Every third character will either be helper of yuvika or pawn of DJ. Kartik was supposed to be a layered character (acc to initial news) and they turn him a red flag and he played by dj.
HM took the all glory of investigation which neivika did for 3 months.
Kabir (again acc to initial news) suppose to worked for DB and has some beef. It was nice to see him giving reality checks to mahajans. But he turned out to be planted by dj and gargi and end up helping yuvika. I was so hoping him to double cross digvika. But they will never allow any other character to have that substance more than digvika.
DB they just wanted to play on Mahabharata nostalgia and keep older audience hooked(he only speaks in way he did in MB). So true
Neil you are right, only to appease NeiVika Neil and actor's fans, he doesn't serve much purpose in the show, to be honest Kartik in his limited and poorly written character played more important role than Neil.
In fact, simone also caused wardrobe malfunction to support dj and have her own monologue. Basically she also has a part in story.
Neil is neither a hero, nor a victim, nor a pawn, nor a catalyst. In fact, being a love interest he also don't have much importance because cvs hardly shows hardly any definitive moments of neivika.
Thing is ok if you want to keep it Yuvika or DigVika focussed, but still there is chance to give others some parallel role, small yet important, they can't do even that...
Every story has a central character, but supporting characters also plays an important role to proceed the story. Yaha to saare characters dumb down ho chuke hai.
DB is important only because he and Yuvika mutually fanboy/fangirl each other
