What pissed me more about Teji's way of dealing with this, was that she chose to go to Katha and tell her indirectly that she shouldnt be having space for any one else in her life. It was so judgemental and accusatory at such a sensitive point.

She could have framed her sentence as "As a single mother myself, I understand women can feel lonely at times and be attracted towards a source of support" (which is a horrible thing to say as well!!)

instead of attacking her and indirectly portraying her as an inefficient mother.

Ofc the alternative I suggested isnt right at all, however, i feel its less attacking!

I found her approach extremely petty. The sweet words and then the unnecessary statements.

Very very petty

Teji should first learn to make her face expressionless. Then, she should also learn to tell Reet and Reet-types, not to unnecessarily worry about Viaan. Then she should talk about her concerns with Viaan. Without even knowing Katha’s stance, she should not be speaking about this at all!

So this is where I think ITV is so pedestrian… in most high class rich women scenarios…. The women who are like petty will never ever reveal what they are truly thinking on their face… becos they use their stoicism
almost like a weapon often confusing it for dignity…. I have so many times wishes Katha makers had done this with Teji madam… lekin nahi… idhar Reet ne Muh kholaaa udhar Teji ne tezi se aankhon ke saath dance kar li!!! Thoda tou show some so called classyness

I will tell you why… becos historically and culturally we believe that it’s the woman who is the contributor of the patience and love and support and that in a single mom scenario, it will have to be the man … and a patriarchal society thinks that’s too much expectation from a man… and it may be true …

but if we don’t give men that chance and write them off beforehand.. what a disservice we do to men… good men… and to society at large..

It might not be the men themselves per se, as much as the family involved. We do have stories from history about rulers and such where men have been shown to be accepting and caring. Their duty was to provide for the family and they carried it out. But this kind of thinking comes from a selfish, controlling and insecure mind. And we have all of that in Teji. Teji will not be happy even if Viaan marries someone she approves. Her neediness will not be ok with it.

@bold, 😂

When it’s not petty, there is a dignity in it, especially when another is interfering in matters that is none of their business. But dignity comes with a certain attitude. So one has to be clear. And one also has to handle the situation with (again) dignity. Teji simply doesn’t know how to do this. She also doesn’t know how to use it as a weapon. This is one hopeless case! I hope the makers don’t show us her story. It will be unbearable…

I don't feel Teji is wrong entirely here. Would a mother be okay with her (only) son marrying a person who has experienced love and everything that comes with it? I wasn't in her favour until she said "I don't want you to marry someone who comes with a lot of past baggage"

Before calling Teji a classist narcissist, let's understand we are talking about a single mother's worry for her only son.

True . I am happy that the show is addressing it .

Good men are very rare I feel 😬.

Honestly in real society we hardly see men taking interst to marry single mothers .Mostly they just do time pass and when the real scenario of marriage arrives they just ditch them.

But like you said it needs to be encouraged and accepted . The major issue is with how the society will react . It needs to be generalized as to how widow remarriage is done .

Not in near future may be after many many years .

Many a times people who support such ideas also back out when their own son is involved 😜

OH .. in the OG she was a clear cut mental!!! Consistently!!! Without a doubt … when finally the son after he is totally in love with the FL tells his mother off …’ it’s because of you and your constant need to talk about the “other woman” that I developed this attitude about women,.. I had closed myself to love’

I highly doubt that they will make a son say this to his mother in an ITV show… but don’t get me wrong… in a Pak Tv show Diyar e Dil the daughter tells her uncle (mothers brother) about her mother had wrongly emotionally blackmailed her … and that love is wrong..

BTW if you have not watched Diyar E dil … it’s available on YT… do watch it… there are certain aspects that are problematic… but it’s an amazingly written show and the hero’s mother is shown so so classy and dignified … that I cannot even .. I want to grow up to be Arjumand (played by Hareem Faruq) who has certain prejudices but remains classy and dignified to the end

PapaG was good today .

Even though his major worry is about Viaan's entry into Kathaa and Arav life , he didnt judge her for Viaan's gaze .Kavitha will make him understand about kathaa and her life too.

She was good in rejecting Viaan and the expression of his face was so good it was so real . She was so clear and dont keep him waiting I loved that
