No definitely not as bad as Vanraj - cannot even compare.

Virat - not sure how bad or good the character is as I've never seen the show so cannot comment.

I don't know about you but I've watched this show since day 1 (of generation 1 with Naitik and Akshara) and I really loved the show because it was different to your usual saa bahu drama.

Stopped watching after Hina Khan left but would catch it now and then and kept hearing from my friend how they ruined Naira and kartik lol

I started watching gen 3 because of promo, I saw Pranali and Harshad together and thought wow they look good together so began watching for them both. But I genuinely liked Abhi's character because I related to him in regards to the child abuse he faced. Seeing a parent be abused by another parent and then still managing to do great in your field is actually impressive and not easy as people may think. Birlas are definitely unstable as a family yet he grew up to be a good human being.

I don't know why people keep saying Abhi is toxic, negative or a terrible person (but hey, each to their own) because in the beginning, he was nothing but kind. If you want to know why people liked him then go to earlier pages and you will find the arguments we used to have for and agaisnt him. Those were good times when we enjoyed bashing and supporting him both 😆

I'll just say that Abhi is the only reason Akshara was able to come out of Arohi's shadows. If Manajri is mentally manipulating Abhi then Arohi was doing same to Akshara up to the point the girl had to leave away from her family to make Arohi happy. It was Abhi who changed all this and made Akshara speak for herself. You can see their journey in two ways: Either you see it as Abhi being obessed with Akshara OR you see the Abhi who was simply trying to save Akshara from her own demons (which was her lack of confidence due neglect). Abhi had taught Akshara to love herself first and he was also the first person who gave importance to her. He even lectured her family for treating her badly.

Yes, Abhi was over dramatic in his expressions by breaking bits and bobs but he was never violent with his family. He knew where to draw the line and he never thought of hurting Akshara. Again, a man who is willing to abort for the safety of his wife, would be less likely to harm her because her health is paramount over everything.

Not gonna lie, I had stopped watching show after marriage because they kept bringing boring plots like Anisha and did not have time to waste. But I saw the episode where he tells Akshara to leave. I don't support him in this and felt it was sooo wrong but I, personally, cannot accept that Abhi. Not because I'm a blind fan or anything, I simply do not cater to the idea of makers butchering their story and their characters for trps. It may be a necessary step for their bread and butter but I do not approve because as I said, this show used to be different to other shows and then to see it degrade like this is not my cup of tea.

What Abhi did that day was in fact, a plot devise more than anything and it still makes zero sense to me as to why they would make Abhi go from caring to cruel in split second. If this epsiode was written then they should have at least built it. I just felt shocked to see a good character be wasted and ruined in one single episode. Its terrible writing and execution. I think if Nav ever turns negative then people may understand my POV.

Right now, I support Abhi in one department and Akshara in another department but since Akshara already has a lot of defenders, I have decided to be Abhi's lawyer on this forum for the time being.

I didn’t like abhimanyu preleap..he was too loud, aggressive and had major anger issues, he dominated akshara and was too forceful.. and he al ways wanted his own way. But I like this post leap abhimanyu .he’s softer, quieter and a better person now.. he’s still messed up and doesn’t know how to fulfill his promises..so that’s why abhinav is such a good character ..abhinav actually has_all the characters a good itv male lead should have and he treats women well..honors his promises.’ I hope they don’t destroy abhinav

Look at akshara. She is in gray zone but she is being continously bashed.... for going against Mr. God abhimanyu, for choosing abhinav over abhimanyu , for keeping abhir from abhimanyu , for not consulting anyone for her abhir , for Neil's death , for the death of one of her babies , the list is endless.

The fact is audience r more flexible in accepting abhimanyu type toxic characters but fls r not given any leverage at all.

I seriously don't wanna see positive negative or gray women . I wanna see kickass , smart , sensible women , at least partially. I believe akshu is taking the correct decisions for herself and abhir but the problem is she can't defend herself against her toxic family n let's her biggest weakness rule her ..abhi Nd the toxic families. The day she can do it , I will cheer for her.

Akshu is grey? How? Taking right decision but the @bold point makes her stupid, I feel..

It would be awesome to see really amazing female characters who would be stronger and upfront... Indian Audience tolerating ML's toxicity is worst of all.... And making them a trophy for which two women need to fight is cringe... And none of those women are worth being FLs, tbh...

Agreed iTv really needs stronger version of Sandhya Rathi or even Ishita Bhalla.... From there iTv has come down to triangles, quadrangle and what not... I seriously wouldn't mind seeing FL with anger management issues or possessive ones too but as you said they need to be sensible and logical... Not the ones going around creating havocs like vamps... Imagine a show wherw FL would kick out ML for some reason (except for cheating... Cheaters are anyways kicked out in iTv)... But they need to have that kinnda power...

