Since I finally finished watching Railway Men, I enjoyed watching these roundtable discussions of the cast.....

Some things I learnt - they built that whole set to shoot on and were always shooting at nights, that too during Covid era.....Madhavan in particular praised the director a lot and said they didn't have to do extra effort as actors and just submitted themselves to him as a director. They also talked about his attention to detail for even junior artistes in the background and he was always very clear about what he wanted in a scene.

Juhi shot her part totally seperate from the rest of the cast and never even met them until now when the series released smiley36

Babil started shooting for this right after his father's death and really relied on KK Menon as a mentor to help him learn.

This was also fun.....the actors reacting to their scenes.....

Babil totally fanboying over all of them and so floored when they praised his performance in one scenesmiley36

It's really fun to see Madhavan and KK in particular talking about the technicality of the performances and what the intent of the performance was

Ok this took me a while to get too was gathering my thoughts ..and I am 100% sure I will still miss but will blab as things come bare with me.. I had a solid essay constructed last night in my head and now I feel hrmm again 🙃 đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«đŸ˜– enough disclaimer getting to the point. Also contains spoilers so beware

Watched animal and am mildly amused at the discourse Caz what did you expect going to a movie named Animal(with no actual animal) but hinting at the Unhinged nature that psyche that pushes someone to be even worse than animals and having no realization of his actions and creating this fictional reality of sorts in his head that whatever he is doing is for protection and to get that validation that someday his crazy will be praised and he will get his father..all for that few moments but alas at the tragedy which is sort of KARMA and his punish that sabke baad bhi Kismat doesn't allow him and haath khali hi rehte hain.. I really cannot rate the film I have enjoyed it as a film mainly Caz of the discussions it opened up that is if one wants to see it as a film and want too.. It is simple love it hate it cannot ignore it.. vanga indirectly ends up exposing many and the mindsets only the way he can. it is a character study of sorts and also ppinting out the ugly and double standards so out in the open and that whole wannabee vibe and usse offend hona when in reality secretly people do admire and get impressed with such content too.. matlab even I Disagree with a Lot in it but at the same time I see what vanga was trying to go and do from.the character's stand point not right but will I go cancelling not really Caz at the end of the day it is fiction.. I am just in a daze observing little things after and since I have had the chance to see some scenes multiple times I can do that better now..Caz the first time it really leaves you with WTF. What the heck are they going on about is this all necessary nahi janana mujhe nahi sunana mujhe as the dialogie is very bold and have pretty gross details at times that really should have been avoided but then at the same time it is a vanga thing too ke to make them sound more like a conversation he adds those so they don't sound like written dialogues and casual chatter which really is bruhhhh do I need to know the thread count on the principal character's underwear nooo đŸ™…â€â™€ïž or how he maintains his hygiene nope 🙉 but then vanga uses it to give him the excuse to wear the lungi in the principal sequence and have a reason for sudden change lol completely unnecessary aise hi pehna do bhai noone would question anyway .

A lot of discussion has been going on whether ranvijay has been glorified or he suffers or no with the lame finger pointing from camps but IMO at NO POINT in the feature his actions are Glorfied..Vanga makes sure to give each and every character disturbing facial expressions and disgust at him sewing his unhinged nature seeing how he is becoming psycho and a criminal..his father till the last moment keeps calling him a criminal and that we produced a criminal..he even goes to physically abuse him at his actions at the sister's college and then sends him away as a punishment to protect him from.going even more psycho but that really wasn't the solution..even after all this his supposed leadership running the gang too he has been he is a criminal it us the mother who waise toh has no attachment or love for any of her children and is a lamp post saying nahi don't call him that everytime the father says it and feels disgusted by him literally the only line she keeps saying..lmao his sister's felt disgusted by his madness His wife Keeps reminding and Callinf Him a mass murderer which he takes offense too and has ugly loathsome exoresiosn too. Everytime he does something somebody in the scene is horrified which includes his loved ones they are all shown disturbed and calling it out to his face so idk where it is glorified has come from Caz nah..nobody says he is a hero.. and do warn him to stop ..

