My take surely someone else did it and D thought she was responsible all along

If not step (after 1 year+ bit late to reveal her as villain) then K. She had all the reasons to make D think she is more dangerous than in reality and use "you killed Tulsi,can kill anyone" excuse to control her,fulfill her ambitions through her daughter.

There's also guruma and the hooded person, who seem to have some as yet unexplored and unrevealed enmity. But with D coming back again doubt if they will move there.

Poor D though - if the only thing she thinks she did in life will turn out to be something she didnt.
