Your first point is so so important. And this is the only case for Arnav’s argument. I do hope more people will eventually pick up on this argument as well.

Everyone is telling Arnav he shouldn’t have let Khushi go without the talk or thought about divorce without asking her first. But he knows Khushi. Had he really asked her what was more important for Khushi, a child or him, Khushi would’ve chosen him. And even if she wasn’t lying, Arnav wouldn’t trust it. In his head, he was freeing her. This is the most grey thing I have ever written. I have no idea if Arnav was right in thinking so or if Akash/Payal are the ones with correct solution. I understand the pov of all characters so it becomes tougher for me.

Khushi truly is at rock bottom. Whatever she chooses now, will only lead to progress. But she is heartbroken and very fragile.

And yeah, as promised, Anjali and Kavya are here. Her story arc does play a huge role in Arshi’s past life as well as affecting the future of our couple from here onwards :)

I am sorry if I am bugging you with my questions, but could not help but ask. What did Arnav actually want, ok he was freeing her, he took the decision for both of them because that’s what he always did. Not going to question about that. But why did he then want to talk to her, in his head he was helping both of them by getting a divorce, so Lavanya topic was to refute everything Khushi was going to say save their marriage. And how did he come to the conclusion that there split is going to be amiable once she knows about Lavanya. I feel it’s good Khushi just left. At least she saved her dignity by not letting Arnav throw his cheating in her face.

Beautifully written🥰. Lot is covered, more insights but there is a general theme that had not changed about the two main characters.

Khushi. She is in character quietly suffering, misses Arnav but understands that is a dead chapter. Her parents happiness and peace of mind and not her own well being is driving her decision to marry.

Something stood out though and that was how Khushi perceived Shyam sharing her concerns of intimacy with his mom. The 19 year old who left her small town to marry has matured in 10 years.

Living in Mumbai with Arnav and being exposed to alternate thinking on issues, she can now discern what is correct and choose. Her choice and thinking is different from her parents view or view of the town people.

"He presented himself as progressive and understanding, yet he possessed a fragile ego that couldn't handle a woman's assertion or independence. This kind of man, in Khushi's opinion, was the most intolerable. Their hypocrisy and false claims of being open-minded only served to exacerbate her frustration and disdain."

So given that she understands this, can she stand up and talk to her dad and explain(Garima is a lost cause, will scream, bully) or the supposedly happiness of her parents will drive her choice and she will give in.

Or she just needs a bit of support and Payal coming to her home will help with that. One can only hope.

Shyam may have become better than the scumbag he was in the past but he is a self absorbed, wining man who still runs to his mother when handling a difficult situation rather than addressing it himself. He is not the right choice for this grown up,matured 29 year old Khushi.

Arnav. He discovered even more today the maturity and kind support Khushi has provided him. Remaining on the birth pill and not calling out his pathetic attempt to start a family. Who talks like that. No wonder she stayed on the pill

"I am as ready as I will ever be Khushi. Don't push it." Arnav said, not trusting himself to be able to hold this discussion. "You want it. I want it. Let's just try for a kid okay. Makes everyone happier."

Having said that, he is a responsible, aware person and it was Khushi demeanor holding Leher that prompted him to have a kid. Just that it takes two people to agree and sensitive and caring people don't impose their needs on others. So this new information adds more to his guilt.

It still does not change the fact that he had checked out of his marriage and was unhappy with her presence not just in his life but in the same room as him. You have to really hate and be disgusted with a person if you feel that their mere physical presence bothers you.

So yes he misses Khushi but what are things that he dislikes about her and makes being a couple unbearable?

Anjali and Arnav. Arnav (24 year) said that he had to pay off last of Anjali di loan. Why is he paying? What was this loan for..dowry?

Also he is a very responsible man (even today)..why can he not take responsibility of a child? That is one reason he muses everytime..question of fatherhood comes up.

Did he fail in the past to protect his sister kid(s)? Anjali is traditional, conservative and most probably is married to a conservative man. Did she have more kids..and they were girls also? Female infanticide comes to mind..not really far fetched. Will wait for reveal.