now coming to the consequnces which in majorities mind is he didn't die. Caz apparently marein nahi toh consequences nahi hota..I have to go to the length and say nobody has dared to show the consequences in such detail that it became disturbing and they are consequ3nces majorly both mentally physically emotionally not only at the end but in the whole 2nd half..how many times have you naturally seen such major physical detailed consequ3nces after the war blazing gun shoot interval block..where he mass murders to save his life very very well done sequences and a STANDOUT BUT AGAIN DETAIL THAT THEY MAKE A POINT TO increase the volume by 10 folds in that particular sequences Caz they had to show a consequence of that 500 kg machine gun..( also side note I wasn't intending to use caps but if I go to fix it my train of thoughts will be lost) spoiler: the guy legit goes DEAF that is a huge physical disability and a consequence..his heart takes a bullet needing a transplant his lung gets punctured and his assets gets damaged to a point that he becomes basically disable to.perform normal functions needs a cathether and is a ticking time bomb in terms of death waiting at his door. It is then the self beleive and confidence ke kuch nahi Higa and I will survive this for my goal..ofcoruse frustration sets in he becomes even more annoying and irritable doing more crazy things which involves casual misogyny but that are consequnces and they are not limited to this he gets the result in face of the climax ... his dad dies literally when he thought he has conquered the world proven himself to be beat beta he will get the validation and most of all some time with his dad something he craved so badly something that shaped him into what he is wohi he cannot have Caz nature has other plans and sab jeet ke bhi kuch nahi aaya haath..His wife whom he did Love for real leaves him and that is a hold step in the vanga world that she has the agency to actually take that step tk take her kids away once all ships have sailed and she cannot take it anymore..and tk her credit she did suffer emotionally a lot and my heart is with Geetanjali she really was the soul..so now you don't have dad you don't have the children the wife the mistress the physical disabilities aside so are they not consequences? Ofcourse they can't kill him caz of part 2 where he legit has to fight his own humshakal who's plan is to take away everything from.him by killing hsi loved ones but by basically traumatizing them in their last moments and making them hate him int heir last moments as they wouldn't know if it is ranvijay or someone else.. to me it is punishment for ranvijay and yes there are solid moments where you feel pity for ranvijay but at no point do you feel like nah he needs to be loved loved yeah you feel sorry that what could have been how an achiever went so berserk and mad but love not really. Ranbir brings such tenderness at times too and such fragile sensitive moments despite the unhingedness and darkness but still makes sure that you don't love ranvijay..and that is huge..

Continuing in part 2 Caz this is becoming huge and I want it to be posted

Part 2

Now coming to the much talked about lick my shoe scene ..I watched it and went Really😕🙄 all this outrage for this .. lmao was reminded of the whole beef against shivaay till the end for just putting his shoe next to Anika on bed ... trust me it is similar situation and scene and NO HE Didn't actually made her lick his shoe he places it on the table and she crashes on the couch but he leaves.. also it is his taunt his sarcasm to her being I will do anything for you Caz I love you while also revealing the biggest plot twist and plan..he catches her red handed plays the whole mind game with her to make her confess and then she goes but I did loved you I will not be part of this killing you game and then it comes so from.a plot point it really was in the moment worked. But blown out of proportion as always by the psudeos based on just a clip not even knowing the context..again am not saying it is a noble thing it is WRONg but it is nothing in comparison to the kind of toxicity south films usually have esp from a few years ago.. I SWEAR that PUSHPA overall is so much more problematic.. anyway it is more in the same gist of shivaay's shoe controversy to put in context..obviously people tend to.ignore the fact that even after the whole cheating and all when the army offers to kill her brutally to ranvijay he walks away with saying nobody would touch her let her go free her let her do what she wants nobody dare to hurt.. Caz somewhere he did fell in love. Tripti has a song a sex scene and a reveal she is such a breeze of fresh air and likeable saving her for.part 2 where she is the main lead and one does feel for Zoya for being a pawn and having her emotions involved but then she is the one playing the cards here phansaooing RV but you do feel for her that she is probably forced too to lie to be a pawn..but you hate RV again how he changes himself.so much for.zoya in an instant quits smoking Caz she says but has a whole showdown with his wife and fights when she keeps telling him.to.quit giving his failing health..sigh

