They have lost Adi and they want to hold on to what they have left - each other. But it's not a healthy dependency.

Katha should not be thinking of getting into a relationship only because Aarav needs a father. And Viaan should not be thinking that Aarav is the key or the way to Katha's heart. We have watched so many shows, read so many books where single parents date and only when they are comfortable with their partners they introduce them to their kids and that is a big step.

Katha and Viaan should not start off with the baggage of fulfilling Aarav's wishes. They need to like each other as individuals first. They need to fall for each other with no burdens..no conditions..no baggage.

What if Viaan and Aarav hit it off (even after Katha and Viaan start dating) but Katha realises that she is not in love with Viaan..what then? Will she continue to date him and eventually marry him because Aarav likes him??

Katha is so used to being a mother that she has stopped thinking as an individual..as a woman..as a single woman. It's okay to think about what she wants in a man.

I just hope that this doesn't become about Aarav. Yaar Aarav is 8..in a decade he will have his own life and he'll move out. What will Katha do then with a husband who is a good father but not the love of her life.

Maybe I'm asking for too much.

This is such an interesting perspective! Initially, I used to think about how Katha and Arav have this picture-perfect relationship. But your post has introduced a new dimension of their relationship for sure. There is a sense of toxic dependency that I sense at times, especially when she said about Arav being the 'only man in her life.'

Your point about Katha not identifying as a woman (and only viewing herself as a mother) is so true. I do feel bad for Katha in this aspect. That's why one moment I liked in the Holi episode was when she let go of her inhibitions and put those colours on herself ❤️

I also agree with what you said about Viaan and Arav. I found the relationship between Batman and Robin quite pure; there were no expectations to "impress" anyone for the sake of a woman. Now, it seems like Viaan has this goal of impressing Arav to get close to Katha. When Ehsan did this, I complained about him; so it's only fair if I complain about Viaan too 😂 But let's see, about how the makers will approach this topic.

And Viaan just laughed over all of this?! 😭 😭

I love Ehsan when he is a supportive friend, but I struggle to understand his character motivations. I remember after that alcohol episode, we were all discussing about how Ehsan has been affected by Viaan even from his childhood, why he is insecure, etc. And for them to just laugh over all of their issues after we have been having conversations on this forum as if we were psychologists ourselves was just such a slap 😭

I laughed at the bold part🤣

I am trying not to comment on the current tracks as these writers end up making up for it.

Bold: I expect this approach to backfire on Viaan, and should be the next big conflict between Katha and Viaan.

Even though Viaan and Aarav share a pure bond, Katha may be misled in thinking that Viaan used Aarav to get to her. If Ehsan is still grey, he may use this information to create misunderstandings between Katha and Viaan.

And NGL watching Katha wear that same fuschia pink shirt in almost every pivotal scene with Viaan is really driving me up the wall.

what is wrong with me?!?! What happened?!

The funniest part is I should relate to this whole love story because it personally touches a huge chord…my ex, even though he knew of my late fiancé, pushed marriage and I wasn’t ready and that broke us off. This is a personal aspect of my life that is actually being played out in this show…it should have really made me feel something….but nada!

Columbia, my perspective is usually different from most people on the forum so lately I mostly refrain from commenting. I don't think that Katha has processed Adi's loss. On the surface, it looks like she has but none of her actions show this. To be fair to her, I don't think that she actually had time to do so. We don't know when Aarav fell sick but it must have been heart wrenching to deal with another shock so soon. Katha just goes on in life. She doesn't have the time to think about what is happening and why it is happening. Although she had a good support system through Rewa and Falguni, the financial burden fell on her alone. In the beginning, I think that she was working three jobs. We do not get monologues from Katha. I think that that is intentional. She also does not confess to anyone...but she started in that hospital waiting room with Viaan. Many people are complaining that all conflicts have been tied up. I feel that this was done so that they can focus on the main conflicts which will soon arise.

Katha is now firmly established as a member of the G family. Will they accept a relationship between Viaan and Katha?

Katha is not indifferent towards Viaan but she cannot accept those feelings. I don't think that this is related to Aarav but mostly to Adi. She cannot give his place to anyone else. She has not even reached that stage where she can consider this. We don't see any spark between Katha and Viaan because Katha is deliberately shutting him out. She is not an idiot. She knew that the poem was for her. 1st instinct was to give Viaan the message that there is no place for any man in her life.

Ehsan appears to have reverted back to his previous self but what happens when he sees Viaan making progress with both Katha and Aarav? Won't the green-eyed monster influence him?

Will MamaR accept Katha?

I don't watch BTS or interviews either. I don't have any major complaint with the show yet nor am I bored. But the one disconnect for me at times is Viaan's character. The guy was a stuck up in the beginning! Now he is an overtly enthusiastic Majnu! I wish that they had retained his intensity. The child like wonder and innocence are too much at times. How can there be sparks when there's so much respect? If you look at it objectively, Katha hasn't changed but Viaan yes. Now we have to see where the writers will take us.

