Where was it mentioned s? His character and his family part was over. Advait was never supposed to be lead. It is Ekam all through. It is because of Advait Nehkam's chemistry we assumed they are OTP. Had it be actor quitting, the character would have a new actor in it's role. But Advait would never end. It is Nehkam all the way. Even now Nehkam is the end game with Harleen mostly dying or becoming full blown vamp that would try to burn Nehkam in fire.

There were many instances of kismat connection shown for Advait and Nehmat. Time and again it was indicated these two were supposed to end up together. Just like there were such scenes for Fateh and Tejo. And show seemed to be heading that way too with their marriage and everything when overnight things changed. Then again this is UD and in this show tracks and characters change every other day. Highly inconsistent and also inconsiderate of the audience.

The poromos during Advait's entry revealed that Nehmat and Advait were destined to be together, and the makers were promoting Ekleen. So many began watching the show under the impression that they were the endgame. As a result, the popularity of season 2 among viewers increased (the TRPs were between 1.7 and 1.5). However, shortly after Admat marriage, Advait, who had previously been grey, underwent a complete transformation and turned negative. 

Therefore, the people who have watched this show from the beginning understand that the makers are using VD to create some buzz for the show, and Nehmat and Sartaj will not be a couple (VD is doing a special cameo; he is not a part of the permanent cast). Also, now that there is news of a leap happening, there are chances that Sartaj's character might end.

@bold TRP was 1.7 during Ekam-Mallika's father's death and Advait-Mallika marriage track. There were so many intense Nehkam scenes (focus was mainly on Nehkam though ppl still give credit to Advait) and faceoff as Nehmat was assumed to be cause of Ekam's father's death but Ekam and Mallika forgave her. During that first 1.7 there was intense drama and confrontation scene of Nehmat-Ekham-Mallika, Ekam-Mallika knowing Nehmat from childhood still doubted her on seeing her photos with Advait. Even after that Nehmat despite being Advait's wife always shown to have feelings for Ekam. During car blast scene she was more concerned about Ekam than Advait. Advait was showed abusive husband having EMA from the beginning ppl compared him with Fateh but Fateh was never abusive husband also EMA began in between not from beginning. It was plot revolving around domestic violence & hope of Nehmat-Ekam reunion because of Nehmat-Advait marriage being proven void from the beginning because of Harleen's entry that led to 1.7 TRP for two weeks only. TRP fall during Harleen-Ekam's engagement after their wedding it was lowest. Whenever harleen was shown positive TRP fall. Whenever Harleen was shown negative like Jasmine TRP rise. Plot focusing on Nehmat-Ekam after their lovey dovey romance adding misunderstandings and angst between them had average TRP 1.4-1.6 which isn't bad.

Jaiveer's murder track didn't get 1.7 TRP; it was around 1.4. The highlight of that particular track was Naaz's nefarious deeds, which led to Admat's marriage.

Further, after the initial week, the only time S2 got 1.7 TRP was when Jasmine revealed Nehmat's parents truth.

* During the Admat track, TRPs were around 1.4–1.6 (the show was filled with heavy drama—Ekleen, Advait/Naaz/Jasmine/Mallika/ Kapoor negativity, Nehkam flashbacks, etc.)

* Ekleen marriage track 1.4–1.5 TRP (Positive Harleen, Nehtaj, Nehkam ema, and Naaz)

* In the last few weeks, Nehkam, Jasmine, and Negative Harleen got 1.1–1.4 TRP.

So Nehkam love story didn't fetch 1-4 to 1.6 TRP; every time the show got ratings above 1.4, there was heavy suspense drama involved, and once the suspense element was removed, ratings would show a decrease.