Geeta was the rock taking actually everything and gets cheated like this oh boy that was brutal. It is intresting to see the double standards of even family and for their own interests how quick the thoughts change. So at one point we see her parents show up after 8 years of abandoment just caz 5hey could see a chance to get her married to a telugu man again lol..suddenly care jaag utha..but again Ina way for Geeta too it is a consequence only .she chose this.man she chose to.leave everything and go.with him.in that jawani ka High in that oh I will.pcik.alpha and then got stuck.in this mess craving for a normal.life that she claims she had in the USA with RV and kids for 8 years uska bhi wohi actions hi aaye saamne. One really feels for her Caz she genuinly did love the normal RV well as normal.as could be Caz 100% toh kabhi nahi tha lol..she has to put up.with everything abuse misogyny the DV and she took it until he cheats Caz that was one thing he promised her and was on until Zoya shows up that is when her threshold got.over. that showdown with the husband has very uncomfortable language but at the sam time one really resonates with gitanjali's rage with her pointy questions and wants her to go take the step.which she did Caz his BS was really over the 7th sky lmao at the justification I wanted to.xome.to.ypu with a clear conscience so.i hid.it really lmao..more like you just found out who.zoya really was so.cut the crap. And then he has the audacity to shoot her as she goes direct that if she has to.tolerate and maaf karo.him then she should go.and sleep.with someone too would he do that too but nahh comes the gun and that is told to be a normal husband wife fight lol in which world. Lmao the audacity you forgave me for murdering people and stayed with me cab you not for.sleeping with one woman glad he got the slaps he deserved them esp after taking so much from.geetanjali her whole.life basically her freedom which is also intrestinf Caz on one side er have this and on the other he keeps encouraging his sister that you are independent MBA an individual with high iq and should have your choices and freedom.leave your husband you are not.made to.do ji hizoori his stand on women was really peak double standards..and kinda unclear Caz it doesn't gel well.

Also iintresting was the expectation of everyone that geetanjali should.leave her dying husband now that he is unwell and because he in unwell.not Caz he just committed a crime.so.massive lmao itnis only her who.is like you serious you killed people how can you be normal. But she then rejects it on basis of health with an answer that he basically gave her life as she was dying in childbrith complications twoce Noone else was there.. she says he is her every rishta going to.then into giving riston ke.titles and haha says he is her brother father boyfriend husband Yada Yada weird af bhai yeh imlie ke time bhi tha somebody saying and it is like.plz bhai toh Matt bolo..but that was a constant word.in the start she is shown to.call.him.bhai as bhai.ka dost and Ranbir then goes into a.monlog4ie how the aunties buajis see chemistry and instantly give the bhaimtitle.and rakhi bandwa deti Caz they see red and tells his BIL that we n3ver had that bhai behan vibe and they both got fever lmao as a reaction Caz they felt.solidly since start... disturbing bit for sure lol also they discuss sex so casually it is liek bhai plz but then if you think about it it is also kinda very intimate and is a first Caz nobody else has discussed between a married couple like this uncomfortable at forst but then you get where it is coming from and kinda become cute at times like when they do it for the first times they ask.how was it..or later when the6 are fighting she is yelling at him he insert the earplugs in her ear which their first time's audio playing and she goes all white ke where did he get it from.and if anybody heard it and he goes nope exclusive for her retrieved from.their private jet..ofcourse the argument before that is unsettling but there are enough moments that nobody else would dare to explore qu3stion is should so much detail be necessary or needed again very debatable perosnally do think they should have cut down on somethings as it was also going off topic but then as a husband wife dynamic I would say intresting hai I am not aboard it though fully..

Overall now am just blabbing and blabbing and giving too much away I would.like to continue this discussion later ..BOLD and UNDERLINE I DO NOT appreciate the misogynistic themes and DV or unhinged behavior like this in anyway I do not idolize the husband wife relationship or the love but it is a shade toxic relationships liek this exist and many woman have to suffer on daily basis so I do say that chalo dikhaya toh sahi ke fairytale nahi hota sab atleast that is my take away

My fav moment is from kashmir where a childlike.innocnece ke saath Ranbir at his most vulnerable sees geetanjali bathing their children and just comes and lies down In her lap Caz everything is slipping idk.something so so bittersweet and endearing about that particular moment but otherwise I stand that it was a toxic relationship Caz nobody deserves to be like a partner who is this extreme..