He was always a perfect balance of good and bad, I like characters I can relate to, the choice is limited as ITV doesn't really have a character graph because characters behave differently in different track. I don't relate to people who do only good or only bad, this one dimensional approach is boring

Like in upcoming track, people want Abhimanyu to behave nicely, I want him to be a total a$$ and use his power and money to win Abhir then realize that Abhir wants his parents and give him back

It doesn't make him bad or wrong, he is just like any human, who'd do anything in his power to get what he wants and give up on him because the love he has for his son means more to him than the need to be with his son

Although, I don't understand what he likes in Akshara, I just see that as an ITV quirk and ignore it

Hmm why Ab loves Ak..? Here's my understanding of it ➡️ Ab has grown a troubled child that's for sure. Harsh negligence & disrespect towards Manjhari, affected him greatly up to the pt. that he idolized his mum & demonized his father. So from a v.young age, Ab thinks her mum is an ideal woman, that's y he unconsciously seeked a partner having her traits, while his dad is a black sheep that's y he tries his best to be d opposite of him. When he saw Ak, he saw someone like his mum. Someone soft, innocent, who loves their family, yet is manipulated and dominated by its members, avoid confrontations & suffers quietly when in reality needs saving. It might have been portrayed as love at first sight, but his deep-down urge to save someone similar bcos he wasn't able to save his mum is what I felt took the front seat when he chased Ak relentlessly & jolted her repeatedly to stand up for herself. (PS here I'm only talking about pre-1st leap ckts & their motivations). . . . Now why he's still stuck on Ak.. I guess bcos both maa-beta have drunk some soul love ghutti. Mum all her jawani was dead set on Harshu & he's dead set on Akshu. I guess they deep-down fantasize devdas lol :) Jokes aside I feel both of them r in need of some serious therapy asap.. It's a tragedy that in ITV people's traumas n their manifestations r passed off wrapped in d cover of soul love.

Liked Abhimanyu because it was played by Harshad and started watching S3 for him.

Liked him because he was a kind doctor, helping poor going against his dad, supporting his mom through her suffering.

Liked him for his love for music, chasing the voice of a singer and falling in love with the voice and the singer herself.

I hate his anger, and the decisions and acts while he is angry, tired of his crying and turning a blind eye to mom’s destructive actions.

Abhimanyu is a really good son .. He is Manjari's person, he has defended her all through his childhood and stood strong for her. He has been fighting his whole life , his anger has become primary response due to it.

Now coming to Akshara, she is always submissive, rather it be to Aaru or Abhi. She easily let others control her life. So she is kind of like Manjari 2.0.

Abhimanyu needs a strong headed person, someone who will fight for him with him. Not someone who pleads him or hugs him to stop his anger. He needs more than that. Akshara isn't that strong to face that battle, in all the occasions she has only run away from the problem. Someone who would slap him to say he is wrong and his crap won't be tolerated and there is no justification for his anger but still stay with him.

To me, abhira just seems to be uncompatible.

Ofc they're incompatible. When I came on this forum I made a whole post stating how the opposites attract isn't a good case for Abhira, since their weaknesses don't exactly get complimented by the other's strength. . . . What I wrote here is in reply to a post asking why does Ab love Ak? Since I'm beyond soul love & pehli awaz/nazar ka pyaar tropes, I tried explaining my take on the motivations behind Ab falling so hard for Ak & still being stuck on her.

Yeah gray is wrong choice of words..flawed / stupid/ dumb is more like it..

The worst in a FL is that let everyone walk over her specially her family..I never liked akshara for how she gave the special treatment to arohi ..knowing somebody is so vile , yet let them ruin yourself is the dumbest thing to do...when it comes to family they r always over accommodating , selfless and forgiving while the same privilege is not given to the husband..so yeah in this particular phase , I support akshu ... .

Hi...

So I have the habit of researching ITV.. to study and analyze the trends...

But not too deep... Just whenever I get time.

I saw the YRKKH3 from the beginning till to that disastrous Tilak -1. I only watched it because I was curious about the genre shift in this show.. I did not see Yrkkh before (except for the time when everyone was in South Africa.. only some episodes... Those episodes were good.. Nice execution by the team.)

Yrkkh was in my mind a family-oriented series... And the new promo with HC looked more like it leaned towards romance... Yes, I know Kaira was also romantic... But the promos at that time also leaned more towards family themes. So I was just curious about the execution.

And It was also inspired by the Bengali show Ichchi Node.. I saw a few episodes for research.. Just to compare yrkkh3 and IN.. the Bengali show was just too toxic.. for my taste.. I left it

But the singer character's scenes were much more effectively shot.. with simplicity and more importance to the music.. I made a topic about that.. at that time.

TL; DR... I only saw a few episodes of Abhi and at that time... I actually did not much like any of them in the series.. even Abhi... There was a serious lack of communication from everyone's side.. that irritated me to the core.

Abhimanyu's character did not exactly feel new... He was just like many others.. who loved his mother.. against his father.. philanthropist... Angry.

Nor was Ak or Ar any special... It was seen many times.

So there was no hook for me to continue.

Your point about Abhi helping Ak to come out of Ar's shadows.. really feels good.. Maybe it was also beautifully executed. This made me curious to watch those episodes.. but not so much yet.. maybe one day..

But frankly, I don't see any difference. Ar is still special for Ak and everyone. Ak is still concerned about Ar's future and jeopardizing her kid's life. I don't know..

That is interesting...

I understand that he is not too bad or too good..

I wouldn't say this is new.. because I have seen many on ITV itself..

I have connected to many others not-so-perfect characters also.. but it all depended on the execution. Abhi was not one of them though.. But it is ok.

Maybe it didn't gel with me though.. I only remember being bored in the initial episodes.
