LRL was awesome smiley10 Old ITV shows were fantastic...They had this weekly once format like PTV. They were refreshing. But right now, ITV is in it's worst phase.. All good actors are in their late 30s n they don't get good scripts..Those who are doing shows right now are not worth mentioning 😕

Exactly...that's why many actors have turned to OTT...they get to experiment there unlike TV

LRL is one of my favourite shows, refreshing that time, doordarshan times were best in terms of stories and limited episodes

I hope they start finite series in TV too instead of these never-ending sagas

Yes there are still the Bechari roles but at least in prime time slots the female leads are good. Still issues with writing them - writers tend to make them badtameez while making them independent n what not but a step in the right direction, at least.

Not falling out of love though can be true. Shibra didn’t let go of Shahmeer even for a second after finding out his truth lol. Unrealistically so. Kuch tou drama kerti thori der ke liye 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷‍♀️

But overall I do see an effort to make FL unconventional, flawed and more real.

Exactly. This leaving problematic men is such a rare thing in PTV. I was so rooting for Mehreen to leave Aswad in Ham Kahan Kay Sachay Thay but she still went with him in the end. And the problem is our so called educated reviewers like SH were also justifying it. 🤦🏻‍♀️

SH ko tou rehne hi do. Woh apne mood aur clout ke mutabiq chaltay hain smiley39 The selective nitpicking of non issues versus desperate justifications for something bizarre … it’s a pattern with them lol. Watch them only for entertainment if you must Warna hard pass

Yes I’m really enjoying the good hero roles who’re dealing with such complicated women. Bus aisa hi rahay hamesha please 🙏 I honestly love it smiley36 Getting to see somewhat better versions of men on tv and also seeing complicated and somewhat problematic FL is refreshing. Writers just need to learn to write the FL a bit better and not go overboard with some elements. It’s a learning curve for the writers but I appreciate this effort

True. I hope our dramas improve in the right direction. Currently I still feel that they tend to show strong women but somehow that strength is not shown in a positive light but portrayed as something negative. As you mentioned that instead of making FL out spoken or straight talker they tend to make her badtameez or mouthy. Same with other attributes like instead of showing her as brave they turn her into reckless. General audience then gets irritated and our actresses face the burnt of it. But I am keeping my fingers crossed for things to improve.

No idea. There is no news on this front it seems. Otherwise you do get to hear upcoming projects news on different portals or at least I didn't encounter any.

I have been wanting to discuss this. Do you think male writers write a good romance? I have not come across a good male romance writer so far. At least not in PTV if I may say so. KRQ is there. But I don't find any male writer in PTV who can write a sizzling romance like TB. What do you guys think.

Also, how is it in ITV?

Good hero roles are fine but they shouldn’t be so good that they start looking like a caricature. Jimmy in DNTUN is the best example of a good hero role for me.

I think Vasay Chaudhary is the only one who wrote good romance he wrote yeh shadi nahi ho sakti with Mohib and Urwa

And about ITV it's already got ruined since DKP has become the new Ekta they are the Indian Version Of Big Bang Entertainment