The chapter ended with Khushi's note to Arnav..one she wrote before she knew about the divorce. I felt melancholy.

How two people look at the same situation and do things differently. She wants to repair and he wants to break it off. One is still in love other is not anymore. Or he has never been in love with her. He finally had the strength to move on..

Ps. Mahesh conversation was revealing and kudos to Arnav to keep it professional objective.

No no, the questions are fine.:) But I think for the exact true picture, it needs to come from Arnav. He needs to tell Khushi what he really thought when he made such a big blunder. So can I hold on to those thoughts for a few more chapters. I promise I’ll come back to this comment :)

Has he made a mistake? Yes. Did Khushi do the right thing by walking out? Hell yes. My point to savera84 was only that the reasons Arnav gave to himself about arriving at the decision of divorce were acceptable from his pov. Where Khushi would’ve chosen an unhappy marriage over anything. Remember he thought he may have to tell her about Lavanya to get her to agree to divorce. He was that sure of Khushi not even considering the idea of the divorce. But this talk has to happen between the two characters 😊

I trust you as writer, and I am sure whatever you have in store for us will definitely be worth the wait. But you see I wish the story was complete before I started reading it, just so that I could have read it in one go and be done with all the emotions at once. Believe me you are a wonderful writer to make your readers feel this.🤗

Thank you ♥️♥️♥️♥️

So glad you caught on to Khushi’s non naive reaction to Shyam and his family. Mumbai and living away has rubbed on her too. I refuse to believe that someone can be exposed to that part of society for so many years and do not change even one bit. A 19 year old Khushi may have swooned listening to how Shyam had no issues with her working for an NGO. But this one, despite being in a tough situation, sees through the bullshit. Honestly, this is my personal opinion too. I hate this kind the most.

Plus, she had someone to compare Shyam against. Arnav. Everything aside he was someone who rose to his responsibilities since a very young age. A fact Khushi used to shut down Shyam’s hollow argument.

Yeah. The loan Arnav was talking about had been briefly mentioned in the earlier chapters. The family did take out a huge loan to marry Anjali off and Arnav also mentioned this to Khushi while the budget issue arose. This was the loan he was talking about alongside his father’s medical expenses.

As I said, Anjali’s character has to drive the story, in past and in present. But we’re mostly through with suspenses. Only revelations are left now :)

Yeah, as much as we want to hit him over the head for actions in his personal life, Arnav is a good businessman in the story.

I have also always thought that if one is exposed to alternative thinking that folks will be able to choose. Experience has made me wiser..it is not the case. It only happens when we reflect, and what are core beliefs are. Some of us don't like to change our beliefs..will justify our actions, behavior no matter what😏

That Khushi can overcome the beliefs she grew up with and see their shortcomings...kudos to her🥰

He is a responsible, successful, powerful man. His personal interaction with everyone seems fair and reasonable except Khushi 🫥

So Shyam is not quite the changed person that Khushi's parents think he is. He was apologizing over and over but it seems to be more of a facade. Maybe he has figured out that this serves his purpose better. He is close to his child so that is one good thing we see in him. But as things turned out, he might have been able to prevent that child losing her mother if he had acted. There seems to be more to Mamta's troubles than they are letting on. There is something they are covering. Khushi noticed a shift when they were talking about Mamta. Her instinct is warning her.

Shanti will be a terrible mother in law. She is too full of adoration for her son to ever think he does any wrong. Her attitude towards a daughter in law will be to push her to act like she and Shyam want.

She may have been the one to convince Mamta about not going to the doctor and looks like she may have pushed the issue even. We think Shyam was just complicit but he might have been pushing the same thing. Was there a reason they were so afraid of the hospitals and doctors? They could be trying to hide abuse.

Anjali had a daughter and seemed to be very happy. But if the Raizada reference is something to go by, did her marriage suffer a breakdown as well? Where is she now and where is Kavya? Why did Arnav back away from calling her? Maybe the guilt behind his cheating on Khushi?
