Retaining Stalin was fine ( I don’t think he is an great shakes in acting, half the time swallows his dialogues🙄), should have gone with 3 fresh ML and FLs which they did with KR and ST but ultimately ended up with JM as SM. Nirosha again is a misfit for this character, neither like the character nor like the acting.

I agree. I was not okay with Hema in S2. Stalin was fine because he was playing a different character. But, Hema is almost playing the same character, just that she has worked at a job for more than 2 days this time.

No offence to Venkat's fans and fans of Season 1. But what made S2 different was fresh casts and dynamics. The 3 brothers were perfect for the role. Now that they brought in Venkat, in any angle he does not looks like a younger brother to Saravanan (in real life Saravanan aka VJ Kathir is one of the youngest) and looks way older than Kathir. And if Venkat really wants to be in the mainstream acting field, at least he could have gone for work out and maintain a proper body. In the promo of him standing with a singlet, he almost looks like a pregnant person.

Also people have seen Hema with Venkat for years. Could have brought in someone else as Senthil even if Vasant left/fired.

Absolutely! Fresh faces and a fresh story are why I decided to watch S2 even though I skipped watching the last 1-2 months of S1 (saturated storyline).

Now it feels like rinse and repeat!

@red I agree. When I saw the promo I thought indha figure does not suit further studies and a govt job (govt jobs have age criteria).

Since the team made the mistake of bringing Hema in S-2 and for some reason Vasanth Vasi did not stick, the only alternative for him according to the PH team would be Venkat. Now Senthil-Meena are reminding me of JM of S-1. This is exactly why they shouldn’t have taken Hema/Meena in S-2 and wrote almost a similar sketch for her like S-1 except the job part.
Saravanan-TM is a fresh pair though they are ultra pro max cringe just like Kannan-Aishwarya of S-1

Kathir-Raji are also a very fresh pair and likable too and their character sketches are different from KM of S-1
Its only Senthil-Meena which is now totally giving JM vibe.

First episode since the beginning of the show with just Senthil-Meena and Kathir-Raji scenes.

It is very clear that after Venkat’s entry in hey are giving more importance to Senthil’s character. I really liked today’s episode.

It was great not to see Scumbag Pandian, Dimwit Gomathi, Simp Saravanan, incorrigible and uneducated Mayil in today’s episode. Arasi and Kuzhali don’t exist for me, both are wasted characters and not miss them at all Infact I want many such episodes without them.
The only other person I probably missed in today’s episode was Palanivel Mama.

So the brothers promised they won’t tell their wives about their secret job hunting, Senthil planning to work hard to get a Government job so Meena’s parents can accept them. Kathir planning to take up a second job over the weekend as an acting driver. Both promptly told their respective wives about the other brother’s job plans. Next morning, the 2 Co-sisters blurted out to each other. So both know their husband’s plans

Idhu thaan secreta kaapathara latchanama? Ask Gomathi, and TM both will teach these brothers how to hide a secret from others, pretend as of nothing happened and its not your concern, turn the tables on others and throw them under the bus Brothers have a long way to go in keeping each other’s secrets from their respective spouses

In short any episode will be great if the above mentioned characters with special adjectives are not there

Yes, noticed the same. 3 days in a row we are seeing Senthil and Meena scenes together which is very rare. I also saw a video on Youtube saying that according to Stalin, Vasanth is a very decent and calm person but everyone has their limit and apparently the production kept finding fault with Vasanth and he left in anger. Nevertless he wished Vasant a good future. If this was true, then it looks like obvious reason to take out Vasanth and bring in Venkat.

So far im still not able to see Senthil. I'm only seeing Jeeva from S1 let it be his body language, mannerism and slang. None of Pandian's childrens has slang except Senthil now which doesn't suits Senthil's character

Also there is a 2 hours episode this weekend. Looks like we would be seeing more of Senthil and Meena this time or TM and Saravanan's honeymoon

That’s sad if the PH chased Vasanth out by not treating him well. Only in serials we don’t see self respect much but this is real life, he must have felt really bad at the way he was being treated. If others came in support, they would have been fired too. Also why did they cast him if they didn’t like the way he acted. Poor guy got the short end of the stick both in Season 1 and 2.
Venkat is definitely giving plenty of Jeeva vibes. Being a Jeeva fan myself, I don’t mind Venkat as an actor but the PH and the writers should not have repeated the actors and characters in this season as well. Like I said yesterday, SM are now slowly becoming JM and their storyline is pivoting to what JM endured in Season 1. These problems all stemmed from Hema being casted as Meena in this season as well with minimal changes to her characterization from Season 1. 80% of Meena we see in this season is how Meena was in Season 1.

I am barely able to see a 1/2 hr episode without skipping, can’t tolerate a 2 hr episode especially if its about annoying TM-Saravanan, Pandian-Gomathi. All these 4 characters need to be banished from the face of the earth

I also saw one of Vasanth's interview. According to him, he was approached for a cameo role for only 2 months (Prashant) in PS1. He was hesitant initially since its a negative role but agreed since it was only 2 months. But he and the maker's didn't except that the role would get good reception and the makers decided to extend his role. Since he was not happy to play negative role for long, he left once the 2 months contract completed. He mentioned that people think he left the show midway but his initially discussed contract ended, hence he left.

Bharathidasan Colony also only ran for 2 months and was getting good reviews but there was some problem between the production team and the channel hence prematurely ended. Even about PS2, he mentioned that he heard rumors spreading about him leaving PS2 its not confirmed yet. Lets see he said. So looks like he had problem with the team and the team was going to replace him