Kashmir.is justtyyy the dream so beautiful basically geetanjali 's unsaid state of mind to get away to.go back to USA where she can find her normal sigh and Shreya is so heavenly..

https://youtu.be/tRKRdm225Xo?si=oVcYL54t20MJfTns

Bobbyy is only last 30bmins most of his stuff is online anyway I felt he needed more to be there and no.i DO Not support the normalization of rape threats or rape by his character no I do not support the brutality and crazy once again the post credit scene the teaser for part 2 is something else on the scale of disturbing violence wise.

Also the interval sequence is half an hour of nonstop war and guns blazing impressive as a peice of action but also suffocating as a viewer in one go i do not really get triggered but i felt like i need oxygen for real i need to breath as it was nonstop the length with no space to breath actually felt woahhh very very hard that way wherr you feel suffocated more than the sight of blood per say very uneasy I don't know how brown parents are taking their kids and being totally normal about it..

Rashmi is decent with her limtations i liked her though some moments are really no behan but then that whole confrontstion in the flow works in a bigway that whole ghussa the way she takes it out and abhores him in that moment then the end up kissing but it is really like Goodbye kiss only feels like one and next thing we know she is leaving him..good for her caz again this is the most a vanga female will get It solidified that they are over..with him then leaving for his final fight but still pointing out the hypocrisy where he says even if i die you can't remarry but expecting her ke bas mistress hi toh thi forgive me casual hai . The make-up/shooting is not right but you see that the graph the whole buildup of that situation again it worked for me on the basis of the execution the tender flying emotions not morally per say you know it is not right but it still works as a scene

Also sorry sorry sorry I just went into Maha ramble mode..there is more but I would stop here

One more thing is there are references to the animal kingdom the terminology throughout to explain the character his behaviors his mindset so again nowhere atleast in my understanding have they presented him as normal human mere tumhare jaisa and is shown to be problematic only ab agar kisi ko usko worship karna hai toh well a choice one is making as a viewer knowing how morally wrong he is and disturbing.. also he is referred to hero in first half by his BIL who they have a hate relationship toh it sounded sarcasm to me ke oh hero but then that is his thought process that all this is heroism in the character eyes ke isse papa will.praise me ke main zimmedaar ho gaya not really a hero his papa keeps condemning him till the last moment so I do not feel it is glorify his behavior ca hero bola.

End main also they kept the goodbye generic in the sense that his father can see what he created and has the horror filled eyes with his ok next janam tu papa ban jana and main beta and then we will switch again so I get a chance to be good papa and you get your badla again not really glorifying but a regret on papa's part too as far as I see this story but then again that is very open to theories and where you stand yourself on your beliefs and morals different for all..hence the diverse spectrum of opinions Caz it opens it.up

Yayy glad you enjoyednit..i did too as I told you in the other chat that human spirit was just beautiful to see and one cannot help but get emotional and feel the compassion and empathy. They really did a great job on keeping the focus on the emotional part the unity the fears the loss the tribute 👏 it overall really was a well-made show that one can really not care about say the low production values esp given the situations they were dealing with in real ab iss Era mainb5hey managed itna bhi is a victory to create all that setup for a night it did feel like a horrifying never ending night and that too is a win to make us feel the dread time being slower the misery drawn out which it has been over decades and still not over for the survivors.

I have seen the parts of this chat on Twitter and really enjoyed listening to them and their takes..baabil ka admiration amd appreciation for Kay Kay was so aww esp given the kind of work Irfan and Kay Kay have done they had a similar path as actors itnwasbbeautiful the way baabil said he didn't even felt his daddy is nomore shooting with Kay Kay.. how he was so giving also was enjoying them tease juhi idk if in this or another one ke aapne kab shoot Kia mystery toh woh hai

Though I do feel baabil needs to bring some restrain and get some.composurw he gets really hyper at times I feel when speaking so passionately ajeeb lagta hai when he actually does have a tehraav as an actor on screen
