Agreed that the editing made her look really weird and unlikable.

Though I must admit, when it was on air, I didn't think that it was MR. I thought it's just you know dubious consent or Angry s**. Because I thought if it's a happy ending, why would anyone forgive someone who forced you. But after some time, I observed certain things and then realised ke shayad MR hi tha

But I will judge a drama only with what they show us onscreen. So onscreen, in the drama it didn't happen

Haan it was like that only. People were concerned about Murtasim. I remember saying it in another forum only if Starplus men were as deeply loved as Murtasim, they would've gotten saved as well smiley37

When that promo released my mind went to the lyrics of the OST, it hinted at that.

Yeah they didn't show it so it was Meerab who came out to be wrong.

I think we discussed this.. I don't know..

But they should have worried about a bad and evil deed but I felt they were more worried ke arey pyaara Murtasim kaise kar sakta hai. You can't make him do..

But chalo atleast usi waja se he was saved..

Warna that happy ending would have been terrible..

Also I remember Amna was obviously against MR & HEA if it was MR. But after final episode she was like theek hai na if she wants to forgive. I thought arey kaisi paltu hai yesmiley36

i kept vacillating. but in last episode, all that groveling and maafi talk by murtasim, the multiple can i touch moments, sirf merub ki marzi chalegi suggested otherwise smiley19smiley19smiley19

but yes in the show it never happened. i was only talking of my thoughts when watching the show.

I think the saving Murtasim thing is interpreted unjustly in some ways. I was invested in Meerasim. My objection was that there is no place of MR/SA in a Romance. Agar DDLJ mai Raj Simran ka SA karta toh my backlash would have been about ruining the love story and not saving Raj ka cktr. There was nothing in Raj or Murtasim's characterization to suggest this heinous violation and assault, The whole show for 46 episodes was consent ka lollipop. MR was a direct betrayal of audience expectations of what we signed up to watch.

I got Merub until ep 31-32 and even saw cktr growth till then (because of Yumna's performance). But once Mariam track went in full swing, Merub stopped making sense to me overall (i still got her in moments but not some others). It seemed the makers would often forget everything that had happened before and what Merub was supposed to be like.

@bold I meant that for many people. Your reasons ofcourse must be correct for objection just like mine. But I observed and felt why many people didn't want MK to do that. Bcz they loved him.

Also yes. Whole Nikaah thing was based on consent & how he shouts at house members & defends her. But suddenly he does SA? How? & From what angle Nooran felt like saying Maza ayega, Idksmiley36

Yeah we did.

People connect more with characters than the plot. Murtasim was a rage. I can understand people losing it over the MR fiasco.

Amna likes alpha heroes. Unke sau khoon maaf smiley37

The series should have concluded around episodes 30 only with Meerasim accepting each other fully. With the dragging it became about money making only.

Meerab was terrible during Mariam track.

Waise anyone from Pakistan here? Is Hiramandi still there in Lahore and is it still a red light area? Just curious. Can google but it's better to know from a person living in Pak

google says the mandi still exists but I’m not sure how accurate that is

Look. I’m not one to bring everything roundabout back to TB. I think everyone knows facts already.

Bottomline? Meerab ended up becoming a lawyer supported by her husband. She didn’t have to give up her dreams or ambitions. The whole consent angle and her returning to him with her own free will also came back full circle. She saved him.

The whole point of IM was Shahmeer becoming a great politician like his mom with Shibra’s support. The angle with his mom was so important. As were the scenes where he was learning the problems faced by the common man while he was FB. Politics was a huge aspect of the show. So this end? This is some bizarre cop out by the writer. Own your story and character arcs at least
