Let me clear it now. It is pure coincidence. I did this poll for fun, just like I have done several ones before. I don't hate celebs barring 2-3, Aishwarya is not one of these 2-3.

The biased and one-sided fan-wars on this forum are ridiculous, eye-rolling and painful to read.

Following is my take on all three - as someone who is neither a die-hard of any of them, nor a hater.
(yes Sherlock, it's possible)


Rani - She is one of the most versatile and "complete" actresses in Bollywood. Post her "cringe" debut, she improved by leaps and bounds and became quite a prominent name in late 90s. From early to mid 2000s, beside Aish and Preeti, she became the go-to actress for all big producers/directors. Nobody cared much about Kareena at that time.
Then Rani's peak time during 2003-2005was just something else. She was at the top of her game in 2005 with Black. Sadly her career suffered during 2006-2013 period, But she still did some good work during this period like Ta Ra Rum Pum like No One Killed Jessica and hence, she was not a complete wash-out. Thankfully Mardani happened in 2014 before she took a break.

Her 2nd innings since 2018 have been great and she is the only one in Bollywood today headlining a franchise on her solo-shoulders. Aish and Kareena can't even dream of pulling a franchise like Mardaani today. Surely her being a YashRaj Bahurani helps, but that doesn´t change the fact that she is one fo the most talented actresses in Bollywood. There may be a bad Rani film, but there will never be a bad Rani performance. (something that can't be said about Kareena/Aish).


Kareena - It's interesting that she started as a contemporary of Amisha, Esha, Amrita Rao etc and was mostly in the background in the first 6 years of career. But Jab We Met in 2007 truly changed her life and career. She had a dream-run during 2007-2012 period giving one blockbuster after one other, and was a solid competitor to Priyanka, Katrina and Vidya. (all juniors to her debut-wise) Even post 2013, she has stayed relevant as an A-lister despite the emergence of Deepika, Alia etc.

It's true that Kareena benefited the most by frequently working opposite middle-aged Khans, Akshay and Ajay in her 24+ years of career (something that Rani and Aisha couldn't do) but her ability to persevere, grow and move on with the times has made her THE STAR that she is today. Kudos to her for not giving up her career post marriage or pregnancy which was the norm earlier.

Even today, her name brings a certain kind of A-list credibility to the films she associates herself with. Not to mention, she is popular with GenZ unlike Rani and Aish who are now being referred as old gen stars.

Aishwarya - GenZ and young Millenials have no idea that Aishwarya was popular and quite successful as a model, even before her debut as an actress. So, she is much more than a Salman's-ex or a Bacchan Bahu. By late 90s, Aishwarya was already giving competition to all reigning 90s actresses (Madhuri, Kajol, Karisma, Manisha, Urmila etc) and she single-handedly dethroned them with her success post HDDCS and Taal.

Then despite being boycotted for sometime, she became one of the bigger stars throughout the 2000s with films like Mohabatein, Josh, Devdas, Khakee, "Kajra Re" song, Dhoom 2, Guru, Sarkar Raj, Jodha Akbar, Raavan, Robot and Guzaarish. This is a feat that no other 90s debutant has. Imagine where her career would've been if she did films Veer Zara, Chalte Chalte, Parineeta (and numerous other where she was first choice) as well.

In addition to this, Aish became THE FIRST actress from Bollywood to establish a name in Hollywood on her own credebility and talent. Please note that she did this before the "diversity and inclusion" wave, that benefited Priyanka. She also worked in South Indian films occassionaly, while Rani and Kareena never stepped out of Bollywood and noone knows them abroad, unlike Aishwarya who has a global image.

Sadly, Aishwarya doesn't have a legacy or much of a career as an actress anymore because of her break post pregnancy and failed comebacks. But as a global/national icon, she has way BIGGER legacy than Rani and Kareeena combined.There's a reason that just a mention of her name by a politician can spark a debate, even today.

This thread is on whose popular not acting which is subjective as mentioned. Yet here’s my view: .

Popularity in India presently it’s Kareena because she outta the heroines we have as the biggest pull n track record in acting I would still choose Kareena too. Mrs. Giggly would be last when comes to that as it’s only her beauty n dance that some were memorized in till others came to the industry then that wasn’t even there.

Outside India popularity it be Mrs giggly because she’s done international movies in her prime n was on lettermen etc n some were memorized on her looks n others her classical dance in movies which prior madhuri n sridevi had there label but mrs giggly to some as beauty is subjective but since she was 1st Indian to win miss world that title became hers not that she is truly the most beautiful in the whole world lol 😂 that’s what irritated me n her 🤭 giggles hence the name I gave her. Anyhow, she’s more known internationally due to this and being the 1st Indian woman to attend Cannes ( though sonam was invited too but we can leave that aside)then Kareena n rani which no one can deny. Now PRIYANKA as taken that title as the most known international celeb since she married Nick Jonas and had an American tv show though her marrying NICK made most eveyone know who she is Indians Americans as she’s at all American events n tv shows etc and known in other European countries since she married NICK( but she wasn’t a choice in the poll lol ).

So in case we talking on notoriety ) being known then it would vary but in case we talking in INDIA and in general on power on who can pull viewers to theaters then it’s KAREENA. Based on my take n this poll it’s KAREENA

At present probably Kareena as she is still working.

However when Aishwarya was working, I think she had the biggest stardom - she was pretty famous in Hollywood as well.

And I always want to make clear that you weren't the one I was referring to although I can see why it could be construed that way since I posted my cautionary warning in your poll so sorry about that. As a matter of fact, I love reading your posts and comments!

Very few people drag Alia as much as you do and I live for that.

What I like the most in this poll (without voting myself I don't know the result) are some balanced comments who respect that each of the three have their own place in the stardom 'Pantheon'.

The one with the most followers on social media is winning.

For those saying Rani has little to no starpower, keep this in mind. She's a recluse. She's admitted to it multiple times and how she doesn't like public attention in her private life. She didn't have a grand event for a wedding and that's because she married an even bigger recluse than herself. Aishwarya and Kareena lived very public lives (and Kareena still does, as those threads pointing out how she and Saif use their kids for promotion), whereas Rani never kept her personal life in the tabloids and media. Her affairs with Govinda and Adi Chopra were mostly kept out of the limelight in part of this, plus her relationship with Abhishek which is still often a revelation to many. In contrast, consider Aish's relationships with Salman, Vivek, and Abhishek or Kareena's relationships with Shahid and Saif, all of which got plenty of media attention. Aish got more press for going to Hollywood plus her cold war with SRK and Salman. Kareena got press for all her ongoing feuds with every actress who wasn't a nepochild like her (Preity, Aishwarya, Amisha, Priyanka, Bipasha, etc.) and her KWK derogatory comments on just about everyone. Her behavior was deplorable in this period considering how she used to treat her fellow cast and crew but she got away with it because of her last name and the public ate it up.

Rani has always kept her work first. Her love life was as tawdry as the others but she kept it hidden to keep her profile unblemished. She still lacks social media to this day. She's still a star but in terms of star personality, she lacks that which puts her more in the same vein as Aamir. Nobody denies Aamir's stardom and popularity but he's never considered to drive the masses to almost religious fervor like SRK and Salman. Rani is more on those lines, which is also why she's often called the female Aamir and why she feels such a connection to him. In contrast, actresses like Aish, Katrina, Deepika, etc. follow more in the footsteps of SRK and Salman and Hrithik in terms of devoted followers and fans, not to mention stans.

What you wrote in your last post is one of the reasons I'm not a fan of those kind of polls but still like to write about my impressions.

The individuals are what fascinates me...not a ranking