I have stopped watching the show on a daily basis. I binge-watched a few eps together so that I can connect better to the flow of the story. I am not a daily soap audience. It never works for me, and I always lose interest. Maybe this approach can help you as I don't think that there's anything wrong with you for the way you feel about the show😊it's simply a matter of expectations and execution which is not meeting those expectations. All of us need some passion in our lives. Unfortunately,KA has only been serving vanilla flavour for a while!

@bold: oh no Shalzie, you should always be willing to share your comments! Your perspectives have so much depth and I really enjoy reading them. 😊

It's interesting that you have brought up Rewa as part of Katha's support system. I used to love her character; it is said that friends are one aspect of a person's life who retain that person's individuality. I would have loved to see Katha and Rewa's friendship being played out. It could have been fun to see her teasing Katha about Viaan, or simply bringing Katha away from the stress of being a mother. I wish the makers had just replaced the actor, if Sheen wasn't available :(

I watched the last three episodes today .

Wow what a good performance by viaan and kathaa in the hospital scene.

Kathaa has lot of inner feelings which she never expresses . The way she spoke with viaan was so good and in between made it clear that she has no interest in him . She loves Adi and is not bale to give his place to anyone in his mind .

Ehsan what change of character after holi episode. I hope he remains the same as it is good to see his friendship .

PapaG will now become his self and not let Araav go away from the family . But I think MamaG and Yuvi might make him understand that kathaa too has a life .

Reet also has gone positive or is it fake . She is very happy thta baby boy has arrived .

Araav i felt so bad for him . No wonder he is missing Robin often .

Also i am happy that from the begining they didn't have issue with Kathaa being a single mother . Even Farah was ok with it .Usually ITV dont showcase such things smoothly

yoi bring up valid points on Kathaa. However I don’t think it’s about her processing his loss. There is no full stop to that kind of loss, its omnipresence is often confused with interference or inability, whereas that may not be the case. BUT BUT we don’t know because the writers don’t give us clarity on this from Katha’s perspective. The only thing we know so far is she has become very comfortable with just herself and her son. This has been compounded with her having to deal with his illness, there has been no time for anyone else and now she feels there is no need. And it’s absolutely fine to feel that there is no need. Because women who have loved and lost are made to feel like they are afraid to love again.. while that may be partially true, it is different for different people.

Obviously the last episode we have been shown that this need is something her son has expressed, which obviously she will now possibly entertain. And yet again, the makers give us these imbalanced characterization / on one hand she has told Viaan very categorically that no place for a third person and on the other hand, she expresses her need to fulfill every wish of Arav to Dodo.

Of course, this can only mean one thing. If Katha will say yes to Viaan it will be for Arav and not for herself. To me that makes for an interesting chapter. But here again I do wish there was more clarity on the characterization. And the reason I say IF is because since they have given us no clarity on her exact feelings, who knows we may have a track where another guy is also introduced by PapaG who he can control.

With respect to Viaan I agree with you - am cut pasting what I already said two pages ago. This also relates to Ehsan. The whole about turn is a joke - I agree with @Amarpali2 on this

……

with respect to Kathaa it is actually her inability to open up to a second chance. Viaan is right in that Katha is afraid to so do. BUT its actually not normal for a man who is in love with a woman who has been in love before and lost to have such an objective perspective, I wish the dialogues that Viaan said had actually come from Ehsun. Because Viaan should have gone into she will never love me, because when you are in love, there is a slight vulnerability.

To me, this is where the writers are messing up. They are not clear in how they want to build the two characters of Viaan and Ehsun. if they have decided to make Ehsun the supportive friend then they need to go all out. If they have decided to make Viaan vulnerable, then they need to go all out…they can’t flip flop. Katha has clearly just told him there is no place for anyone else and apna hero has decided nope, I don’t agree. That’s not normal. In fact, if anyth8ng Ehsun who has heard this before has had time with this information, the nope this isn’t true, or cannot live in past should have come from him, because he has had time to assess her after she told him the same thing.

I did however like the whole friends convo,,,the lightness of it..was a treat to watch.,. Especially when Ehsun goes we don’t have experience of being fathers…it was funny.

BUt I am unable to understand the characterization of Viaan. If someone asks me what kind of a man is he…I will be unable to answer…because you can be a little of a lot of things, but you can’t be a little of everything.

Now coming to G family, I do think they wrapped the ema track so that they could explore the what happens when someone new comes into our widow bahu with ghar ka Chirag track… I do think here too they will not fully explore because they have given the family another boy…

The whole culmination of tracks so abruptly has added to the confusion while watching. There needs to be some seamless way of storytelling. It’s kind of disappointing.

Anyways!!! I do hope you drop by more often… becos even discussing it here in the forum has become less interesting… again pata nahi if that’s just me!

I also thought the same. What is the hurry in fixing 4 major conflicts in 2-3 episodes?😲 Very disappointed with the " friendly handshake". 💔Where is the drama?
