You we’re right in your earlier comment. She is marrying the man not the kid. Shyam may be the most perfect father to his daughter and an amazing person now as well, but it doesn’t mean that these two qualities alone would make him a perfect match for Khushi. Because you can be perfection personified and still fail to impress a heart that still beats for another. Shyam has a tough competition. So let’s see :)

I am yet to feel sympathy for Arnav... He is the dominating, decision making and guiding partner in this relationship all these years and Khushi has been ok about it.. But he refused her fundamental desire as a woman especially knowing how traditional she is, his decisions have been his way or highway..

Khushi did attend important parties if not all. But his way to handle things was to avoid family gatherings, meeting parents and visiting native place.. Then why blame Khushi alone for not attending the parties in the fake world! Arnav expects Khushi to not only give up desire to have kids but also isolate her from the family members simply because they bring up the topic of having kids. So self centered! He should have set records straight by tealling family that he was the one who did not want kids! They never set some give and take rules, maybe Khushi started resenting to go with him and obey his demands when he wanted her to compromise so much!

He handled the divorce proceedings so badly making her feel unloved, worthless, not required in his life indicating he has moved on, cheating not out in open yet but the list goes on..., Now when Khushi has walked out with her head held high, wants to handle things that suits her family and her talking about being mother to some other man's daughter, hope he is realizing his own mistakes led to the crumbling world within him! It was him who first chose to look for solutions outside his marriage by cheating as well as applying fo the divorce!

This is what both of them did, as you said correctly. Khushi attended occasional parties and he visited their hometown once in a blue moon. And both of them , like idiots, don’t realize that keeping away from such big part of your partner’s world is bound to create distances.

And Arnav does realises his folly, especially after everyone around him has been constantly pointing out that he F d up and he wasn’t ready for it. Unfortunately, as he correctly realised, he now has no right to go back and ask Khushi to do anything because he believes she is choosing what she had always wanted desperately.

I believe the way Khushi is handling this mess shows how strong Khushi is at the core. As has been discussed previously, despite loving Arnav and wanting children badly she decided against bringing a child into a troubled marriage. His stance on the subject and the half hearted attempts would probably have added to the mess. And the physical part of their relationship is not good which is not surprising. I wonder why he agreed to it in the first place. Also, how will he feel when he finds out that Khushi never went off the pill. And, perhaps, Khushi knows more about Lavenya than he thinks.

Khushi leaves and has no contact with Arnav because it may be the only way she can handle her heartbreak. Cold turkey. Plus the way he treated her prior to the divorce, not wanting to be in the same room as her and how he handled the divorce is her acquiescing to what she thinks he wants.

I don’t agree that Khushi not earning money during the marriage is a sign of weakness and dependence. She took stock of her skills and resources and was smart enough to think of opening a daba service, take Arnav’s help and she did bring in a profit when it was needed for her to help financially. Then she started a successful NGO so she didn’t remain aimless during their ten year marriage. It is not uncommon for wealthy society people to not accept renumeration for their charitable work.

It is sad that a marriage that had love and I believe understanding reached this place. But it never really was an equal partnership. Due to Khushi’s gentle nature, traditional upbringing and yes, her being in awe of him, Arnav became the dominant partner. He always valued his responsibilities and I agree he also had a very protective nature. But this fit into his need for control. A double edged sword and it didn’t leave a lot of room for growth in the relationship.

Despite the love and the understanding of what made each other tick I’m not sure they ever took a deep dive into their feelings and relationship. Perhaps, Arnav came closer to that than Khushi. For the reasons mentioned she made him the center of her world. Surely, not all of her needs were being met; certainly not the need for children. Yet, she never seems to have spoken out passionately about her needs. I’m not sure he can be faulted for that. I am not talking about the physical passion in their marriage as they seemed to have that earlier. However, he seems to be the one who gave up first and really did behave abominably about the whole thing. But as is said, it’s never only one person’s fault that lead them to here. She just behaved with more dignity than he did. But then she knows she still loves him while he doesn’t believe he still loves her.

This story really stirs up emotions when delving into the complications of a marriage and relationships. There are some really good insights presented in the story and ensuing discussions.

Thanks so much for this. Even I learn more with the kind of discussions you guys hold here :)

Khushi does have her grace and strength, even if she believes she doesn’t have any of those qualities. Even the formidable ASR is unable to handle her sudden absence from his life, but she had made no attempts to contact him or go back. Though she is hurting equally, maybe more.

The kind of nature Arnav has developed in this decade is indeed a double edged sword. While his modern outlook towards life had once impressed a traditional Khushi to no end, it’s the same thing that drove her away too.

What a surprising turn of events!!We are all caught off guard by the arrival of resurgent 😜SMJ.Oh our khushi trying to seek solace in that small kid depicts her turmoil of being childless poetically. Writerji ur writing is of par excellence be it in bringing Raju at the demise of a relationship or in the conversation between khushi and her father!!!Control freak Arnav now really turned powerless in khushi's life...how poignant??Waiting for Anjali to bring up more twist & turn to the rollercoaster ride🙂

And Arnav used to feel very responsible towards his parents, he was saving up money for his father's treatment right.

