I did wonder if the groom’s position and status played a part in how neutral and muted her color scheme is.
I don’t think that the case.
To me, it seems like strictly her preference and choice here 🙏🏼

Her brother was at the Delhi event. But here only her mom showed up. When asked by paparazzi about PC her mom said she was working. Hollywood is on strike so Priyanka has no work to go to 🤷🏽♀️

They have coloured borders, not that white is a bad colour. Issue is with gatekeeping tradition and shaming people for not following them as if tradition is monolithic and not accumulated culture over decades or centuries. I have seen Malayali, Assamese, Bengali 'Hindu' brides wear light colour bridal outfits with or without red and green detailing. Let alone the fact that there are people of other faiths in our country whose traditions also are part of Bharatiya traditions.
What is tradition to someone might not be tradition to someone else. Not that anyone is obliged to follow 'tradition' at all.
Anyhow, Manish Malohtra is quite meh as a designer so anyone is free to like or dislike the lehenga. But discussions on tradition are invariably reductive, at least, I feel that way.
Even we have white in our bridal attire .it's red n white.. there's no set rule as such.. afterall it's bride n groom's big day and they can wear their choice..it's actually a treat to see brides from different Indian states
