They made an official announcement with Kartik to be directed by Anurag Basu, leading lady to be cast later.  Part of it was definitely PR.  Everyone including Kartik wanted to cash in on the massive success of BB2.  They did acknowledge that they didn’t even have a script ready.  But had Basu and Mukesh Bhatt agreed on a story it probably would have gone into production at some point.

I don’t think Basu is very good TBH. If they proceed get a new director. An also get these franchise things sorted out
