke if he told her earlier on , and they married first, things would work out one way or the other ..but it really wasn't certain ..he didn't plan out that one thing ke niao knows it all n she would be standing right behind him , ready to face the consequences..he actually planned to die

He wouldn't marry her before he carried out his revenge..that's the reason their marriage was delayed & everything was delayed ..like betrothal gifts and all..it was a fact ke if they married & his plan goes south , niao niao and her whole family would perish with him ..he witnessed his clan's death , he couldn't let her be the reason for the cheng family's death..that one time she risked her life to save them , they were her dear family..how could she see them getting executed bec of her and her husband, incase they married ?

What broke her was he abandoned her on the cliff n said their fated relationship has ended ..n when he said he doesn't regret leaving her n die , she ended it with him

From what I understood he didn't regret his decision of him choosing to save her and going for "I die You die situation" rather it was him going with the decision of revenge and the massacre on the night before his wedding. i.e choosing revenge in place of happiness.

If everything went along with his plan & that useless crown prince didn't delay him & the rebel general wasn't poisoned in the jail by Ling patriarch he could easily prove the entire conspiracy & get his revenge then peacefully get married to Niao Niao & live happily ever after but alas with that rebel general's death all ways to bring the truth to light was gone(according to his knowledge) so was his chance to obtain justice legally. With that to him only 2 ways was left, one was for forget revenge & get married to Niao Niao and live for himself and other was the one he took. You see he was in 2 minds till his aunts death. He makes the decision on her death bed when she askes him to not forget it. And kind of gives Niao Niao a silent farewell when he comes to see her in front of the palace before executing his plan.

You see after he gets his revenge i.e. killing the scum... he has a maniac laugh then stops. There is this empty feeling on his face i.e. justice served now what ? next he turns around and sees Niao Niao standing in the wedding dress ( no matter how heartbreaking... this scene was beautifully shot). That's where he felt the regret. Regret for not choosing the love & happiness that was waiting for him.

Sure he didn't know the emperor would believe him the moment the the words leave his lips about him being general hua's son. Sure he didn't know that the emperor too would be as much eager to get brutal justice for his best friend. Sure he didn't know that there was more proofs hidden by the mistress.

But sure he could marry Niao Niao, come clean to her & fulfil the promise. Sure he try to keep calm & scheme more as surely Ling was not someone who would stop doing evil. As long as Ling believed Buyi was his son, he won't harm him. He could keep scheming & expose his future evils. Or maybe plan the massacre and blame it on the overexcited general and his "royal-kick-hungry" minister brother or the rebel restaurant guy

but I guess our 15 year old nibbi with abandonment issues needed to grow up as well as our unbelievably-qualified general(come on the brat is just 21) had some lessons to learn. He can't be rushing to fight 200 battles a year now or else Yuan is still all safe, sound & single in the capital and logically its true that he has more chance to live longer.

p.s. I hate this new rule of c-dramas of limiting episodes. Can you believe they actually had cut the drama cut shot by 10 episodes ?

according to his plans, he was really good in scheming so before marriage he would get his revenge legally. so blame the stupid crown prince for spoiling it

His sweet ex surely deserved better then him. Good for her not ending up with this guy. Every decision he took was wrong. All his duties were carried out by zisheng including where to hide what. He always needed someone or other to decide for him. I won't be surprised if he was seen asking Zisheng or some uncle of his when & where could he answer the call of nature.
