And I think its totally valid for Teji to be concerned because she would definitely want her son to experience every bit of happiness in a relationship. But with Katha and Aarav, there will be some extra t&cs here and there. So Teji being concerned, like you mentioned, is justified

However, what I think is pissing people off more is the way she is dealing with that. And her body language is making her look like a childish villain at times And some of her old dialogues made it seem like she thinks Katha would want Viaan just for his money or something.

So its her thought process thats giving a negative vibe!

I wish she had this discussion with Viaan first, telling him about the "baggage" single women come with instead of accusing Katha first

What makes it worse is that she says that Katha being the woman should draw the line because she knows she can't stop her son if he's willing to go all in.

Oedipus complex, classic, especially on ITV.

What pissed me more about Teji's way of dealing with this, was that she chose to go to Katha and tell her indirectly that she shouldnt be having space for any one else in her life. It was so judgemental and accusatory at such a sensitive point.

She could have framed her sentence as "As a single mother myself, I understand women can feel lonely at times and be attracted towards a source of support" (which is a horrible thing to say as well!!)

instead of attacking her and indirectly portraying her as an inefficient mother.

Ofc the alternative I suggested isnt right at all, however, i feel its less attacking!

I found her approach extremely petty. The sweet words and then the unnecessary statements.

Very very petty

Agree, and I'm glad Katha put her in her place and called her out for her accusatory approach. Teji has also made Viaan unhappy by talking to Katha like that first without discussing this with him.

What I hate most is that no matter what she tells either Viaan or Katha, she was doing this as a response to Reet's venom, which shows how poorly she judges both Katha and even her own son's character. This two-faced nature is bothering a lot of people.

So this is where I think ITV is so pedestrian… in most high class rich women scenarios…. The women who are like petty will never ever reveal what they are truly thinking on their face… becos they use their stoicism
almost like a weapon often confusing it for dignity…. I have so many times wishes Katha makers had done this with Teji madam… lekin nahi… idhar Reet ne Muh kholaaa udhar Teji ne tezi se aankhon ke saath dance kar li!!! Thoda tou show some so called classyness

I swear this is exactly what I was thinking. Even their scheming should have some class to it but no, this feels like some middle class saga but with bigger houses and (most times) better fashion sense.

If we are ready to buy into the possibility of how an arranged marriage can stoke love between two people…through so called patience and love and support… Why can’t we buy into the possibility of a single mom who has loved and lost be able to to love again… through the same patience and love and support !!?

I will tell you why… becos historically and culturally we believe that it’s the woman who is the contributor of the patience and love and support and that in a single mom scenario, it will have to be the man … and a patriarchal society thinks that’s too much expectation from a man… and it may be true …

but if we don’t give men that chance and write them off beforehand.. what a disservice we do to men… good men… and to society at large..

And this is why the OG was so popular, because even more than in this show, there the ML does a LOT of things to help the FL see that he's the one, he's so patient throughout, keeps talking about waiting 1001 nights if needed, etc. He woos her in a beautiful way even though she's the one who's stoic and quiet most of the time.

PapaG was a refreshing surprise today. He is seeing the challenges Katha has to face in a “man’s world”. The “requests” of the boss- can’t not escape from it. The stares from men, and what not. The comments from Reet and such people. It is not easy, yet, for survival Katha has to deal with it all with a smile. Story of a lot of women. For PapaG, seeing this unfold right in front of him, with total disregard as to how this might come across to those present, and seeing how uncomfortable Katha was, was perhaps heart breaking. He rightly stated, Viaan could have asked anyone else to help.

I am confused by Reet. Why did she come if she had to leave so early? She missed a chance to hide behind a pillar and hear Viaan out. She also missed the chance to listen in on Teji and Katha’s exchange, and hence add masala to it later. If G family has only one car, then how did Yuvraj pick her up? Why didn’t Reet just ask the driver to drop her home? Uff!

@bold: That’s rich in irony, considering he is one of the main contributors to making it a toxic man’s world. Remember how he threatened to evict his wife of 30+ years & co-owner of his home, for disobeying him? And then called her back remembering how much he needed her, not remembering how uncomfortable she wld be outside.

And now FDs for Aarav & Yohann (even Kavita did not find that odd?). Hopefully he has already made FDs for the 2 little girls, tho very likely that wld be for their weddings!

Would like to give the benefit of doubt to PapaG..Girls are older, so let us presume that already they have FDs in their name ..While opening FD for Yohann he must have thought of Aarav and decided to include him too in the list.

I doubt if it is just about single mothers, it can be single fathers too. I feel that they will face similar issue in moving on in their lives as single mothers do. We talk about patriarchal society at large and then gender equality, what I feel the show is addressing is of more generic than laying it into Women Vs Man debate. It is difficult to love someone (irrespective of gender) when that person has gone through pure true journey of love with someone, and break is as tragic as a loss and not any heart break involved. That means love remained intact in that person's heart and there are times when comparisons will be made and it takes really more to just get them out of that zone and make them realize that past is past, and they cannot live in present with their past.

Ofcourse all the issues are faced by human beings . There is no gender when it comes to mind and trouble . But i fell compared to men women have a lot of baggage when they have to take a decision . And also physically women are weak compared to men . Hence women issues are more highlighted in our society . I am very much into women issues more as i feel there is lot of inequality in our society .

This show is showcasing everything in neutral,be it Kathaa or Viaan they are building it really well.
