I was also thinking the same. Prem was leading a middle class life in rishikesh but apart from taking care of his family, he was also sending money to Avni and sending donation to that hospital or whatever it was. Prem ki harkato pe muje hamesha neil ke dialogue apt lagta hai- "mahanta hai mahanta...kam nai honi chahiye"