But now Khushi visits his parents every other month, spends time with them and comes back. He says he visited few months ago and that's enough.

He mocks Khushi for not attending these fake parties and not developing rapport with these people, but he has distanced from people who actually matter the most.

He is lost in this fake artificial world and has forgotten the real people that matter.

Apart from Akash and Payal, I did not see anyone close to him.

Also when he says now that he will go and bring Khushi back home (I am guessing he meant Penthouse). But for Khushi home is where her loved ones live and not a building. Since Arnav cut ties with her, Mumbai is not her home anymore. These little things Arnav either has forgotten about Khushi or he does not care anymore.

yeah, Arnav knew that Khushi was emotional, but he absolutely misjudged the extent of it. He was the one who just assumed that Khushi won’t leave behind her life in Mumbai and that was like the first thing she did.

Arnav did have a decent relationship with his parents. The testing times have not only distanced him from Khushi but his own home as well. We’ll get to all those things very soon. Because I know the reasons in my head, I just put them in the story thinking about when I will dive into that chapter next, and then I realized that it becomes another piece of puzzle for the readers. Trust me I’m finding myself as surprised writing it as you guys are while reading it. Learning a lot about my writing 😃

Nothing much to say as I think everything is already being said by all the brilliant people here, who are commenting. I wait to read each one of your comments as they are as much interesting as the story, it almost feels like reading the extended version of each chapter.

And dear writerji I know i have also gone MIA on the story (just like arnav on lavanya 😝)(may be you have not even noticed with your hectic schedule)...but i am reading it all, i was/am just taking a little break from the story in terms of engaging in full blown conversations as I have realised the story has affected me emotionally much more than what I thought initially. There were instances where I have suddenly teared up during some serious situations in my real life because of this story. (It stays in my head 24*7, trust me when I say this, I am not exaggerating), and it is not a very healthy thing mentally, so I decided on the break, and i guess it had helped also to some extent... but again couldn't hold it for long.

Lastly, take a bow. You are FANTASTIC.

The way you brought back raju from the initial chapters to stir our emotions.🙏

P.s- I want to go on to dissect each and every line but I am holding the urge.

Oh i absolutely missed your comments Puja. As someone pointed out, your reviews are always direct from the heart, without any filter and they are always such boost of confidence for me ♥️

But I also remember you’ve said before that you wished the FF was complete so the angst could be dealt with in one go. I hope weekly updates provide some comfort. :) someone else said to me Asli Duniya is more important and I will say the same to you. I totally understand the decision to choose to keep away from discussions if you believe it was impacting you in real life. I’m beyond glad that you loved my story so much, but at the end, your world is obviously more important. I hope to give you a closure soon. As of now I can’t guarantee the number of chapters, but it is not going to be one of those super long FFs. :)

I'm so glad I came across this story. Read all the chapters in a go. And through most of those, I was just tearing up. The amount of angst and love in this story is brought forth in such a beautiful manner. And Khushi, my heart goes out to her. She is definitely been pushed to the edge of the cliff by one blow after another. Why do I feel like the truth about Arnav and Lavanya would just push her into that pit. She is for now just functioning on autopilot mode clearly because 'the men in her life' have disappointed her. Probably this is what she's thinking Shyam would also do if she goes ahead with the marriage. But then probably the only solace she thinks she'll have then would be his daughter. In short, Khushi is just lost.

Arnav on the other hand is just bearing the brunt of his careless actions. He says he cares for her (it definitely is a twisted way of caring for your loved ones) but has pushed her this far that it has made her numb. I'm now waiting for Arnav's Interlude, if there'll be one. This boy was complex earlier but the man he has become is much more complex. Initially, he would always evaluate his actions and it's impact. But now it feels like he does what he does without thinking of the repercussions.

Waiting for the next chapter eagerly!

Continue soon.

😊

Thank you sooo much for taking out the time to review. :)

You’re right. Khushi is in no stage to take another emotional blow at the moment. At this point even I feel bad about writing one bad thing to another in her life. A reader did point out, you just wish for her to catch a break :)

And yeah, the boy was complex but the man is a whole other level. He does have a lot to apologise for and he does have a lot of explaining to do for his behaviour and choices. Will get there slowly :) thanks once again.

Oh I love Raju’s character. He was just a happy go lucky person in my head who thinks good of others and is content with what life has given him :) He may not be a plot point in the story but I just had to write him. I love people like this. Uncomplicated. Fulfilled. Anjali Raizada does need to make an appearance soon. She will :)

Anjali Raizada? If Khushi is changed to Khushi Singh Raizada after her marriage, wasn't Anjali supposed to be Anjali something else after her marriage? Or Am I reading too much between the lines?😊

Cheers..

The past and present are so intertwined.

Shashi got Khushi married to Arnav to save her from the local goon Shyam and now he is trying to marry Khushi to save her from the society taunts to the same Shyam who is not a goon any more according to Shashi.

This is again under the misconception that Arnav divorced Khushi because she could not conceive and a widower with a kid is a perfect solution for all Khushi's miseries.

Do parents really know what they are doing?🤔

Cheers..
